Our childhood's future is now.  I'm sure when some of us older bionic fans
watched SMDM and BW as kids, who would have thought that bionics would be a
reality?

Although Time Magazine's Nov. 23 issue does not outright reference our bionic
shows, it does mention such words as "bionic" and "cyborg" in at least 4 of its
50 best inventions of 2009, which you can also review at
http://www.time.com/time/specials/packages/completelist/0,29569,1934027,00.html.

Of bionic interest from this list are

#18 - The $20 knee (a gross downgrade from a $6 million man!)
#23 - The Cyborg Beetle
#26 - Robo Penguin
#43 - The Eyeborg
#47 - The Fashion Robot (reminiscent of the Fembots)

An honorable mention goes to #10 - The Electric Eye, which ended up receiving
the highest rating (click on Poll Results).

Check 'em out! Jay

I was there.. It was awesome and I 'll send a post about it at a later time. the
only "reunion" was seeing Lindsay, Richard and Janice Whitby at their tables.

Lindsay's talk was on Saturday; Richard's was on Sunday. The three were
available for formal shots together or separately.

Take care
Lori

Did you just want to read the menus for your own benefit? It really isn't
necessary as you can operate them perfectly without being able to read
them.

If you play around with the menus, you will be able to figure them out w/o
translation software.

I have the same DVD sets, Season 1 & Season 2 from the UK & Season 3 from
Germany. All the episodes are very clear & seem to be uncut. They are
very enjoyable to watch. It is so nice to be able to watch them so crystal
clear. I also Season 1 & Season 2 of The Six Million Dollar Man from the UK.
The transfers to DVD don't seem to be as good as The Bionic Woman but it
is still great to be able to watch them uncut & reasonbly clear. I haven't
yet bought Season 3 of The Six Million Dollar Man from Germany because
apparently that set for whatever reason does not include the "Bigfoot"
episodes. I have been waiting to see if it was released elsewhere but to my
knowledge it has not. I am probably getting ready to buy it just because it
doesn't seem like it is going to be released elsewhere.

So I guess the OBW gang's all here, huh??

Hey, gang: Ever thought about something? It seems to me there's a necessary
skill to watch our favorite bionic shows: You have to look past the old "high
tech" stuff and enjoy the stories. I also have to say that Six gets old faster
than Woman due to Six's just jumping into the "plot," such as some of them are,
without any human preamble, but rather, perfers to weave that in later, while
Jaime is always reluctant to play the boys' spy games, which is very refreshing
after watching a number of Steve's adventures back-to-back, where it can often
sound like they just wrote some "spy-tech babble" and came up with a thin veneer
of a premise. Of course some of Jaime's missions were pretty hokey, too.
Ultimately, both shows are very entertaining, and Lindsay's is inspiring, and
just that much more fun to watch now that I know her personally.

Write back soon...

Hi Everyone,

Just when I thought my year couldn't get any better, I received an
e-mail a few months back from Janice Whitby, the actress that played
Katy (Fembot #1) on the "Kill Oscar" trilogy, thanking me for making a
fansite that I created a year prior in her honor. Sure enough, Janice
turned out to be a class act and due to her upcoming first convention
appearance at MegaFest (along with Lindsay Wagner and Richard Anderson),
I felt inspired to recreate and revamp the fansite and go dot com with
it.

Things just got better from there on when Jan generously collaborated
with me submitting additional material and her skills as a professional
graphic designer was priceless.

The newly revamped (and now authorized) fansite is still evolving and
expanding. but nevertheless, the time has come to go public and I
proudly unveil the new and improved fansite honoring Janice Whitby's
illustrious career in showbiz.

Feel free to visit:

www.janicewhitby.com <www.janicewhitby.com>

This fansite also contains exclusive behind the scenes trivia on fembots
and the Kill Oscar trivia.

Also, I linked every relevant Bionic Related websites on the "links"
page. If there's any Bionic webmasters and websites that I left out,
feel free to contact me and I'll be happy to add your website.

Hi bionic fans, hi Ben! I'm Luciana, I'm 34 and I'm Italian. I'm a fan of the
Bionic Woman, since I was 6-7 years old. As Ben, when the show finished, I have
forgotten all episodes but Jaime has always had a place in my heart. Some years
ago I found a photo of Lindsay Wagner in a newspaper and I have hung it on the
wall of my bedroom. Even if my only recollections were a skinny blond girl, with
long hair, very strong, that could run faster than a car and jump higher than
everyone, and that she had a german shepherd, I feel to love her as I did when I
was a child. Finally this summer, on 22th July (I cannot forget this date)I
found on television an episode of the Bionic Woman (it was the second part of
the Bionic Dog). Since that day I have rewatched all episodes, I've bought dvd
and now I hope to partecipate to Lindsay's workshop, because I really would like
to meet her and I've red a lot about her studies on philosophy, psycology and
holistic medicine. I think it should be a very important experience.
As Ben, I write on Steven Lutz' Official bionic Woman and OSMDM websites (I'm
jaimesommers75)and I like them!
:) Luciana

was told that she was, but that times had not yet been set. Still no updates on
the site.

