Do You Believe.....In Make-Believe?

Disclaimer: I don't own the characters from Buffy the
Vampire Slayer or Angel. Nor do I own any rights to
the NBC miniseries, The 10th Kingdom. I'm simply
borrowing them for my pleasure....and hopefully yours
as well.
Feedback: Por favor??? PLEASE??? PRETTY PLEASE WITH
THREE CHERRIES ON TOP??? Ok, enough begging. But
yes, I would kill for some.
Summary: The gang gets sucked into the land of fairy
tales and make believe.
Distribution: I would love for it to go anywhere, just
let me know.
Author's Notes: I'm not sure how similar this will be
to the miniseries, The 10th Kingdom. All know is
that the commercials for it inspired this story. I've
always loved fairy tales and believed that they can
and do come true.

Prologue

	 "‘Another emergency, Buffy. We need to do some
research, Buffy. No time for teenage girl stuff,
Buffy. Hurry up and don't lollygag about, Buffy,'"
nineteen year old Buffy Summers said, imitating her
stuffy, work-a-holic, ex-Watcher, Rupert Giles.
	 Angel laughed, his eyes lighting up at the antics of
his girlfriend.
	 "It's not funny, Angel. Giles has been working us to
the bone for, like, two weeks straight. And nothing
has even happened! Grr, sometimes he makes me so
mad!" Buffy said, falling into Angel's lap with a
dramatic sigh.
	 "He's just being cautious, babe. You know, he tends
to get cranky when the world is in peril. Let's just
be good Slayer and Vampire with a Soul until this
thing is over," Angel said, kissing the top of Buffy's
head.
	 Buffy snuggled in closer, inhaling the scent of
Angel's hair gel. She loved that scent. Always did
something to her....
	 "Buffy! I tell you to patrol, and where do I find
you? In Angel's arms, OF COURSE!" Giles bellowed
suddenly from the doorway of the room Buffy shared
with Willow.
	 Buffy tumbled out of Angel's hold and straightened
herself up. "Sorry. But you know, it was a slow
night so we figured we'd come back here and....."
	 "And make out all night, hmm?" Giles snapped back.
"I don't think you understand how serious this is,
Buffy. You turn into a googly little school girl
around Angel and it has been affecting your duties."
Giles frowned and then let out the final blow. "You
are forbidden to see Angel until this newest crisis is
over with."
	 Buffy was shocked. "What?! Wait, I meant WHAT?!!?
I'm not seven, you can't forbid me to see someone.
You aren't my father."
	 Angel stood up. "Don't argue, Buffy. Just do it.
Wouldn't want to piss the old man off, would we?"
	 Giles' mouth dropped and Buffy chuckled.
	 "Well, I'll just go then. Call me when you can come
out and play again, Buffy." Angel picked up his
leather jacket and kissed Buffy goodbye.
	 When he was gone, Giles spoke again. "I'm sure you
will follow my instructions, Buffy. You are a
sensible girl. Just do what I say and the wold will
be better off. I really am sorry about this." He
nodded, as if to say "dismissed" and left.
	 Buffy picked up Mr. Gordo and heaved him at her door.
  "It's not fair," she moaned. "Why is he treating me
like a baby? I'm nineteen. He doesn't own me. He
can't keep me apart from Angel like this. What am I
Cinderella?" Buffy crawled into bed and turned off
the light. "That's exactly who I am. Cinderella, who
just wants to be with her prince, but is forced to the
ugly chores of my evil step-Watcher."
~~~***~~~***~~~***~~~***~~~***
	 Buffy awoke the next morning, stretching, and doing
her usual, series of five yawns, ritual.  But the
ritual was altered this morning.  After the third
yawn, she opened her eyes, and screamed.
	 "Where am I?" she shrieked, hopping out of her
filthy, worn-out cot.  She looked around her in cold
fear and saw nothing but four stone walls, one with a
door.  A locked door.
	 Suddenly, from somewhere beyond the door, a shrill
voice called out, "CINDERELLA!!  Where's the laundry?
Where's my breakfast??  CINDERELLA!!"
	 Buffy's eyes widened out the sound.  "Oh, dear God.
I'm Cinderella!"
Title: Funeral March
Author: Phoenixflame
Rating: PG-13
Spoilers: All the B/A episodes, Silent Night, and Destiny's Children
Summary: Aftermath of Destiny's Children. Mucho angst.
The day after, it rained. Actually, it drizzled down. Sunnydale was
unusually cold and clammy. It fit with Willow's mood perfectly.
She stood in front of the window in her apartment, staring out at the
streets through the rain. A numb feeling seemed to surround her as she
watched the rain come down over Sunnydale.
Buffy was dead.
