GARETH THOMAS WEEKEND
A reminder that there are still tickets available for Enigma Productions special
event 'An Evening with Gareth Thomas' this Sunday 28th November.
Chester-based EnigmaProductions are staging a series of live events, featuring
guests from Blake's 7, Doctor Who, and more. Other evenings feature Bond Girl
Caroline Munro on Sunday 12th December, Dudley Sutton on 30th December and 2005
dates with Jacqueline Pearce, Michael Billington, Frazer Hines & more.
All the events will take place at Alexander's Jazz Theatre in Chester. There are
only 100 tickets for each event, so to be sure of a place you should call the
Jazz Club ASAP. Tickets cost £10 each (Gareth Thomas); £12 (Caroline Munro) and
are available from the venue on 01244 340005, or from event organiser Brian
Gorman on 07708 554376.
Some further information on the format for the evening - doors open at 7.30pm
for an 8pm start. There will be a one hour interview, ending with a 'Room 101'
session where Gareth lets us know his pet hates in the hope that they will be
sent off to oblivion in the infamous Room 101. There will then be a 20 minute
interval, followed by a raffle draw and a 40 minute Q&A session. The official
part of the evening will end with a charity auction of a superb original
illustration with the money raised going to Gareth's favourite charity, after
which Gareth will be happy to chat to fans and sign items. The bar will be open
throughout the evening, and will remain open until midnight. You will also have
the opportunity to buy Gareth/Blake & Blake's 7 related merchandise from the
mini-Horizon stand, which Gareth will be happy to sign for you. Items on sale
will include the B7 DVDs, the new box set of BBC radio plays, the new Terry
Nation book, a vast selection of photos, and assorted CDs and DVDs including
'The Actor Speaks' and the Soldiers of Love Series from MJTV, Dalek Empire from
Big Finish, and Gareth's MythMakers DVD. If anyone coming along would like
anything not on that list, just drop Diane a line and if she's got it handy,
she'll bring it along for you to look at.
Brian Gorman has given us directions for getting to Alexanders - it's right in
the centre of town, near the town hall and Odeon cinema. If you walk past the
Odeon along the main road towards the bridge you'll see an alleyway on the right
with a big flat at the entrance. This is Rufus Court and Alexanders is in the
courtyard. You can't park right in the courtyard but there should be spaces
nearby. If you have any queries, just give him a call on his mobile and he'll
direct you - 07708 554376.
There are also still seats available at the Royal Exchange, Manchester for the
last night of 'Volpone' in which Gareth plays Corbaccio. Meet up with Diane and
other Horizon members - box office number is 0161 833 9833.
