Re: [Friends_of_Lassie] Australian DVDs

I just received my Australian The New Lassie DVDs. I took a quick
peak at the episode lengths to compare. The episodes on the
Australian DVDs are a few seconds longer than the ones on the
unofficial set I have from iOffer. The first episode, An Occurrence at
Glen Ridge, for example is 21:41 on the Australian DVD and 21:36 on
the iOffer DVD. Having no logos is a definite plus. My comment in a
previous message about the Australian DVDs sounding like they were
going to be inferior probably wasn't the best choice of words. My
main disappointment with the Australian DVDs is that they didn't
release the whole series and didn't even get the episodes they did
release in the right order. The series only lasted two seasons and
they released about half of the episodes. The first season would have
fit on four volumes. They could have released the complete first
season in order on four volumes and then released volumes five through
eight with season two somewhere down the road. Or, they could have
gone ahead and released the complete series at one time. Since they
skipped around and released a mixture of episodes from seasons one and
two it gives one the impression that they don't intend to release the
rest. Oh well, having both sets I could create a set of DVDs for my
personal viewing combining the higher quality logoless episodes from the
Australian DVDs, in the correct order, and filling in the missing
episodes with the material from the other set I have.
