Description

Welcome to the official Club for Dance Party USA (DPUSA). The Club's purpose includes: 1) bringing DPUSA dancers and fans together to share memories in a safe friendly atmosphere, 2) provide a place for fans to get official information regarding Dance Party USA activities. Members are the 1st to hear about official DPUSA events and reunions, the Radio Show, sale of memorabilia, Home Videos, DPUSA’s Night’s Out, 3) eventually reward membership with discounts and special privileges. Dancin' On Air (DOA), produced by Frank and Michael Nise 1981-1987, was the forerunner of DPUSA. DOA was broadcast to 6 east coast states. In ’86, KDOC, LA picked-up the show, and the station doubled its ratings the 1st week. The then fledgling USA Network heard about KDOC's success with DOA decided to give DOA its producers a try… and Dancin' USA was born. Overnight, USA Networks ratings doubled with Dancin’ USA. Shortly thereafter, the show was renamed, Dance Party USA. DPUSA was broadcast to all 50 united states and its territories on the USA Network from 1986 to 1992. Both DOA DPUSA jumpstarted the careers of 600+ celebs, many who had their very 1st TV appearances on DOA or DPUSA including Madonna, Will Smith, Duran Duran, Tommy Verica, Aly Larter and Kelly Ripa. The roster of stars reads like a “Who’s Who” in the entertainment industry from the 50’s through the 90’s. DPUSA was the 1st TV dance show to allow interracial couples to dance on TV and it was the 1st to incorporate music videos in its format. Frank Nise, once the world's oldest living teenager, died on 6/9/01, age 90. Youngest son, Michael Nise holds the world's record for producing the most number of TV dance shows in the world.
