That was great, Alex.

I hope you don't mind, I also grabbed the newer Italian version of the
opening titles. The only thing was, the music... it just wasn't bionic
enough for me ;-)

I took the liberty of creating my own audio for the clip.

It's a "Bionicfans" exclusive!

(in other words, I probably won't be posting it on YouTube)

Let me know what you think :)

She pretty! And here is here website: http://www.bevinprince.com/ I didn't
read anything there yet that says she is the new Bionic Woman. I have this
feeling, based on what Andrew has said, that it will be a new Bionic Woman and
NOT Jaime Sommers.

Tom

P.S. I still love Lindsay Wagner and Jaime Sommers (Jaime's first name spelling
corrected).

I got this from IMDB Pro. Its Bionic Woman 2007 page says that Bevin

Prince has been casted in the lead role for NBC's new BW piliot. The

character is hust listed as the Bionic Woman, not Jamie Sommers. Most

of her prior work as an actress has been a recuring role on One Tree

Hill as a cheerleader. You have to subscribe to IMDB Pro.

Hi Adam, I absolutely loved your newer version, and I totally agree with
you: the music of that opening titles has very little to do with bionics.

has a Bionic reference.
49 DOWN: "Jaime Sommers Employer" It was really cool to see.

[David:] One of my favorite "Bionic Woman" scenes. Went something like
this. She starts to tussle with Big Foot (similar to how Steve Austin would
have). He shoves her to the ground or something. She says something like,
"Ouch, no more of *that*!", and proceeds to pretend to be unconscious so
that Bigfoot will carry her to his superiors.

I found it to be both humorous and a perfect example of how the Steve and
Jaime characters are different from each other. Note: Not one "better"
than the other, just "different". Which makes sense considering Steve's and
Jaime's very different backgrounds pre-bionics plus their differing
temperaments in general. If anything, at times it seems more like an
"opposites attracting" sort of thing than anything else. But due to good
acting from Wagner and (somewhat better acting than usual from) Majors, the
"chemistry" between the two was totally believable. Enough so that it
totally frustrates me when I realize just how infrequently we get to them
together all-in-all, and was probably the worst thing about "BW" going to
another network for its third and final season as from that point on they
didn't even *mention* each other anymore.

[David:] There was a similar (if not *worse*) bit of dialogue in the episode
of "Bionic Woman" (I can't recall the episode title at the moment) where
someone has figured out a way into the OSI's computer banks. Oscar is on
the phone, I believe, discussing this with someone, saying something akin
to, "Our databases have been compromised! Do you know what this means? Our
(bionic?) agents are in danger! Jaime. Max. We've got to discover who's
behind this."

"Max"?

Oscar is more concerned about Max's safety at a time like this than he is
Steve's?

That's the moment that I realized the shifting of "BW" over to NBC had
pretty much severed all ties between the two series. (They did mention
Steve in the "Bionic Dog" episode, which was very early in the season, first
or second episode, I believe. I *think* this was the last time they
mentioned Steve on "BW", but I might be wrong about that. I couldn't tell
you when was the last time Jaime was mentioned on "SMDM" although it might
have been the last episode that she actually guest-starred in. I don't
recall Steve talking about her very much, when she wasn't around, even when
the two shows were on the same network. That Steve. Such a player...) :)

That's easy: "Ventura Air Force Base School". Oh wait, I'll bet they
meant her *part-time* job. That answer, of course, would be only
*three" letters.

Reminds me of an episode of "Who Wants To Be A Millionaire" where a
guy lost for not knowing "What government organization did TV's Steve
Austin, "The Six Million Dollar Man", work for?" The choices were
(If I recall): FBI, OSI, CIA, IRS (?). The guy used his lifeline and
still lost. Sucker! That's what he gets for watching "Sonny & Cher"
on Sunday nights in the 70's.

Hello! May I join in...new lurker JUST LOVING THIS! Had this board
been around when I watch BW/SMDM my mother would have only seen me
when the shows were on...

I was told to briefly describe my BW/SMDM backgroud...I can't quite
remember what the welcom letter said but I did want to comment. I did
see both shows in the origianal and like many have commented, Cyborg
was NOTHING like what we ended up with. AND I too caught all the
cutting the networks did to fit the shows to the new rerun slots. We
had a Bionic Hour where I came from (reruns); the newtwork would
alternate shows which really worked for the Bigfoot epis and Fembot
epis and of course all the "The Bionic Woman" epis on SMDM.

I HATE that they cut them down. Talk about having memory issues...I'd
watch and go, "Wait!! What happen to..?" I thought I was loosing my
mind. I don't think I EVER saw again the scene at the tree after
Jaime "became bionic" and she carved their initials in the tree with
her finger. That's what I remember. I'm totally confused about cut
DVD's/tapes, regions, etc. Price is not option at this point--I would
love the S&J stuff more than anything else...such a sucker for a good
romance.

