Description

The greatest 1960’s black-and-white macabre anthology, hosted and sometimes played by horror maestro Boris Karloff; created by Hubbell Robinson (for Revue Studios at Universal) and produced by Fletcher Markle, Maxwell Shane and, above all, William Frye for NBC during two seasons (1960-1962). For all fans of the supernatural, gothic, horror, film noir, suspense and mystery or those who merely enjoy the artistry of crafstmen such as cinematographers Benjamin H. Kline, Lionel Lindon, John L. Russell, Bud Thackery, John F. Warren, and also composers as Jerry Goldsmith, Peter Rugolo (theme music), Morton Stevens. Revue Studios produced such shows as Alfred Hitchcock Presents, M Squad, Suspicion, Johnny Midnight, Staccato, The Alfred Hitchcock Hour.

“The essential element of true horror, as opposed to so-called horror, is fear. Fear of the unknown and of the unknowable.”
Boris KARLOFF