Take care
Lori

Hi, everyone. I'm Ben, and I am a huge Bionic Woman fan as well as a
moderate Six Mil one. I'm 41, and started watching Lindsay just after I
turned eight, when her second season began (on my birthday, curiously
enough, though I didn't see that one, the second half of Six's Return of
Bigfoot episode).

What I love about the show is its main character's gentleness in the
context of action every bit as heart-pounding as anything I've ever
loved. Because of twists and turns on my life's path (which I'll share
with individuals by private e-mail if you're interested) I forgot all
about the show after I stopped watching (pretty much toward the end of
the second season) and didn't think about it again until I saw Lindsay
in a Sleep # Bed ad, at which point all the memories came flooding back.
Almost alone among my memories of anything, these were 100% positive,
bathed in what I figured was the halcyon glow of an idealized memory of
childhood -- that is until I picked up a complete set of DVDs (on eBay).
Having missed 2/3 of the show's run, I should have been worried that
quality might have slipped, or been erratic all along. But somehow I
knew that wouldn't be a problem. AND IT WASN'T!! I love all but a few
episodes, and have been so moved by the show that I've traveled to
Mexico to attend one of Lindsay's "Quiet the Mind, Open the Heart"
workshops, as well as attending Fansource 2007, at which I first met
her, presenting her with a complete episode guide -- really more like
reviews with spoilers and (mostly positive) judgments. She just loved
it, and we have become good friends, with me being among the few
individuals who work with her one-on-one to deepen the growth that
starts in her workshops.

I am very active on Steven Lutz' Official Bionic Woman site and forum,
and host a somewhat abbreviated version of the episode guide I just
mentioned on my website: www.benbangs.com. As your typical
adventure-loving guy, I really dig the action and espionage aspects of
both bionic shows, but have benefited immeasurably from learning from
Lindsay exactly how and why she played down those aspects, and indeed
almost didn't do the show because of its cartoonish character.

In non-bionic personal life, I speak and write fluent Vietnamese, have
been to Southeast Asia thirteen times since 1992, am within six months
of completing an MS in Education (specializing in Teaching English to
Speakers of Other Languages), like both classical music and classic
rock, used to play a little piano, have a half brother nineteen years
younger than me, and am "legally (though not really) blind," another
area I'll discuss through private e-mail if anybody's interested. I
invite everyone to both visit my website and check out my posts at OBW,
under the username: "BenCam91," a name which was given me by a
Vietnamese friend because I started studying his language in 1991, live
in "Quan Cam," or "Orange County" (CA) and am always traveling, and thus
always passing through one "ben xe" (bus stop/station) or another on my
way to someplace as exotic as I can afford as a starving student.

That's it for my first post. Please check me out, and e-mail me
(through either Yahoo or the "Contact Me" page on my site) as I'm always
looking to make new bionic-spirited friends.

Thanks

Hi Jay,

To my knowledge, she's designing another one with half fembot/half
human.

Also she made this cool postcard:

For her first convention appearance at Megafest, Janice Whitby (Katy the
fembot) will be makingfembot T-shirts and as you know, she left acting
to pursue her firstlove, art. She's now a professional graphic designer
and quite good at.

In order not to violate any copyright laws from Universal and
Miramax, she did not base any of her graphics on any screen shots from
the Kill Oscar trilogy and instead used a head shot from her modeling
career asa basis for the Katy graphic.

This is the first one she sent me and there's a few more different ones
to come.

(Sigh), what a major setback, as it sounds like Universal's greed is preventing
anything from getting accomplished.  It would be sweet to see the bionic genre
gain popularity somehow (whether it be triggered by a SMDM movie starring Jim
Carrey or a Season 2 of a Michelle Ryan BW series, as far-fetched as both ideas
sound to us), only to have MCA beat out Universal in releasing DVD's of the
original series and gain all the profits that Universal could have earned had
they listened to us fans and released the series years earlier.

That information was offered to my by an executive within a realm of trust that
I not divulge that source.

That said, your simply going to have to trust me - as of the time of that email
(roughly 6 months ago) Universal had no interest in perusing the rights to do an
American release of the series
