Thank you so much for the information about making videos clips from Emily. I
haven't had a chance to look into it... I do have the dvds though. I wish I
already knew how to convert the dvds to avi format, because if I did, I'd be
able to make clips easily with a program I have. I'll try to check the programs
you mentioned though and see if I can figure them out. :) If I don't have any
luck, I do have a couple of episodes on cd...and they are avi files...
transfered to cd from a tape, so the quality isn't as good as the new dvds, but
it would still work to show a few clips from the series. What do people want to
see most in clips? (If you haven't see the series) Scenery... certain
characters... ???
Kindredly,
Becky

I have a suggestion, but it will only work if you have the episodes
on
DVD. You will need to extract the episodes or at least parts of the
episode from the DVD. A good program to use for this is DVD Shrink. You
can find it on google and there are guides available that will show you
how to use it. Once you've completed that step, you will need to
convert the extracted DVD files to video files like AVI, MPEG, WMV, RM,
etc. You can go to download.com and find a program to help you do this.
There are some free trial programs available that will only do 50% of
the file or leave a watermark. A program that I like to use is called
Auto Gordian Knot. It does a good job of creating AVI files. Another
program that's good is Nero Recode. It lets you convert your DVD files
to MPEG and lets you trim them and set the dimensions that you want. If
you would rather have AVI files, then you can take the ones you created
with Auto Gordian Knot and use a program to trim them. A good one to
use is VirtualDubMod. That's all you need to know for creating video
clips. Have fun!
