JACQUELINE PEARCE - last chance to book for Farewell Event, or order
personalized signed items

In our last bulletin we reported on Jacqueline's imminent departure from these
shores for her new life in Africa, where she will be living at a sanctuary for
orphaned vervet monkeys. There is a thread on the Horizon website forum where
you can post your good luck and Bon Voyage messages which will be passed on to
Jacqueline before she leaves.

She will be leaving for Africa in less than 2 weeks, but you still have two
chances to meet her (if you've not yet done so) or to say goodbye if you have.

This Saturday, 10th March from 3-5pm, Jacqueline will be signing at the VOGA
Shop in Edinburgh. 22, Leven Street, Edinburgh EH3 9LJ Tel: 0131 228 8844

Horizon is trying to organize a final opportunity to meet Jacqueline, and wish
her Bon Voyage on Saturday, 17th March from 3-5pm, in the London area. This will
be a pre-booked event only (the venue is still TBA and will depend on the level
of interest). We did ask anyone interested in attending to let Diane know by
return as there is very little time to organize this and we would need a minimum
number to make it a viable event. We know this hasn't given you much time to
re-organise your schedules, but anyone else interested in attending MUST contact
Diane by the end of the weekend, or we won't be able to go ahead. There will
be a small entrance fee of £10 and there will be photos available to buy which
you can get Jacqueline to sign, and there will be an opportunity to chat to her
during the afternoon in a relaxed atmosphere.

We are still offering the chance to order a signed photo. Obviously there will
be regular signed photos available in the future, while stocks last, but if you
would like a personalized photo, this could be your last chance.

ORDER SIGNED PHOTOS: All pre-orders MUST be received by no later than Thursday
15th March. Personalised photos will be £15 plus applicable postage. Regular
signed photos £10 each. Once Jacqueline has left the country, the cost for
unpersonalised photos will rise to £15 each. We have a choice of several
different photos - information will be posted here in the next few days.

Remember, if you are interested in attending the Horizon signing on Saturday
17th March please let Diane know straight away (this does not commit you to
attending, it is just to gauge interest.) Email Diane at horizonb7@...
or telephone 020 8236 0810 .

JAN CHAPPELL RECOMMENDS.

Jan has just been to see 'Face Value' - Louise Jameson's one-woman play at the
Hackney Empire (playing until 17th March) and thought it was so good that she
wanted to let you all know via the site, in case any of you are able to go as
it's a great night out. Louise of course may be better known to all as the
Doctor's glamorous Companion, Leela. 'Face Value' is written by Helen Goldwyn.

The show runs until Saturday 17 March at 7.30pm at the HACKNEY EMPIRE (Studio
Theatre), 291 Mare Street, London E8 1EJ. Tickets are £12.50 (concessions £9)
see www.hackneyempire.co.uk for more info. Box office 020 8985 2424

'Face Value' - (Diary of a Menopausal Diva) is a one-woman play, populated by a
'cast of thousands'... all played by Louise Jameson. FACE VALUE is an acerbic,
topical comedy about society's obsession with youth, beauty and transformation.
A 'must see' evening for women of A Certain Age... and the families who have to
live with them! Joanne Taylor - former TV Diva - is on the verge of her 55th
birthday, seriously single, 'hot-flushing' and about to make some drastic
changes in her life. She's being offered the chance to revive her career but
her arch rival - the apparently ageless Loretta Monteray - is hot on her heels,
her manager is threatening to dump her if she doesn't smarten up and, to top it
all, her friends have set her up on a date with an ex-boyfriend she hasn't seen
for 25 years! Come and get intimate with Jo and discover how she's arrived at
her crucial moment of decision: should she go for the 'nip 'n tuck' approach or
will 'keeping it real' give her more of what she wants? One thing's for sure,
she's about to learn something she never knew... about herself!

GARETH THOMAS

Gareth has been working on an independent film called 'The Independent' which is
about making. an independent film! Gareth plays Gary Devane, the original film
director on the project, who gets fired. It is being directed by Guy Louthan,
written by Guy Louthan and Neil Monaghan and starring Jennifer Tilly and Jason
Flemyng. He's already done some UK filming and expects to be doing some more
out in Romania later this month. 'The Independent' is a comedy, and centres on
a producer who is given the chance to realize his dream project of filming an
adaptation of an obscure Victorian novel.

"The Independent" is the story of a producer who is given the chance to realize
his dream project; to film an adaptation of an obscure, beautifully written
Victorian novel, "The Tides of Reason". Disillusioned after years of making low
budget genre films, the producer readily accepts the demands of his less than
legitimate financiers. Namely, the production be filmed entirely in Romania to
take advantage of a complicated and slightly suspicious tax deal. Shot in
documentary style, this behind-the-scenes comedy deftly and inexorably exposes
the painful reality of runaway film production. Way off the radar in deepest,
darkest, rural Romania the hopelessly disconnected production veers swiftly off
the tracks as bizarre personalities, cultural, economic and language issues
quickly combine to send the production spiraling into hysteria. (Neil Monaghan)