Willow felt lost. Xander and Anya were taking care of Pearl. Giles and
Spike were with Angel, trying to keep him from joining his love. And she
was in her metal particle board
tower, watching the drizzle.
Turning away from the window, she walked to the heavy leather tome that
lay on the living room table. Reaching up as she passed underneath it,
Willow pulled the cord to the overhead light, and the apartment went
dark, except for the dim light through the windows.
She sat down in front of the book. Taking a deep breath, she lit the two
candles on the table. Willow bowed her head before opening the book.
Her fingers flipped the vellum pages aside, until she found the page
that she was looking for. Her blue eyes focused on the candle in front
of her. Focused, and narrowed.
After a few minutes of intense staring, it burst into flame. With a sad
smile, Willow sat back in the chair.
It was time.
***
Angel stared out of the window of the mansion. An impotent rage burned
within him. From beside the door that led out of the room stood Spike,
who was watching his Sire warily.
"Why are you still here?" he said quietly. Spike nearly jumped.
Composing himself, the blonde replied "Because I promised her I would."
He laughed bitterly. "Why do you care?"
"Because come Hell, Fire, or a really pissed off Archdemon, I happen to
like the Slayer's little cutie. Don't ask me why, maybe Dru rubbed off
on me a bit, but I owe the kid her father at least. You die, she'll
never forgive you." replied Spike, eying his Sire. "And I'll just have
Willow anchor your soul around even longer, so forget about it. You're
not falling on a stake. Besides, it's harder than it sounds."
"Why should I stay?" asked Angel.
Spike sobered. "For Pearl's sake."
***
Willow blew out the last candle, and let her head fall onto the book.
Four hours of conjuring, re-reading the book, and petitioning the Gods
had got her nowhere.
"Damnit!" she cried out suddenly, smacking the table. One of the candles
rocked. "Where did they send your soul, Buffy?"
She had tried a seance, a basic soul calling, an Ouija board, and every
type of scrying her brain could think of. Then she thought of something.
"They wouldn't have."
Willow picked up her bag of runes, and stared at it, remembering the
runes that she had cast. "A journey... Why can't they just let her go to
Heaven? She's suffered enough already!"
Predictably, no one answered.
End Part One
Sweethearts 2: Untitled
Disclaimer: I don’t own them, I just wish I did.  And
threaten sporkage on those that actually do J
Author’s Notes: My Valentine’s Day fic!  If I can get
it finished for Valentine’s Day…Anyway, it’s a sequel
to my story "Sweethearts" which was X/C therapy, which
means in this world Xander and Cordy are together and
live together in L.A. Besides that everything is
pretty much the same as in the fourth season of Buffy,
first season of Angel.  This goes through "A New Man"
so no B/R sex!!!!
Summary: Buffy has laryngitis and a severe case of
Valentine-itis.  Which is nothing compared to Angel’s
brooding…
Feedback PLEASE!!!!!
Part One
For the first time in the last five years, Buffy was
going to have a good Valentine’s Day.  Really.  There
was just the little matter of depression to clear up
first.
Oh, and the laryngitis.
She woke up Friday morning feeling just fine, except
the kind of off, unsettled feeling from her dream of
Angel in which he’d appeared at her school and given
her a candy heart that said For Keeps.  She climbed
out of bed and staggered over to the bathrooms.  She
took a shower, washed her hair, brushed her teeth and
went back into her bedroom where Willow was now awake.
She said hello.  Or tried to anyway.
"Buffy, are you okay?" Willow asked, as Buffy’s
clothes tumbled to the ground.  Buffy had bent to pick
them up and looked up at her friend in shock.
You can talk? she mouthed.
"You can’t?" Willow asked.  Buffy shook her head
emphatically and opened her mouth, trying her hardest
to get a sound to come out.  Nothing came but
coughing.  "Do you think it’s the Gentlemen?"
Why can you talk? Buffy demanded, then started
coughing and reached for the water bottle beside her
bed.
"You had a sore throat yesterday, didn’t you?" Willow
asked, watching her closely.  Buffy nodded
reluctantly.  "Then it’s probably just laryngitis."
Buffy’s eyes widened frantically and she began
gesticulating.  But-but-Valentine’s Day! she mouthed.
Big plans!  Riley!  Not that she was especially
excited about his surprise evening, but she knew she
should be.  And being unable to speak the whole time
would really put a damper on it.
"Well," Willow said cheerfully, "At least you still
have your messageboard!"
Buffy glared.
**
"Karma!" Xander exclaimed over the phone.  Willow
sighed.
"Xander, that’s not nice.  Besides, she didn’t take
away your voice last year.  It was a dare.  You
accepted," she pointed out.  Xander made a face and
leaned back in his chair, propping his feet up on
Cordelia’s desk.  Luckily his girlfriend was out
getting coffee.  She would have a fit if she saw his
feet anywhere near her desk.
