Good to see someone posting here again. I found this article in which our Dana was interviewed about BB5 & she gave some amazing insights. Too bad she's not on this year. She would have blown them away.Big Brother 5: An All-Out Preview
DANA AND JEE TAKE ON THE NEW HOUSE
BB4's memorably irreverent Dana Varela, now in sports marketing and no longer romantically attached to her gamemate Justin, shared her hopes for the new season. "I hope they do something more controversial than the X Factor; I hope they go back to the [people] that don't know each other. I don't know how they are going to top that — how they can get the reaction out of people the way they got it out of us."
But she does know the first steps this season's players should take: Eliminate the quiet residents. Looking back at how Jun Song won her season, Varela notes, "She didn't necessarily fly under the radar. She just always had someone who was more of a target in front of her. If you look back in hindsight, with me and her up on the block, who wouldn't take out the silent but deadly person? Everybody is coming after me, but how often are you going to have the chance to take out the quiet one? And nobody thinks. Everybody thinks the big target has got to go, and look who's left in the end: someone who didn't win a single game. She eventually started winning, but after the stronger players were taken out."
Jee Choe — Varela's fellow houseguest and New Yorker, who has returned to being a bookkeeper and is attending Manhattan's Hunter College — adds, "It all depends on who is voting [in the jury]. It changed everything around this time because [only] seven of us voted. If that's the same scenario this time around, it might just be better for you to slide under the radar in the beginning." And as that beginning nears again, Varela jokingly suggests, "Rent a room at the nearest insane asylum now and have it on hold when you get out."
