Great page Rosemary!!!!
Did anyone notice yesterday the Julia has been very busy rearranging her
bedroom. When Woodard went in and stole her notes the bed was turned the
other way and the armoire was also facing the opposite way. Now the bed is
turned around and she has removed that big tapestry off the wall and
replaced it with a more subdued pic over the bed. LOL Also, she got a new
lamp! That Julia, with all she has going on, takes time to redecorate her
bedroom in someone else's house. And isn't it about time for that book on
the Collins Family History to be finished??? I am wondering how they
finally explain her as a doctor.

I know what *I* would have done with that annoying fly
if I'd caught it. I wasn't sure if JF managed to do
that--it didn't seem to be buzzing around as much
after was it? Oh, in case anyone is wondering what I
would do, meanspirited wicked person that I am, that
fly would've fueled the candle some more <evil laugh>.
Singed fingertips don't hurt that long <more evil
laughter>.
As for poor Jerry Lacy, I think he managed to avoid
making a meal out of that fly, but he most definitely
blew (spit? whatever) at it--very audibly. It was
hilarious! Sent that fly sailing into PT, I bet! :)
Later on, I saw flies bug KLS as both Maggie and as
Lady Kitty. Her response was always to make it look
like she was reacting fearfully--she'd put her hands
over her nose. Very delicate and ladylike. You have
to look real close to see that a fly is causing the
reaction. :) Man, no AC? Or the windows were left
open? Or?

Hi Everybody!!
I am sorry this should have been posted a day ago, but anyway, I am here!!!
First off let me say, I LOVE DS and any and everything about it. Next, and I
am sure there are some that can attest to this on this list, but, I also love
humor!! So, quite naturally I HAD to join this list!!! I was compelled. LOL!!
Anyway, a little about me.......
I enjoy making webpages and websites ....ok Cassie, stop snickering LOL!
I also am the WebMistress of the Dark Shadows Tribute Webring...
I am a single mom of a 15 yearold daughter...somebody help!! lol
I also love volunteering....including for the PTA of which they elected me
Pres..poor souls ...
I have been on disability retirement since 1988, where I was employed for
over 20 as a RRT and instructor....before herniating 2 discs and subsequently
having them removed....so more time for the internet for me ;>
I now am totally devoted to the Webrings I run...of which there are 5...
I also am always on the lookout for new and exciting ways to present anything
relating to DS on the web....
There isn't too much more to say, other than, my two loves are the dearest
things to me. And they are, my daughter, Toni, and Dark Shadows. Although
sometimes Toni thinks I have the order wrong. LOL! j/k She is a great kid and
I am very proud of her. Honor roll student and drummer extraordinaire. But
what else could I say? I'm a mother. ;>

Hi, All!
Most the subscribers joined the list before I got around
to editing this Welcome letter. Since it does include some
important info, I thought I would just post it again. So,
here it is:
Hello,
Welcome to the list. So glad you decided to join us here!
This is a place for people who love Dark Shadows but don't
take it (or life in general) all that seriously! Join in
& let us know something about yourself.
Please take a moment to review this message, and keep it for
future reference.

To unsubscribe from this list, go to the ONElist web site,
at <www.onelist.com>, and select the User Center link from
the menu bar on the left. This menu will also let you
change your subscription between digest and normal mode.
Now, for a few basic, mostly commensense rules:
1. If you feel you have been attacked by another lister,
please send a private email to me immediately & we will
work it out. This will not be tolerated here. Experience on
other elists has taught me how common & disgusting this
kind of behavior is.
2. As stated in the description, this is a list for
those 18 & older. As adults, I figure we can all handle
profanity if it is used. Also, as an opponent of
censorship, I will not be censoring such language. This is
just a warning in case you are offended by such language.
3. If enough listers express an interest in a list for
"tongue-in-cheek" fanfic, I will create a CCH fanfic list.
However, I
would prefer we don't use this list for that purpose.
This is a purely personal bias, as I don't generally read
fanfic.
4. Racism, sexism & homophobia will not be tolerated here.
That's it for now as far as "rules" go. I would just like
to add that although I am considered the list's "owner", I
consider it the property of all those who add their charm &
wit to our little community to make it fun.
Thanks,
Kim, aka ShadowWalker

