For the next GL, be it the Global one, or if we decide to try something like this one again, we could send multiple copies of it.  I don't know why I didn't think of it sooner, but Kinko's does copies this size, and they'll even do the nice poster paper.  I know for just a regular b&w copy on plain paper it's $3 and some change, and I'll check and see what it would cost to take one like this one in and have multiple copies made.  That way maybe we could hit one or two folks at Fox, NBC, TNT, and maybe even get it sized down and sent with a press release to some of the media venues we were talking about.  One of the things I thought was really cool about this one is how many signatures came from here in AZ and yet I don't know any of these people! (Or at least, I don't recognize their names offhand.)  We've got a great set of news teams here in town, namely the one that's our NBC affiliate, and then the other one that's strictly local, but is in conjunction with the station that is our CW (recently changed from WB) station.  Uh-oh, someone should probably stop me, I think I'm getting delusions of grandeur. :)  If there really is that big of a fan-base in AZ, why don't we have a big marathon/meet-and-greet?  We could rent out a movie theatre and have a big brainstorm session, get organized, and then watch and episode or two of Pretender.  We could charge just enough to cover the cost so that we're not infringing on that whole can't show for money warning.  I have no idea how to advertise and get organized tho.  I mean, I know kinda where to start on plans like that, but, anyways.  And what if all over the little fan groups could do something like that.  Maybe they can't rent out a movie theatre (maybe it'll be too expensive/too much trouble for here in AZ) but a library conference room or convention center rooms or who knows?  Once we get it figured out and organized, we might be able to eventually get the meetings to come together at the same time to where we could conference call via online or a chat room or something and ALL the groups could share their ideas with the others.  I'm thinking a gathering like my first thought would definitely be something I could get a couple of the local news teams to cover here, not to mention our newspaper.  Plus with the newspaper avenue you've always got the possibility it could end up on the AP wire or something.  (I don't know where this sudden burst of ideas came from, but I thought I should share them.) :)  Hmm, maybe I should be posting this to the group or the forum?  All of the places we gather?  Thoughts, ideas, questions, concerns?

 

Oh, and I found out the myspace is owned by Newscorp, same big company as Fox, it's a shame we couldn't rally on there (tho I completely understand why some people don't join up with myspace).  I've seen grass-roots campaigns work and achieve results - I'd love to see this one work. 

 

So I'll try to get the poster in the mail today to Anthea Disney and I'll let you know for sure what the final cost ends up being.  I'm getting ready to leave for work soon but we always have mail that has to go out AFTER the mailman comes by, so I'll just tell her I'll take it up to the PO and take this too.
