Hello everyone!
Last year, the Sue Thomas F.B.Eye Fan Convention was able to donate
$3200 to the Lions Foundation of Canada – Dog Guides for their
Hearing Ear Dog program, and the Deaf Culture Centre for their ASL
Dictionary for Children. Of course, we must thank everyone for their
generosity, we couldn't have done it without your help!
This year's auction is now up and running, and we hope that we can
count on your generosity once again. Just like last year, the money
raised will be donated in full to the charities we support. We have
already raised $550 during the Convention, we can certainly raise more
than that with fans from all around the world! Wouldn't it be
amazing to gather even more money than last time? The charities would
be thrilled!
Don't wait too long, or you'll miss your last chance to get an
autographed memorabilia from your favourite TV show. We have pictures,
DVDs, even a copy of a rare script from the pilot episode, autographed
by the seven main actors! Special items for the die-hard fan, you
can't miss this!

details and to see what we have to offer. The auction closes on Sunday
July 26, 2009.
Thank you very much for your support! The money will be donated in the
name of the Cast and Crew of Sue Thomas: F.B.Eye. Nobody said it better
that Myles: "Bid generously, bid often. And remember, we're
doing this all for the children…"

On February 20-22, 2009, the second edition of the Sue Thomas F.B.Eye
Fan Convention took place in Toronto. Maybe some fans have lost
interest, or maybe it was the economic situation, but our group was much
smaller this year compared to the last time… So THANK YOU Alfred,
Annie, Cath, David, Doris, Elaine, Élaine, Jim, Lindy, Maria, Peggy,
Ricki and Sylvie!!!!! Yes, add me to this list and we have the names of
everyone who attended the Convention. Small group indeed, but such
fantastic people!!
On Friday night, we met at Tucker's Marketplace for a simple
get-together, to meet new friends or match a face to a name we've
known for a while. It was the perfect setting to chat with each other,
learn new signs and succumb to the temptation of a delectable dessert
buffet table!
Saturday, the activities took place at the Four Points Toronto Airport.
We started with a short video, the greetings Deanne, Enuka, Marc, Rick
and Tara had filmed for us last time. We continued with some useless
trivia (Did you know that the dot over the letter 'i' is called a
tittle?) and a very imaginative game of Pictionary. In the afternoon,
everyone could test their memory with questions about major facts and
tiny details from the show. In the evening, we had booths with
different information about the actors and the characters (did you know
that one of Deanne Bray's favourite movies is "The Sound of
Music," or that Tara's character was originally meant to be a
man?). During the auction, the well-known generosity of the fans helped
us to raise $500!!! That is awesome!
Oh, I almost forgot… On Saturday afternoon, we had a chat with Gary
Johnson, one of the creators of the show – we had a live video feed
from his home in Los Angeles. He generously answered fans'
questions for almost 45 minutes, and we learned a lot about how the show
was created, why it was filmed in Toronto, if the chemistry on the set
was as good as the chemistry on the show, etc. We also received some
privileged information – the show will be back in the US with reruns
on Animal Planet very soon and they are working on having the show
available on DVD. Will we ever see Jack and Sue as a couple? Probably
not, but we might see the whole team again because there is a project in
the air – a Sue Thomas movie with the original cast!! No date has
been announced yet for this, but we'll let you know when the
information is available.
On Sunday, we hopped on a bus for a special guided tour. We started
with the studios where the show was filmed, and then we visited the Deaf
Culture Centre, where Anita Small gave us more details about one of the
charity we support, the ASL Dictionary for Children. After a quick
lunch at the Distillery District, we took a walk in the streets of
Toronto to discover different locations that were used to film scenes
from the show, such as the park where Jack brings Sue roller-skating in
the first episode, and the façade of Sue' and Lucy's
apartment.
This concluded a great weekend… Lots of fun and amazing new
friends! And now, what is coming up? There will be an internet
auction, just like we did last time, but prizes and details will be
posted later on… As usual, stay tuned for more details…
Thank you everyone for your support!!!

