Claire Thurstans, 16, was among those who impressed the Australian Idol,judges on March 25 ,at the Derwent Entertainment Centre
and made it to the next round

The Rosny College student said she had spent weeks preparing for the audition.

"It's my dream to be a singer," Claire said.

She described her style as acoustic-pop, influenced by past masters including Small Faces, Velvet Underground and Bob Dylan.

Claire sang:

You Make Me Feel Like A Natural Woman by Carole King,
Joyful, Joyful from the movie Sister Act 2,
and an original piece.
