Re: [Extreme_Makeover_Home_Edition_Show] Volunteering

Last year when it was here you couldn't just show up, about a month or so, the contractors and their volunteers started signing up volunteers, Here if you weren't a volunteer the police didn't let you past a certain point.  You had to have passes to get to certain areas.  We had to have special passes to get past 4 points to get to our house.  Find out who the contractors are and see if anybody knows them that will let you help if you have some carpentry skills, call them i bet they will let you

Does anyone know how (websites, people, etc.) to be able to volunteer
for an upcoming project (any location)? I believe they usually find
volunteers primarily through the contractors' friends and family and
those directly involved with the family (ancillary community groups,
friends and family of the chosen family, etc.). One who wants to
volunteer therefore has to know somone related to the project to
volunteer. The project is (available to the) public but not
(publicized) public until construction nears starting, and even that
news bit may still not answer how one can actually volunteer.