Ho! Ho! Ho! Santa may not be coming to town, but he has big news
for everyone! The Sue Thomas F.B.Eye Fan Convention is coming back
for a second edition on February 20-22, 2009, at the Four Points (by
Sheraton) Toronto Airport Hotel!!!
Last year, for the first edition of the Convention, we had the visit
of the real Sue Thomas, Ted Atherton (Myles Leland III), and plenty
of other guest stars from the series. With the contribution of the
main actors who had autographed items for the raffles and auctions,
we were also able to raise ***$3.200*** for two great charities –
Dog Guides of Canada (Hearing Ear Dogs) and the Deaf Culture Centre
(ASL Dictionary for Children).
This year, the formula stays basically the same, with games and
quizzes testing your knowledge of the show, raffles and auctions to
raise money for the charities, guest speakers (to be announced), and
hopefully actors from Sue Thomas F.B.Eye. Of course, there will be
some surprises!
Register before Christmas and save! Places are limited and advance
registration is required, so why wait when you can register now and
save money?
You can register directly on our website with the PayPal Shopping
Cart. Why PayPal?
It's quick, easy and safe. The PayPal website is secure, and we
will never get to know your credit card information. Another good
reason to use PayPal is that your registration has no chance of
getting lost in the mail – we'll receive it instantly!
Regular Registration
Between now and December 25, 2008
$75.00 + 2.50 PayPal fees = $77.50 CAD
Late Registration
Between December 26, 2008 and January 21, 2009
$90.00 + 3.00 PayPal fees = $93.00 CAD
Now, let's answer a few questions…
Q. What is included in the registration fee?
A. Access to all the activities, the welcome package, and the
various items handed out during the Convention.
Q. What is not included in the registration fee?
A. Your hotel room, meals, any tourist activities you may want to do
during your stay in Toronto, etc.
Q. What are the PayPal fees mentioned above?
A. On each payment, PayPal charges a transaction fee to the person
who receives the payment - a little over 3% of the total amount
transferred. This may not seem a lot for one person, but with
dozens of registrations, it becomes quite important. Our objective
is not to make profits with the registrations, but simply to cover
all the expenses related to the Convention. Think about it: you
might pay a little extra with PayPal, but you don't have to pay for
the envelope, the stamp and the money order – it's still a very good
deal. Thank you for your understanding.
If you need a place to stay for the weekend, the hotel has offered
us a very good deal – only $99/night! Do not hesitate, rooms are
limited.
If you have any question, do not hesitate and contact us at :

Have a wonderful day, and I hope to see you in February!

