Hi..I agree that I do not find Jonathan as annoying as others.  I am a 40 year old married housewife who has a huge crush on him!  Haven't had a crush in about 20 years so am having fun with it.  I feel he is very well rounded.  Yes, he can be aggressive, conceited, etc. but he has a very touching emotional side that evens that up.  I feel he is trying to be tough in a tough world but has a hard time with it because he is a softy inside.  I think he may not have had a lot of attention growing up and feels low of himself..seems his sister raised him and he didn't have the parenting he needed and the encouragement, hugs, etc.  That will mess you up as an adult.  Been there.  Do you know who REALLY annoys me?  Kimberly!  Yes, yes, the one with the baby is a bit annoying with her..she really does need to leave her family life at home...it is a shame but a fact..most women can't bring their kids to work and breastfeed in the break room..it is NOT professional but not a crime either.  Kimberly seems very jealous of her because she IS a better stylist and I feel she just picks on her for anything and everything she can find.  I wish she would get OVER the New York thing already.  She is really getting on my nerves with that over and over.  She sounds so catty and needs to tone it down.  I am hoping after Jonathan watches the show he will fire her butt!  She needs to grow up.  Laurie :o)

If I were paying a minimum of $300 for a hair cut, I would want to be
in a beautiful, comfortable setting. Jonathan's salons are so plain,
they're ugly: one station, after another, set up just like a $10.00
hair cut place. Where's the privacy, the pampering? This program
shows that if you charge enough, people will flock to you no matter
what.

Also, why is Jonathan considered a "celebrity" hair stylist. Celebrity
to me means more famous people than the young girl from "Arrested
Development". I've only seen "C" and "B" celebrities on Jonathan's
show. The most well known celeb has been Lisa Rienow in last night's
episode. I guess she qualifies as a celebrity, but it's not as if he's
doing Nicole Kidman's hair. Jonathan is all hype; he's a legend in his
own mind.

I watch the show, because it's like watching a train wreck. You know
you shouldn't be looking, but it's difficult to turn your attention
away.

Jonathan Rules!

Yeah I said it. So here's the deal... I think some of you probably
don't consider things a bit more closely when you judge
Jonathan...... the reason Jonathan might come off to some of you as
an "ASSHOLE" is because he is in an image driven business. Not only
is he in an image driven business but he is also in business for
HIMSELF in Beverly Hills/West Hollywood where you only have ONE
chance to get it right. Therefore, the man HAS to be quite "anal"
about EVERYTHING because it is his ASS, his NAME, and his REPUTATION
that's on the line.

Sure, he can be a bit more diplomatic and less brash about things but
let's face it...... that's just not his style. He is direct and
honest and I personally find that extremely refreshing no matter what
side of the fence he's on. Let me go further to say that not only do
I find his directness refreshing, but also that it is required if you
are to survive out there for the long-term. It's that simple folks.
Beverly Hills is full of pompous wannabes because it is so dog eat
dog out there and only those with the thickest skin survive.

Why do I have this particular view on things? Well, I for one have a
few things in common with Jonathan and thus I can easily relate.
Like him, I too am a die-hard perfectionist (maybe it's because I'm a
LEO... who knows). Anyway, my personal philosophy is that there's
only one way to do things right. Secondly, I too am trying to open
up an image driven business in West LA. No, I am not a hair designer
(although I am currently looking for some highly talented ones to
establish a long-term partnership).....

What I am is a fashion/glamour photographer...... and my industry is
no different than Jonathan's..... matter of fact, they are quite
related.... so when you are working in this particular industry you
simply can't get into the habit of cutting people slack... the
economics and undue stress of doing so is a fatal prescription that
can undermine your business ..... remember folks ... we are talking
about an image driven business here... so it's all about finding the
right people who share your personal vision and work ethic.... you
must have an undying passion for this kind of work and you must learn
to use it for the better of your talent and profession.

I have a lot of respect for Jonathan and I am sure I will bump into
him sometime after I get my West LA office established. When I do I
will be sure to give him a thumbs up. It took him 20 years to get to
where he is today and there's something positive to be said about
that.

It's nice to meet you all :)

I never liked her anyway...she was always so insecure and needy.  However I don't much care for Kiara either.  I would love for the product designer to punch Jonathan.  He whines that everyone wants something from him.  I would love to tell him "Hey, wake up, smell the coffee Jonathan - you're the one that wants things and it has to be your way, ;you are a spoiled baby and don't care about people's feelings."