As others have noted, dear Louis is a major source of comic
relief in DS--I simply adore him. The first time my husband
saw him we were both ROFL & my hubby said Roger reminded
him of a gay Nazi w/ that jawline & manner. I laughed &
laughed.
(BTW, this is not meant as an anti-gay comment, as most of
my dearest friends are queer men & I am bi myself--just a
note of explanation to avoid misunderstanding & since the
amended Welcome letter to CCH notes that homophobia is not
welcomed here.)

And don't forget Quentin's unforgettable "cousins" line. There is a man
who claims he's a cousin. Barnabas Cousins.... Barnabas Collins!" I
really laughed on that one.
And BTW did anyone notice in the 1840 timeframe when David Selby, (you know
the "short guy"? hit his head on the doorframe when he left Lamar Trask and
went towards the kitchen? Poor David. I bet that one really hurt!
And one that I really liked was when David Henesy and Denise Nickerson as
"david and amy" were coming down from the upstairs via the secret panel and
wound up in the drawing room, when possessed by the spirit of Quentin.
They had candles and David went to the drawing room door, (which was
partially closed) to listen to voices outside and turned to Amy to blow out
her candle (so no one would suspect anyone was in the room) and it was
already out, but he blew it anyway and gave a sort of grin? And the look
on Denise's face was priceless!
And one more I just thought of. Angelique (in the guise of Alexis) came
down the stairs to greet Quentin and she tripped down the stairs? It is a
wonder the poor lady didn't fall down the stairs! Reminds me of a line
from Young Frankenstein "Stay close to the candles, the staircase can be
treacherous!"
That's all fer now!

You know, when I purchased some of the last of my MPI home video of DS,
(that took me nearly 3 years! lol) I purchased the Blooper video. And
there are so many! Of course there are a lot on the show that didn't make
it to that Blooper Reel!
And I do agree that Louis Edmonds was really good with his bloopers. Such
as the famous "incestors" line, and the one where he explained his car
accident and said that he walked for miles, or something like that! And
then of course his Late Sister Elizabeth!

oooooh oooooh Mr. Kotter, Mr. Kotter! Me toooooooo! Yes, I was another of
those that ran home from school to see Barnabas sink his fangs into still
another neck!
ok I guess I must confess. I am another of those middle-agers! thh thh
But sadly, Cassie, your just a child! I am a wee bit older! <sigh>
Am an accountant for a local hospital, and have a wonderful and beautiful
18 yr old daughter that is about to attend her first prom! The
Junior/Senior Prom this year. (well she finally made it her Senior year!)
And she too is a very avid fan of DS. Gee, I wonder who hooked her onto
that show???? Her fav characters are Quentin, Barnabas, Angelique, Girard
Stiles, and Desmond Collins!

oh my, someone after me heart. When I do get to watch TV, I also watch a
lot of Nick at Nite, (love Bewitched), TV Land, (Emergency and Alias Smith
and Jones, (of which Roger Davis of DS was on for a bit as Joshua Smith),
love St. Elswhere, All in the Family too, and of course Animaniacs! lol