Hello everyone!
I'm so glad to talk to you again! Now that the first edition of the
Sue Thomas F.B.Eye Fan Convention is over, I'm sure you all want to
know what happened, and if we've learned anything interesting… In
fact, we did!
We learned that the world of STFBE is inhabited by extremely
generous people. All the lead actors have generously accepted to
autograph items for the raffles and the auction, which helped us to
raise money for two great charities (the Hearing Ear Dog program,
from the Lions Foundation of Canada, and the ASL Dictionary for
Children, from the Deaf Culture Centre).
All the actors have also accepted to participate in a short
interview, answering a few questions in writing. This is how we
learned that one of Yannick Bisson's favourite moments on STFBE was
when they filmed the helicopter coming down in the Distillery
District in the pilot episode. One of Deanne Bray's favourite
movies is "The Sound of Music" because she loves the lyrics. If she
could be a character from Disney, Tara Samuel would be Pocahontas,
because she always wants to be an adventurous warrior. Rick Peters
remembers quite a bit of ASL, and he brushes up his vocabulary
before he visits with Deanne Bray and her husband Troy. Enuka Okuma
was hired from a taped audition, while she was still in Vancouver,
BC. Marc Gomes mentions that the Deaf Culture is similar to the
hearing culture in many aspects, yet with its own sense of humour.
Last, but not least, Ted Atherton was glad to share that he will be
on stage at the Athena Theatre, in the play The Man in the Desert
this spring - http://www.waterlooentertainmentcentre.com for dates
and tickets.
But that's not all! You might not be aware of that, but some actors
have moved to Los Angeles after STFBE. And from what seems to be
the initiative of Enuka Okuma, they all got together to sign the
items we had for them. And while they were together, they filmed
individual greetings for the fans, wishing us a good Convention, and
thanking us for our support. So we had a chance to see Deanne Bray,
with her daughter Kyra and her husband Troy, Enuka Okuma, Rick
Peters, Tara Samuel and Marc Gomes, all over again. Everybody loved
the video, and thank you to the interpreter – Nancie Bowles – who
translated it into ASL.
Now, what really happened at the Convention? On Friday night, we
were extremely lucky! Ted Atherton, our favourite Boston-born,
Harvard-educated FBI agent, visited us. He spent time to talk with
everyone, posing for pictures and signing autographs – he was such a
sweetheart!
Quite a few actors who had guest-starred on STFBE have spent the
whole weekend with us. They were great, and they really helped us
to bridge the gap between English and ASL. Thanks to Sammi
Bourgeois (Amanda), Anselmo DeSousa (Anselmo, in Endings and
Beginnings), Enza Iovio (Melissa Harmon, in In Thin Air), Vida Peric-
Warwick (Hannah, in Who Wants to be a Millionaire) and Lucia Jackson
(Pam, in The Heist).
Saturday afternoon, we were blessed with the visit of Sue Thomas
herself, with her assistant Deborah and her wonderful assistance dog
Katie. She told us about her life, about her experience in the FBI –
yes she had a good male friend in the service, but not as close as
Sue and Jack are on the show – and about her new project to train
assistance dogs in Vermont. She really is a wonderful woman, her
energy and faith touched all of us.
Another guest joined us briefly that afternoon. Her name is Karina
Kulawick, she was the young actress who played Sue at the age of 18
months, in the pilot episode. It was sweet to witness her reunion
with Sue Thomas, she really is a cute girl.
Saturday evening, Sandra Gillis (she is Ted Atherton's agent and
works for Premier Artists) was present to let us know more about her
job. We were very surprised to learn how hard it was to find good
parts for Canadian actors, in Canada!
Tracy Church, a trainer for the Hearing Ear Dog program (the Lions
Foundation of Canada – Dod Guides) was there with Macca. She
explained the intensive training the future dog guides have to go
through, and Macca demonstrated some of her abilities.
The volunteers from the Deaf Culture Centre were also extremely
kind, glad to share a lot of information with everyone at their
booth. It was a great insight to the Deaf Culture, and it was
possible to learn about the various activities that take place at
the Centre.
Naturally, this Convention would not be complete without the raffles
and the auction that helped us to raise money for the two
charities. At the end of the evening, on Saturday, we had raised
over $750! Just to name one, a package that included a jersey
signed by all actors was auctioned for $125!!!
But it's not really over yet… I know some of you have been leery
about this Convention, not completely sure if we would deliver what
we announced. I really hope we have now proven the seriousness of
this Convention. There are still some autographed items left… We
have created ten (10) new wonderful packages for you! You can still
help us to raise more money for the charities, and in return get
some very unique STFBE memorabilia, not accessible anywhere else.
Please, visit our website for more information. Don't wait too
long, or all the interesting packages might be gone…
http://convention.suethomasfbeye.net
Thank you very much for your support!
Katerie
PS. I almost forgot… In their letter to the fans, Gary and Dave
Johnson remind us that at the end of the final episode, it was
written "The End – for now…" They still believe it to be the case…
Hello everyone!
The clock is ticking for the Convention, and it is time for more
updates...
For those who want to be present, do not wait any longer, and
register. *Registration* will be extended to September 7, to give
everyone an additional week if you haven't decided yet.

