Hi

New member here just wanting to pop on and say HI and TY for this
wealth of information!!!

I've been playing around with the fresnel tv projector thing recently
experimenting with all kinds of stuff on my own but nothing is working
to my satisfaction. I figured there's probably a way to get this to
focus better so did a bit of Googling and found this egroup. TY for
being here.

Some of the designs and ideas are just wonderful! Can't wait to try
them out.

I don't have MS Word on my computer so I'm not able to read some of
the ".doc" files in the files sections. If someone can make those to
.pdf, that would be freaking awesome.

My main problem is focus and "glare". The light is like spilling over,
washing everything out, making it all fuzzy. I tried different things
to correct this. One of them being making a panel and putting it in
front of the lens with a smaller hole. This helped by giving me a much
more focused image, but the image was too dark to make it fun to watch.

I was contemplating getting a polarizing filter to see if that would help.

Part of my problem is using a cheap 330mm lens. I know I have to get
a better one.

I didn't know about the baffle, I'll give that a try.

Question 1) My research tells me that "the shorter the focal length,
the stronger the lens" is. Would a 200mm lens not be better than the
300-500mm lens that's been talked about here?

Question 2) Flipping the vertical/horizontal connections on the TV:
Will I be able to read words displayed on the screen after projection
(do words appear correctly on the screen)?

Thank you so much. I hope I have not asked questions that have already
been asked...I tried searching, but nothing came up.

Joyce