By the way I did a google and his product does exist.

What is up with Kimberly, she sat around pouting for 2 days because of
the New York thing. The girl has to realize that she is a new stylist
and she is going to be treated differntly than Jason and Kiara. And
for her saying that she should have been chosen because she does not
have a child. What a baby, I no longer like her.

This did not post the first time I sent it--sorry for the duplication
if it ever does.

I saw Jonathan on QVC several weeks ago with his product line. So he
is hocking it on TV.

I saw the girl from last season with the pink hair as a host on some network show a few weeks ago.  I see now that the new season started she is not there with Jonathan anymore.  Does anyone know what their "differences" were? Laurie

I'm real disappointed by the new season premiere...the girls first
attracted me to the show and I got hooked on the small business soap
opera. Johnathan was both a villain and protaganist and it was about
everyone working there.

But now Elizabeth, his new assistant is gone with a mention, and so is
Alicia and others :( The focus seems to be on Johnathan more now and
it looks like it's becoming a reality show about him. It's no thrill to
watch him admire his own work after he's done someone's hair...
yeeeesh...you can actually see his head get bigger.

Speaking of his hair...I don't think he's wears a toupee`...but I'd say
his girlfriend serves a similar purpose...she's beard, if anyone knows
that term.

To me the most interesting things in the previews were Cindy Margolis'
cleavage and seeing Johnathan's product line possibly tanking. They
should have Brandon open a place across the street lol

Now that the show's producers realize Anton's beating up on
assistant
Kimberly doesn't make him very sympathetic, they've added a 'product
line' launch to generate the necessary tension.

Anton's call that he would HAVE to miss his party and fly to
Baltimore
for an R&D meeting with the manufacturer the very next day appeared
contrived and rehearsed.

The show wants us to believe that launching the products, with its
arbitray deadlines, etc., puts Anton's salons, house and even his
leased Mercedes at risk, while forgetting to mention that most joint-
ventures or partnerships with celebrities contain clauses limiting
the celebrity's liability. If Anton is providing anything more than
the use of his name and product feedback in this venture, I'd be
surprised. No doubt Anton would say "All I have IS my name," and
he may be right. But if the line doesn't work out, it's doubtful
he's at any real personal risk - he'll still have his show which is
putting mega-bucks into his pocket.

Well,I'm not a hair stylist,sorry if I gave that impression.I'm
single divorced for many years and live in St Louis (in the same zip
code as another member here who uses it in their login name). I used
to work at a small business and managed a crew of people, but it
wasn't a salon,not even a Great Clips lol.

But it was a cool show, the hair and Beverly Hills just added to the
flavor of the show for me. - Tim

Hi
I'm in my early 40s and never watch Reality Shows, but stumbled on
Blow Out on MSNBC. Kiara held my attention, as did the other
girls...but I started getting into it. I've been an employee in a
small business like the stylists and also managed a staff of people
like Johnathan has (of course it wasn't beauty salons lol).

Anyway it's a cool show and I watched the whole marathon and got
caught up. It's a shame it's not as popular as the other Reality
Shows, but I like the documentary style. Unlike most of theme with the
cheesy music,logos etc.

Cool Group and like everyone,I'm looking forward to Season 2

Well hello all!
I just saw this show for the first time tonight and I am floored! I
LOVE IT! lol ....
Jonathan is really good looking and has so much to give, he's awesome!
I am an at home mother of a two year old, I do my hairdressing on the
side. You know, watching this has really reminded myself of my actual
potential and how much hairdressing is such a big part of myself.
Well I just thought I'd say that...

Brandon was fired and Jonathan assistant's name was Kimberly. In my
opinion, Jonathan just did not want to let any of his stylists have
a little fun in the shop. Now just a little fun wouldn't hurt but
you have to admit, Brandon pulling his shirt and exposing himself to
others in the salon was really unprofessional.

What I also thought was unfair was that Jonathan got to have an
assistant to himself. No one else got one. I mean come
on.....there should have been more hired then and there and of
course they tell about the six week later that assistants were hired
for shampooing.

Oh well, I don't know if Blow Out will return either. Will see.

Later,

Jon
