Hi, Faith.
Wow, aren't you lucky! I wish we had BBC America. I keep asking our
cable company, and they say there is no market here for it. I doubt that.
You have all the EastEnders we would want................... Especially
the old episodes. It would be great to see Den and Angie and Sharon and
everyone again. i hope to see you again..........Mary (loulina in New
Jersey where we get EE from WLIW on Long Island, NY, and apparently there
is no market for EE.............hah!)

Faith says, "So Jerry, did you work for KIKK or did you just listen to the
station? Did you live in Houston, if so did you like it?"

Was on the "Houston Kicker" in the late 70's spinning the songs at night,
plus had a talk show, and did investigative journalism by day. We were just
a few blocks from Gilley's, so were right in the middle of the "Urban
Cowboy" trend of that time period.

No family "from" Houston, but half of my family has been there since the
60's. Many of the background paintings at the Houston Zoo were done by my
late Uncle who had a famous home on Post Oak. I lived there about a year
(typical broadcasting duration), and used to visit there often when my Grama
(my best friend) was alive.

For those not familiar with Houston, it's a very classy city with classy
people, and it does not suprise me at all that awesome PBS and BBC programs
do so well there.

Faith ... now that you've had a taste of UK culture from EastEnders, have
you ever considered visiting there? Myself and others on this list have,
which has only hooked us on BBC programming even more. Plus it's a great
place to escape those long-hot summers that you get there in the Lone Star
state ;)

Welcome Faith. All of us are huge fans and love to talk
endlessly about our
fav show. Anyone who is friends of EastEnders is friends of
ours :)

So far, it seems most of us see EastEnders on PBS (an
average of about 2 to
3 years behind), BBC America (3 week delay), and our UK
friends get the jump
on us and are normally kind enough to let us know what to
expect.

I enjoy current EE eps from the BBC website, Dish Network on
my dish, and on
our local PBS channel in Minneapolis, Minnesota, where it's
just after David
		 leaving the square.

Let us know where the Houston PBS is at with the eps, and
keep in touch. I
enjoyed about a year on the radio there at KIKK a while back
and miss my
friends and some family still there. EE fans get together
there once in a
		 while, don't they?

Well Sunday's eps was were David is still having trouble with Joe. David
got Joe's keys and looked at his bedroom, what a mess. Also Carol took the
tickets from Blanca and left. Then David was crying. I kind of felt sorry
for him then. I like David, but some of the things he does. I believe they
are fixing (Texas word) to have New Years, but I don't know what year it
will be. I know that David wants to go to Italy, but so far he hasn't left
yet.

I'm also watching the current shows on BBC America, I think that they are
almost a month behind. I really enjoy watching Eastenders the beginning.
It's fun to see when Sharon and Michele were still in school. Right now
Michele (she's 16) is pregnant and no one knows who the father is.

Hi Everybody,

My name is Faith and I am a big Eastenders fan. I live in Houston Texas and
I get to watch 3 different sets of Eastenders.

(1) Eastenders is shown on Sunday night on our local PBS Station, but
it's about 3 years behind.
(2) The current Eastenders is shown on BBC America, which is on the
Cable Company I use.
(3) After each new show on BBC America they show Eastenders the
beginning.

So it's like watching 3 different shows at the same time.

I've been watching the series for about 4 years and I really love it.

Ha Andrea! Maybe you know already the answers but Grant was in jail because
Tiffany told the police that he threw her down the stairs and Bianca has a
babyboy called Liam (she delivered him in the Vic with help of Grant....)

Why was Grant in jail?

Did Bianca have a boy or girl, and what is the baby's name?

Thanks in advance.

Mary, I hate it!! I remember when Tiff first came on the show, she was just
like Bianca's little annoying friend, stirring up trouble it seemed. Now I
have grown to really like and appreciate what a wonderful character she
is..Martine is a wonderful actress and I hate to see her go. The beginnings

very sweet and it is so nice to see Grant happy... ah well...<sigh> :) Cathy

Hi, my name is Molly, and I'm a fan of EastEnders. I just recently got BBC
America which shows both the current show and the shows from the 80s. I love
Tiff, Bianca, Michelle, Wicksy, and Ian. I just think this show is so great
it's better than the soaps here in America.

I would like to thank all of you for subscribing to one or more of the
lists I moderate on OneList. My apologies if this message reaches you more
than once.

Some of these lists have caught on like wild fire, others have yet to get
any threads started.

I urge you to start a conversation. State an opinion about the subject.
See who agrees. See who disagrees and why. I'm sure everyone will learn
something in the process.

A mailing list is only as good as it's participants. If you think things
are slow, you're as responsible as anyone for the lack of messages. If you
give it a try, I think you'll find that it's very rewarding to be active in
a mailing list.

For those of you who have been active, Thanks! For the most part, everyone
has been very polite and there's been little if any need for me to get
involved. That's great.

If you would like to join some of the other mailing lists I moderate, check
out http://www.gate.net/~rvaughan/mailing.htm for descriptions of the lists.

One housekeeping note: Onelist needs to expand the system again. There
will be some downtime tonight from 6PM to Midnight Pacific (US) time. No
messages will be lost, but they'll be delayed while the changes are being
made.

Thanks,

Ray

Here in NYC area, (where Cathy, <emonsoon> ) also sees EastEnders, we
also used to see EastEnders five nights a week. That was from the beginning,
when it was on WNYC. We started in the beginning of the show ... When they
kicked down the door and found the body. We, too hated it when they
went to one hour a week....supposedly because we had caught up to the UK in
the story line. Then, WNYC went to mostly news and dropped EE. Talk about
Shock! A wonderful group of people (and you know who you are, thank you!)..
..were instrumental in having WLIW pick it up. Now we see it each
Wednesday night for one hour. We are not crazy about Ian, but he sure did
a good bit of acting when he found out with whom Cindy was cheating on him.
Wow! That was our last episode. Mary........

Here in Ohio, we must be even a bit further behind than NY. We just saw the
inquest deciding that the officials had nothing to do with Arthur's death.
And last night Steven got hit by a car and the women (and men) had a riot
tearing down the fencing at the playground demanding the council reopen it.

I started watch Eastenders on a visit to the UK in 1986 and got home to
discover it was on here everynight. However over time our local PBS station
has cut it to one night a week for an hour. And that simply isn't enough.

I check the weekly summaries on the UK Eastenders tv area, but that doesn't
tell me what has happened in between our today and your UK today. feel free
to 'spoil' me. lol.

Here's this month's message from your friendly mailing list manager ;)

I really want to thank you all for joining these lists. The number of
people on some of these lists is really impressive. Others are still a bit
slow to get popular.

But here's the problem: On some of the lists, you're being too quiet!
There are a lot of people here that are ready to help, or be helped. All it
will take is a few questions to get things going. Please don't be shy.
Just jump in and say something! Take a moment to intro yourself and tell us
why you're here and what you hope to learn or teach.

Thanks for being a member of these lists. Please pass the word and tell a
friend.

Ray, List Manager