"I still say it’s karma," he replied smugly.  "So
how’s the Buffster doing?"
"She’s pretty upset," Willow replied.  "And very
grouchy.  Actually, she’s been like that all week.
You’d think the girl was single or something."
"Hah!  You know nothing about grouchiness.  You should
see Brood Boy.  He just sits in his office staring at
his desk for hours.  I swear, someone needs to know
some sense into him."
"Xander, do you realize what you just said?" Willow
asked, amused.
"I didn’t say it should be me!  And I didn’t mean I
want him and Buff to get back together—though I’m
still not liking this whole Riley/Initiative deal—but
anything’s better than putting up with him like this."
"I thought you didn’t work for Angel.  Why do you have
to put up with him?" Willow inquired.
"I uh…spend a lot of time with Cordy," Xander replied
defensively.
"You’re out of a job again, aren’t you?" Willow
accused.
"Not…really…"
"Xander!"
"Well the job sucked!"
"Why don’t you at least get Angel to pay you, since
you spend all your time helping him?" Willow asked.
"I called him Dead Boy for three years.  You think he
wants to give me money?"
"Good point…So how are you?  Besides unemployed?"
Xander sighed heavily.
"I need a good present.  Really good.  Cordy’s
threatened to dump me twice already today."
"She has not!"
"Uh-huh.  She keeps saying she can’t believe she’s in
L.A. with all this opportunity and living with me.
Also I’m holding her down," Xander replied glumly.
"Yeah, but she wouldn’t really dump you.  I mean, been
there, done that, right?" Willow reminded him.
"Not reassuring."
"She loved you Xander!  Even Cordelia’s not shallow
enough to do that twice!"
"Hey!  Cordy’s not shallow!" Xander defended her.
There was a short silence on the other end of the
line.  "Maybe once in a while.  But she’s got hidden
depths!"
"I’ll take your word for it," Willow laughed.  "Just
go for romantic and expensive.  And tell her you love
her."
"Thank Will."
"No problem, I live to serve.  I have to go Xan.
Class and all.  You know, what we non-slackers have."
"Very funny.  Tell Buff to go get like ten boxes of
those candy hearts.  They work wonders," Xander
advised.  Willow laughed, remembering the year before
when he’d spent the day handing everyone candy hearts.
"Will do.  Say hi to everyone for me," Willow said.
"As should you. And tell Buffy it’s karma."
"Xander!"  Xander grinned and sat up very straight
suddenly as he heard footsteps in the hall.  Cordelia
walked in, her eyes narrowing as she saw him sitting
in her chair.
"Who are you talking to?" she asked.
"Bye Willow," Xander said into the phone.  Cordelia’s
eyebrows arched and she set down her purse on the
desk, glancing into Angel’s office (he hadn’t come
upstairs yet).  Willow said good bye and hung up and
Xander hung up, standing up and walking over to her.
"Did you get me coffee?" he asked hopefully.
"Did you do any work?" she replied.
"Cor!" he pouted.  She sighed aggrieviedly and handed
over a cup.
"I don’t know why I put up with you."
"Cause you want my body?" he suggested hopefully.
"Don’t push it Xander."
**
"Buffy, there you are!" Willow exclaimed, catching up
with her best friend.  Buffy turned to look at her
glumly.  Hi, she mouthed.
"I talked to Xander," Willow announced, "He had a
solution to your problem!"  Buffy arched her eyebrows,
waited as Willow opened her book bag and dug into it.
She pulled out three boxes of Sweethearts.  Buffy
buried her face in her hands.
I’ll look like an idiot, she mouthed a moment later,
looking up.
"It’s better than not being able to communicate at
all," Willow retorted.  "Or did you want to use the
messageboard?"  Buffy’s eyes narrowed and she snatched
the boxes from her friend, who grinned.  Buffy opened
one of the boxes and dumped a bunch of hearts into her
hand.
LET IT BE, she handed to Willow.
"See, told ya they’d be good!"  Buffy glanced at her
watch and grimaced, then grabbed Willow’s arm and
pulled her towards Psych, wondering why there wasn’t a
heart that said "we’re late".
"Xander said Cordelia’s starting to threaten again,"
Willow reported as they walked to class.
HOW NICE, Buffy gave her.
"I told him she’s just talking though.  She wouldn’t
really dump him…not without reason anyway."
Buffy arched her eyebrows and handed Willow another
heart.  GET REAL.  Willow sighed.
"Okay, so maybe she would…But probably not!  Right?"
WHATEVER.
"You’re really in a good mood today, aren’t ya?"
Willow asked.  Buffy stuck her tongue out at her
friend.  They walked in to the classroom and Riley
walked over the moment they entered.  Buffy avoided
his welcoming kiss, telling herself it was because she
was sick, not because she didn’t want to be with him.