Anyway, my comment was (and I was just watching this on YOUTUBE --
thank God for YOUTUBE) Didn't Gillian (SANDY DUNCAN!! What a kick!)
Come and get Jaime in the BF epi? And I loved that the first Bigfoot
epi did show Jaime in Steve's memories! 'Course she called Oscar in
the middle of his assignment!! ahahaha! "I thought I'd just call and
chat.." Oscar: Uhh...he's a little busy right now.. Me: Yeah, that's
him right there getting launched across the trees by a big hairy dude
that looks like my uncle Victor. Say "hi" Steve! Jaime's calling.

I remember that their fighting styles were suppose to be different.
That was the point of BW. She was a girl. She didn't hit so
much...she threw things. Hee hee hee. Were they opposites as far as
emotions...?? Hmmmm. I never thought that. I always like to believe
they just knew each other SO WELL that they played off each other.
You know like your BESTEST (yes, I know) friend or the love of your
life. You finish each other sentences, you know what the other is
thinking...I think Steve was a totally different person around her.

I mean she was the one who was sassy and joked. He came around and
immitated Bogart to get her attention. Now is THAT Steve Austin? or
in the Bionic movies...Jaime: we better put a wiggle in our walk...
Steve: Well, you go first, I like to watch you wiggle!
C'mon! That is NOT the cerebrial (spell?) serious, Col that we got.

Jaime: How come you think we never talked about this before
Steve: Its too scaaary! (what a nut! I just wanted to bite him)

Any, hello again...yes I talk a lot. Email me if anyone has uncut
info! I'd love you forever. I wrote one company...at the bottom of
this message board...they said they were uncut, American...is that
true?

Thanks for letting me ramble
Me!

Well, I think we've been snubbed by Carl Franklin and his Fembots.

A member of the Bluegrass Conservancy did respond to the email inquiry I had
in regards to Michael Burns. She said she or her female colleague would be
happy to forward an email regarding the conservancy to Michael Burns since
there was no way to email him directly. Once I told her, however, that my
questions were related not to the conservancy but instead to Michael Burns'
starring role as Dr. Carl Franklin in the Bionic Woman episodes, the board
member ignored me completely. I have emailed her and the colleague but with
no response from either.

So apparently, either Michael Burns does not want to reach out to his fans,
or the Bluegrass Conservancy is jealous that one of their members is getting
special attention thanks to bionics.

Hi Jay,

I stumbled upon it by accident. I was googling for recent pics of Michael
Burns to submit to the bionic wiki and came across a staff page with
instructors office phone numbers and email. It was from a collge in Mass.

I looked at the picture and it was definitly him. Even his IMDB page had him
listed as retired from acting to become a college professor.

Anyway I emailed and it bounced back saying he retired two.

Damn!!!

So I did a bit more googling and found that he's on some board committe in
KY. I've been too busy to pursue finding him since then but considering that
he's a trustee on a board committe, he should have another webpage with
contact info.

Hope that helps.

How does one go about gathering behind the scene production
information on specific episodes ? I'm very interested in learning
about the production of Fembots in Las Vegas to submit to the Bionic
Wiki. As far as I know Arthur Rowe "the screnwriter" has passed away
years ago.

I did however e-mailed the actor Michael Burns (Carl Franklin) if our
e-mail conversations go well, perhaps he can share some behind the
scenes insight. That's all I have to go on for now.

Is there any other online references that I can look into ?

good go. Thank You for the effort.
I often wonder why we dont here from more of the actors and extras that worked
on these shows. Are they all living on another planet. or maybe they have their
heads burried in the sand. Who knows? But as long as we keep reaching out we are
bound to get some positive response along the way.

articles ?

How does one go about gathering behind the scene production
information on specific episodes ? I'm very interested in learning
about the production of Fembots in Las Vegas to submit to the Bionic
Wiki. As far as I know Arthur Rowe "the screnwriter" has passed away
years ago.

I did however e-mailed the actor Michael Burns (Carl Franklin) if our
e-mail conversations go well, perhaps he can share some behind the
scenes insight. That's all I have to go on for now.

Is there any other online references that I can look into ?

I would still give Michael Burns the benefit of the doubt until
proven otherwise.

Perhaps it was that board member that snubbed you.

Believe me I know how it feels to be snubbed by a stuck up committee.

I would wait a few weeks and then try again with adifferent approach.

Perhaps take a collection from other fans and offer it as a donation
to their cause (only if they allow you to talk to Michael Burns).

Marcelo,

Ebay is always a good place to start looking for scripts.

I'd also like to put a general shout out to anyone that has Bionic scripts.
One of the Wiki's primary goals is accuracy. There are details, like the
spelling of words, names, locations, etc. that can only be confirmed through
the original text. There may also be enlightening scenes that never made
into the Bionic canon.

I'm prepared to pay the bucks on eBay, but if those of you who have scripts
can scan or photocopy them and send them my way, you'd be assisting in a
most worthy effort.

Rod,

The Bionic Showdown summary is excellent. Thanks! I'm going to be focusing
on the "Wanted Pages" (http://bionic.wikia.com/wiki/Special:Wantedpages).
It's time to clear up all those red links!

A reminder to all: seeing RED on a wiki is a golden opportunity to create a
new page of information -- even if it's just one line of text or an image.

