The chemistry between Jane and Masood is great, so I'd like to see
something happen between them, although not necessarily a full blown affair
I really do wish they'd give Jane more to do.

EastEnders star Laurie Brett says she hopes Jane won't just become a comedy
character.

The actress told the soap's official website: "We've had quite a bit of
humour so I think we're due some weighty dramatic scenes in the next year.

"There hasn't been much drama since Jane being shot, except for her throwing
Ian out at Christmas!"

However, any fans who think they've already worked out what that next big
drama will be could be in for a disappointment, as Laurie says that despite
their constant flirting, Jane and Masood aren't necessarily heading for an
affair.

She explained: "All the elements are there for an affair to occur, but he's
in love with Zainab and Jane's in love with Ian.

"It's a lovely little friendship and I think they should be meeting in a
year's time chatting about their families. I don't see why it should have to
go down the affair route."