Hi there!
How are you doing?
WOW! The Convention is coming up rapidly! Barely two months, and
we'll finally meet in Toronto. It's going to be great – I can't
wait to meet you all!
Now, what happened during the last month? Two more actresses have
accepted to be present at the Convention – Ms. Vida Peric and Ms.
Lucia Jackson. Please check out our "Honoured Guests" section for
more details.
Also, I discussed with some actors and their representatives, and
most actors from the main cast of the series have accepted to sign
various items for the charity auction and the raffles. Don't miss
your chance to go back home with a one-of-a-kind prize, autographed
by your favourite actor / actress! Some raffles will be available
online, but some other raffles and the live auction will be
accessible only to those attending the Convention. Don't forget,
all the money raised through the sale of raffle tickets and the live
auction will be donated to charities involved in the Deaf Community
in Ontario, in the name of the Cast and Crew of Sue Thomas F.B.Eye.
Stay tuned, more information on the raffles should be posted soon.
The schedule is beginning to shape up. The first edition of the Sue
Thomas F.B.Eye Fan Convention will be launched on Friday evening
(September 21). There will be various activities on Saturday
afternoon (September 22), and in the evening, there will be booths
dedicated to the actors and characters, and the night will conclude
with the live auction. There are no specific plans for Sunday, but
we can make some, according to everyone's interest – brunch at the
hotel's restaurant, sightseeing in the area, etc.
Registration will close on August 31, 2007, so hurry up if you don't
want to miss your chance of meeting Ms. Sue Thomas in person, since
she will be one of our honoured guests. The hotel has offered us a
great rate for the group, but the rooms have to be booked before
August 21 in order to get the discounted rate.
If you know anyone who might be interested, don't hesitate and
forward this information to them. If you think it might interest
people from other boards, please feel free to spread the word.
Don't forget, the more the merrier. Word of mouth is always the
best method to share good news!
See you then!

Hey everyone!
** quick note --- Don't forget that as of May 1st, the
registration fees for the STFBE Fan Convention will go up to $75.
Take advantage of the low rate and register now! **
Something very special happened last weekend, and I wanted to share
this experience with all of you. I was in Los Angeles and I attended
the play "Sleeping Beauty Wakes", at the Kirk Douglas Theatre. It's
a modern adaptation of the Grimms' classic fairy tale, performed in
both spoken English and ASL - all the lyrics are sung and signed
simultaneously. I really loved it, it was amazing! The actors are
brilliant, the singers have fabulous voices, and the contemporary
sleep-disorder clinic brings hilarious moments.
But what does this have to do with STFBE and/or the Convention?
Well, the cast features both hearing and deaf performers, including
two of our favourite actors, Deanne Bray and Troy Kotsur! They are
excellent! Deanne's characters are so different from the kind and
caring Sue we know, it's a bit weird at first, but she's great! And
Troy… His body language expresses so much, he's simply marvelous! Be
prepared to be surprised - I don't want to say too much, but believe
me, after seeing this play, a wake-up kiss from the Prince Charming
will never mean the same thing again…
For more information, visit the website http://www.deafwest.org/.
The show has been extended until May 20th, but hurry up, it's almost
sold out! And take a minute to look at the pictures on the site -
Deanne is on the second picture, with the dark suit; and Troy is on
the third picture, with the cowboy hat.
After the performance, I met both Deanne and Troy. I was so nervous,
my hands were literally shaking, so imagine what it looked like when
I tried to sign - and the emphasis is on the word tried, because I'm
really not fluent in ASL… Deanne is such an admirable person! She is
so nice, she immediately reminded me of Sue, in STFBE - the same
kindness, generosity and, of course, the smile. When Troy joined us,
she helped me with the translation, to make sure we would understand
each other. I really had a wonderful time discussing with them.
Of course, we talked a little about STFBE, the Convention and the
future… Deanne shared some very interesting information with me… She
said that . . ey . . . . ld . . . i . . . B . . . a . . . .
to . . . . ug . . . Oops! I'm so sorry, my keyboard won't let me say
it because it has not been announced yet, but believe me, it's
something big that should make all the fans ecstatic! I really can't
wait!
Stay tuned, and I hope I'll be allowed to fill out the blanks soon!
Hello everyone!

Hello fellow fans!
Welcome to the Announcement List!
Glad to see so many visitors on our website. Over 700 hits in less
than a month, that's very good!
We know there are a lot of curious people around here. Everybody
wants to know who will be present at the Convention. We can't
mention any names right now, because nothing has been confirmed yet,
but some actors did let us know they were interested to be part of
the Convention - and this includes members from the main cast! That
does not mean they will be present - it all depends on their
schedules - but at least they manifested a sincere interest for the
Convention. That's already a very good thing!
We'll keep you up-to-date as soon as we have more details.
See you soon!
