Re: Image Quality of Projections

Hi,
To fine tune your tv for crt projection it's a must to be able to
access your tv's service settings. Do you have access to them on
your tv? If you leave the make and model of your tv I can see if I
can help find them.

Apart from contrast,I think the RED and BLUE colour drivers can
darken a picture and maybe if you try moving them down a bit it
might help.

I think I've finally settled on what I think is the optimal
settings on my tv and all movies are looking good now with a clear
picture and good colour.I increased the gain and luminosity on the
tv and set the RGB drivers at about 65% RED,60% GREEN,63% BLUE. At
first I though it would be best to have all RGB drivers at 100% but
the colour was not natural and too cartoony. After experimenting
with a lot of different settings I found the best picture. When
watching movies now I can really appreciate the high quality images.

It took a lot of adjustments to tv and screen and experimentation to
go from having a newbie diy crt projection to having a really
quality picture. It's a fun project and the results are really worth
it.

image is perfect and it's just as good as in the movie theatre (eg
Matrix trilogy,Underworld,Terminator 1-3)whilst other movies and tv
shows the quality is pretty good and enjoyable to watch.Music clips
also look excellent.Dark scenes in films that are lit with
artificial light show up better than daytime scenes shot in natural
sunlight.I wonder if crt tv's reduce their light emission with
daytime scenes or if it's something to do with the exposure at the
filming source.Has anyone else noticed this with their projectors?
