What does this have to do with this group? Simple enough: "Sanctuary"
is the first straight-to-the-internet series. As some of you might
have heard, "Farscape" has followed and there'll be webisodes
(minisodes?) produced of that. If "Sanctuary" is successful, it could
open up SO MANY possibilities for GOOD shows cancelled by network
execs who don't even WATCH the show!
At the Vancouver "Gathering of Fans", the authors of "The Collector"
were asked about the straight-to-internet idea, and from their answer,
it seemed like they weren't sure it was a good idea. Let's show them
it IS!! So many good shows could go on for as long as the VIEWERS want
them. So let's help "Sanctuary"!!

Hi Everyone:

It has been a long time since I have posted on this site. I
think it is wonderful that Sylvia, Contessa, Louise, Len, etc.
have decided to carry on with a revised TD Convention.

Unfortunately I wasn't able to be part of this gathering.
A number of unexpected health problems had occurred
this past Winter & Spring requiring that I seek treatment back
east with doctors that I know and trust. Coupled with changes
to my original plans to expand my publicity business, which
had always been planned, I was forced concentrate on my own
personal requirements & needs. I could not spend the 100's &
100's of hours that I had volunteer during the last few years.
I had neither the time nor energy this time round.

Coupled with the fact that a few months ago we were hit with
extreme cost increases, low ticket sales, other directors
announcing they also had to pull out of TD2007 due to personal
reasons, it was obvious that TD2007 could not continue as
planned. We needed to cancel TD2007.

As many Con fans had non-cancelable airline tickets, Sylvia,
other directors and other diehard Con supporters decided to
continue on. The decision was made to cancel all guests invited
to TD2007 coming from outside Vancouver or not working in
Vancouver at the time. That was my job. This meant that Ellen Dubin,
Andrew Jackson, Richard Hatch, Michael McManus, etc. could not come
this year as there were no funds to cover their hotel and travel
expenses. These actors were extremely disappointed that they were
not going meet their old friends this year at TD2007.

Realizing that every effort had to be made to support the revised
plans for TD2007, I did my bit.  I approached all of the Vancouver
actors including Jewel Staite, Rick Faraci, etc. to confirm that
they would continue to attend. Most confirmed that they would
attend. Those who didn't come had acting job commitments.

With the help of Paul Brown and his surprised guests the event
kicked off at Paul's warehouse, to be followed by picnics, Q &A's,
workshops, etc. This is continuing to carrying on as I write this
posting.

Special thanks should be given to Andrew Jackson who spent
hours & hours editing last year's TD2006 tapes so that the 8 hours
of TD2006 discs were available to the fans at this revised TD Con.
this year.

Again congratulations to those who continued on and with the TD
spirit.

We are extremely thrilled that the producers & writers of the
Collecter TV series and So Weird TV series, Jon Cooksey & Ali
Matheson, will be coming back to TD2007. Expect to see them on both
The Collector panel & the writer's panel.

They will be our #21 & #22 guests coming to TD2007.

The Collector series is shown in over 60 countries with the UK joining
the list recently. The Collector will be seen in the USA this Fall.

I'll be donating one of my duplicate scripts (I have doubles for 1348AD and
The Old Man, maybe one other but I forget) to the charity auction at
Timeless Destinations this summer, so if you want to get your paws on one,
come party for a week! ;)  The other duplicate(s) will be saved for
auction-donations in the future.  I feel that donating to the charity
auctions is the best course or action for "sharing the wealth".  That way,
another fan gets an item AND Make-A-Wish gets some money :)  Donated one of
Gabe's drawings last year!

A sweet deal, indeed, Beth. I'm SO jealous!

Today in the mail I got crapload of Collector stuff:  paperwork, props,
scripts, and script revisions.  It's so freaking awesome!

Props are:  a perscription of Morgan's for Ambien (what the heck was he
doing taking that?!?!?), the Katrina photo and envelope it came in, Morgan's
keys (so now I have those AND his address...hmmm), some stalker photos that
Jeri supposedly took, and his old cell-phone from the flashbacks in The
Mother.  There was also an unusual videotape labelled "Collector TV Snow --
for playback" or something like that.  I thought it was written wrong, but
it really is snow.  Wonder what that was for.

The scripts are all loose and unfortunately I suspect that The Ice Skater is
out of order.  D'oh!  But I love reading scripts so very much.  Enjoyed The
Tour Guide in script form more than watching the episode on TV ;)

Although theoretically I can now add three new filming locations to my list,
one of them is labelled as a private home, and I suspect one of the others
is too, so I will NOT list them.  The third is fine though!

I suspect the person I got this from used to work on the show, but he failed
to reply to that specific part of the e-mail I'd sent him back after he
contacted me outside of eBay, where I'd originally purchased just ONE script
and a few random bits of Collector paperwork.  I was the only bidder, so he
sold me his lot!  Very very reasonable price, too.  And worth every penny!

I should open a museum ;););)
