Hey all

I enjoyed The Captain's Hand, but there were a few bugaboos and thoughts:

-The abortion subplot kind of felt like a way to allow Baltar to break from Roslin.  My biggest issue is that it didn't feel like there was any exploration given to the story (Full disclosure:  I have given money in the past to an orgainization that supports counseling women considering abortion to look at other avenues, like adoption and the such.  If Roslin wants to make sure that every life is preserved, I didn't feel anything significant was done there to indicate other options were even looked at).
-For some reason, the 'Dee as Cylon' theory is gaining some momentum with me right now.  She really seems to be over mourning for Billy; I realize a month has passed, but yikes.
-Which brings me to my next thought, and if they don't develop this as episodes go along, I'm going to get a little peeved.  Dee and Apollo's relationship is very obviously against military regs (see Chief Tyrol and Boomer).  Not only that, but my understanding is that ships don't have secrets, and things like this rely on people not really caring as long as nothing is really affected.  But, if nothing is done about this, it will stink very highly of nepotism to the fleet, if and when they find out about it.

On unrelated notes, the first episode of The Silent Universe podcast debuted this week.  Very cool so far.  If you get a chance, check it out.
