Subject: Joseph "Lucky" Lambing - Funeral Arrangements

Hi all,
It's with the heaviest of hearts that I pass on to you the passing of my Dad, Joseph "Lucky" Lambing.

He battled non-hodgkins lymphoma for 10 years(he was told 8 years), and was on protocol drugs(experimental) which are now approved for other people.  One of the possible side effects of the drugs was leukemia.  He was diagnosed with pre-leukemia in January 2007, and my world came crashing down.  They told him he had six months to a year.  That gave me all the more reason to keep training for the Nashville Marathon while raising money for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.  I raised $8269.

The end of January 2008, he was told the drug, Dacogen, that he was on for the Leukemia was not working, so they would try a "sister" drug, viadaza.  This year, I tried to campaign for Man of the Year and raised about $3300 for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, compared the man that won, $213,000.  I was blown away but so happy at the same time because all of that money goes towards finding a cure for these horrible blood cancers.

Joseph "Lucky" Lambing, a resident of Ottsville for the past 28 years, died Sunday, July 27, 2008, at Fox Chase Cancer Center with friends and family at his side, after a 12-year battle with cancer. He was 66.

He was the husband of A. Lorraine Lambing.

Born and raised in Bensalem on Dec. 10, 1941, he was the son of Jacob and Eva Lambing. Lucky graduated from Father Jude in 1959.

Lucky served as a tech sergeant with the U.S. Air Force Reserve, 913th Air Lift Wing.

Lucky was a life member of Nottingham Fire Co. and held various officer positions since the age of 16. He was a parishioner of St. John the Baptist Church, Ottsville, a member of Knights of Columbus, Father Stommel Council 4545, and American Legion Post 0399. Joe also served on the Bedminster Land Conservancy Committee.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by three sons, Peter and his wife, Lois, of Fairless Hills, Bill of Ottsville, and Steven and his wife, Melanie, of Quakertown; three grandchildren, Ava, Jacob and Jessica; and one sister, Nancy Fallon.

Thanks to all who have supported our family in this time of grief.  I am sorry if I haven't gotten back to you or this is the first time you are hearing of this.  It's only because my father was the coolest, strongest and most stubborn guy in the world that made people happy===he had an effect on everyone that he met.  As for this mass email, if I made phone calls, I think I would be on the phone for 24 hrs and 7 days straight.