Mark,

I'm very distressed to hear this. I've not had any direct dealings with
Angela or any of the other Wikia admins, so I cannot speak from experience.
At first, I was concerned that this was, in some way, related to your
activities on the Bionic Wiki -- I'm relieved to hear that it is not (they
would have to deal with the "Bissasquatch" in that event). ;)

Still, nobody deserves to be treated in the way you describe. It's simply
unacceptable. If you have not already done so, I would urge you to make
your grievance known by emailing Angela directly and her co-founder &
Chairman, Jimmy Whales. Here are their Wikia profiles with all necessary
information:

http://www.wikia.com/wiki/User:Angela

http://www.wikia.com/wiki/User:Jimbo_Wales

As for our Bionic Wiki, I hope you'll reconsider your boycott and continue
your participation. Your contributions have been great. It would be a sad
loss if you stopped now. Frankly, I don't see the sense in it: if the
admins at YahooGroups treated you poorly, would you stop participating in
our discussion? Surely not.

So please reconsider. I can't speak for Wikia.com but I can guarantee you
that such behavior would NEVER be tolerated on the Bionic Wiki -- it would
be met with a Bionic swiftness.

Here in Milwaukee, our TV and Radio critic referenced our heroes in today's
Milwaukee JournalSentinel:

STEVE AND JAIME: Tuesday's assertion from MSNBC's Tucker Carlson that rocket
scientist Lisa Nowak's arrest in the astronaut love triangle yarn is the
"most twisted love story in the history of the space program" led Inside TV
& Radio to ponder No. 2.

One wag suggests it could be the Steve (Lee Majors) Austin /Jaime (Lindsay
Wagner) Sommers romance.

He was a fake astronaut and she was a fake tennis star rebuilt with millions
of fake dollars' worth of '70s technology on "The Six Million Dollar Man"
and "The Bionic Woman," and a couple of reunion TV movies.

While that's close - you can debate whether all the disco-era hardware
renders it twisted - it might be that the Lisa Nowak saga is the only
twisted love story in the history of the space program.

For the record, the liberal Air America talk radio network is being sold to
New Yorker Stephen Green for $4.25 million, which would make it $1.75
million cheaper than Steve Austin's remake.

Morning BionicFans and BionicFans everywhere!

Newbie! Welcome! Me too! You know I hadn't paid much attention to
this story...WAAAAY too much drama...but I got to thinking about how
many "hits" the net has been taking just by looking up the
word "Astronaut" and I went, "Damn! This is a bad time to look up
BW/SMDM stuff!"

I am on my own Galaxy Quest (LOVE that movie) for a portable dvd
player that is multi-region free AND those pesky dvds. I begin to
wonder how much more difficult it may just get.

"70's technology" Yeah yeah yeah ... when a computer was heavy enough
to tie to someone's feet and drown them with and the screens were as
big as your palm. To us who could barely afford tape recorders (and I
mean the ones with the handles!!) BW & SMDM were high tech! Sheesh,
one day when people are teleporting...what will they say about the
car! "Your parents use to have one of those things with WHEELS hu?"

I tell ya!
Welp I'm off...my day to reek havoc! Wish me luck, its raining here!
Me!

[David:] Well, at least in the "Wonder Woman" example there's still a bit of
internal logic there. I mean, if the television version of Wonder Woman's
transformation sequence is contingent upon her "spinning" like she usually
does, well, she was certainly "spinning" as she rolled down that hill. She
just didn't have her arms out like she usually does. :)

(The whole "Wonder Woman spin" certainly was silly in many ways but was also
clearly the most distinctive signature element of that series, enough so
that for many folks that's the only thing they really remember about the
series. Plus, DC actually dropped the earlier visual they had been
using--Diana Prince twirling her magic lasso around herself from head to toe
or vice versa, magically transforming her clothes that way--in favor of the
"spin" for while.)

(Also, while the early, almost "striptease" style spin they did on the very
earliest episodes of the television series was certainly, um, interesting, I
have to say that I prefer the more well known "explosion" version they did
for most of the series. Have to imagine that it'd be hard to do that
quietly, though. Kind of like Captain Marvel's "SHAZAM!" followed by magic
lightning and thunder transformation. "Was that thunder? The sky's
perfectly clear.") :)

The Wonder Woman spin was created by Lynda Carter.
The show was looking for a way for her to switch from
Yeoman Prince into Wonder Woman. TPTB liked her
idea and went with it.

The reason the spin was changed to a large BANG was
logistical. It was much more difficult to take the
clothes slowly off, and each step had to be filmed
seperately. By having her spin and KABOOM! she is
Wonder Woman, they were able to do it in two shots,
first in her normal clothes, second as Wonder Woman.

with her famous spin into her super hero persona. It was in Amazon Hot
Wax. She was outside the door of some guys office when she realized
she would need her super human strength. When she starts to spin the
guy walks out of his office and sees the shadow of her spinning. She
stops just in the nick of time before he realizes what is going on. Oh
yeah, I just remembered in The Boy Who Knew Her Secret, he also saw her
change completly into Wonder Woman. She later uses her magic lasso to
make him forget. She tells him it will better if he just forgets, even
though he promises never to tell of her secret identity. She tells him
he might slip up someday and accidently let it out.