hmmmmmm!
There once was a gal named Cassie,
Who was quite a classy Lassie!
But aged and senile?
Sue said with a smile,
Have respect for your elders, and don't get Sassy!
just a bit of fun there! thh thh
Anyway, Hello to all on this list!
-Sue (too old to mention! thh thh)
Hi Kim! It's nice to see you here.
<< Could it be that the Barnabas-Caroline relationship is our
first substantial evidence of Roger's notorious
"incestors"!? Seems a bit more than cousinly affection,
given vampiric eroticism & all! LOL>>
Tony Peterson sure got that idea didn't he? I always thought that Barrett
and Frid were really sensual together, whether it was Barnabas-Carolyn or
Barnabas-Charity.
Just walked in the door from work and am glad to see this list up and
running. Bloopers are part of what I really love about Dark Shadows--and the
humor, apparent and subtle, too. For instance, I think Louis Edmonds is
absolutely hilarious--he's got just the right delivery for his lines.
Anyway, by way of quick intro: I was one of those kids who ran home to watch
DS so that puts me squarely in the middle of middle age and baby boomerdom.
I am 44, I am an interpreter for the deaf and coordinate interpreting
services at NASA (Goddard Space Flight Center). Been married going on 14
years and have three kids, both flavors, a boy going on 12, a girl 10 and the
baby girl, 7. Um, not such a baby anymore. My husband is a CATI (computer
assisted telephone interviewing) programmer. We also parent a dog, a
charpei-Irish retriever mix named Snuffy, and a cat named Paddiwack.
Other than DS, I watch ER, Everybody Loves Raymond, PBS, TVLand and Nick at
Night--I like the old programs like All in the Family, Hill Street Blues, St.
Elsewhere.
I don't watch much TV though, my husband is the TV hound, I just listen as I
write on the computer. I write fanfic and also participate on several email
lists. Love to read, I am enjoying a re-read of the Diana Gabaldon Outlander
series. And as for music, I guess I like Classic Rock mostly, but I enjoy
lots of different kinds of music--Beethoven, Bach, Dizzy Gillespie, Benny
Goodman, Glenn Miller, doowop, Neil Diamond, Elton John, Billy Joel, Harry
Chapin, the Rolling Stones, the Who, the list goes on and on. Who do I like
that sings now? Probably Celine Dion and Shania Twain and there's another
singer who's last name is McIntyre but for the life of me, I can't remember
her first name.
As Sue would say, I am aged and senile. I think we're the same age, aren't
we?
See ya later, Cassie
Hi, All!
Could it be that the Barnabas-Caroline relationship is our
first substantial evidence of Roger's notorious
"incestors"!? Seems a bit more than cousinly affection,
given vampiric eroticism & all! LOL
Also, just a note, a couple of our initial subscribers
seem to have misentered their email adds, so you may get a
few "mailer daemons" or "undeliverable" messages regarding
your posts. I'm working on this. The rest of us are getting
the posts, tho'.
It's so good to see some familiar names, as well as some
new friends on the list of subscribers. I think we're all
going to have a blast here.
Any of you who feel like doing an intro, they would be
very welcomed. I'll get it started:
I'm 27, married & the mom of a wonderful 6-yr-old girl.
I'm working on my degree in political science & journalism,
& have done journalism work both freelance & for
college/university papers.
Besides DS, I'm into a number of other "cult" TV shows:
Star Trek (esp The Next Generation), The X-Files, Twin
Peaks, MST3K. I got the idea for this list from some ST
lists I recently subscribed to that are aimed at poking fun.
My husband & I are also given to making quips about DS as we
watch together--so much fun!
On the serious side, I'm dedicated to radically leftist
politics & am a radical feminist. My reading list mainly
consists of Noam Chomsky & radical feminist philosopher Mary
Daly. This is my passion.
I'm also into punk rock & hardcore. I won't list the
bands, as I suspect few of you are probably familiar w/ many
of them.
Other than that, I love to meet people online & have made
many great friends around the world in the brief time I've
been on the 'net. I look forward to making some more new
friends here--& keeping up w/ those I've made elsewhere
(like Cassie, Sue & Rosemary--glad to see you, gals!).
Warmest regards,
Kim

I've been sick & offline the last few days, so I'm running
a bit behind & just approved all our subscribers. Sorry.
Make yourself at home--the drawing room is straight ahead
of you, bar to the left!