"She’s sick," Willow explained at Riley’s hurt look.
Buffy nodded agreement and handed Riley a heart.
HELLO.  "Laryngitis," Willow said.
"Oh…you can still come tonight, can’t you?" Riley
asked, looking worried.  Buffy nodded hurriedly and
smiled reassuringly at him, despite the pang in her
heart at the thought of the evening.
SURE LOVE, she handed him, then gestured to her seat
to show she had to sit down.  He smiled at her and she
went and sat next to Willow.  Her eyes were on Riley
as Professor Walsh began to speak.  They’d been dating
for almost a month now, and she really liked him.  He
was sweet, and relatively normal.  It shouldn’t matter
that she didn’t feel completely happy when she was
with him…she didn’t when she wasn’t with him either.
And the fact his kisses didn’t send fire racing
through her body…not a problem.  Right?  And you
weren’t supposed to love people right away.  That came
with time.
Maybe.
Buffy stared glumly at her boyfriend, wondering what
her problem was.  There was Willow right there who had
no boyfriend at all, and she was more cheerful than
Buffy.  Everyone was more cheerful than Buffy.  God,
she’d been more cheerful the year before while trying
desperately to stay away from the man she loved lest
she give him a happy.  She’d probably been more
cheerful when he was evil than she felt at the moment.
Riley wasn’t Angel.  And nothing she could do would
change that.
Which shouldn’t matter.  Except it did.
**
"Could we move past the brooding now?" Cordelia asked
acerbically.  Angel looked up, surprised to notice her
standing in the doorway with crossed arms.
"I’m not brooding," he replied.
Cordelia’s look was classic.  In the front office,
Xander began to laugh.
"That’s the funniest thing I’ve heard all day," he
cried.  "Better than Buffy’s little predicament."
Angel sat up at once.  "What happened to Buffy?" he
demanded, snapping out of his reverie.  Cordelia
rolled her eyes.
"Little Miss Slay Gal has laryngitis," she replied.
"Xander thinks it’s karma.  Now, we actually have work
to do at some point if you’d like to get past the
Valentine’s Day Blues please."
"I’m fine," Angel said sternly.
"Then why have you been sitting at your desk staring
at that box for the last forty five minutes?"
Angel looked down involuntarily to the heart-shaped
box sitting on his desk.  The top was etched with
Celtic designs and the Gaelic word for Forever.  Buffy
had given it to him last Valentine’s Day.
Forever.  And here he was, brooding alone in L.A.
while she no doubt made plans with her new boyfriend.
He couldn’t even be angry that she had moved on, since
he had told her to.
He hadn’t thought it would hurt this much.
Cordelia sighed and Angel looked back up.  "He’s doing
it again Xander."
"Told ya," came the reply from the front office.  "I
say we leave him here.  I can take on…what was it?
Some demons?"
"Yeah.  Right.  Maybe if you got off your ass and
stopped eating all those candy hearts some time.  You
know, you could try working out once in a while!"
Cordelia snapped at her boyfriend, turning away from
Angel.  He nearly sighed in relief that she had moved
on, though Cordelia and Xander’s constant bickering
was really getting on his nerves.  Come to think of
it, it’d been getting on his nerves for the last three
months…That and the fact that whenever he needed them
they happened to be in the closet.
"Hey!  It’s a Valentine’s Day tradition!" Xander
exclaimed.
"You liked candy more than you like me," Cordelia
accused.  Angel stood up and grabbed his duster, then
walked into the front office.
"You two planning on stopping anytime soon so we can
go kill these things?" he asked.  Cordelia rolled her
eyes.
"We were waiting for you!" she replied, grabbing her
purse and starting out the door.  "Oh, and Angel, I’m
getting off early tonight.  So we need to hurry this
up."
Angel supressed a groan and followed her out the door,
Xander trailing behind, asking if anyone wanted any
hearts.
**
"Riley’s gonna die!" Willow squealed as Buffy spun for
her.  She was wearing a new red dress with a loose
boatneck and knee-length skirt.  Buffy smiled faintly
and flipped her a heart.  I HOPE.  Though she wasn’t
sure if she really did.  "How are you going to do your
hair?"  Buffy shrugged, turning to the mirror and
eyeing her reflection.  She twisted the edges up into
a crown with a practiced hand, and stuck a few sparkly
pins in to hold it.  She turned back to Willow for
approval.
"I like," her friend said, getting off her bed and
walking over to Buffy’s dresser. She picked up two red
jeweled butterflies and handed them to Buffy.  "Put
these in."
Buffy obeyed and Willow gave her the thumbs up.
What are you doing tonight? Buffy mouthed.
"I’m in for a cheerful night of witchcraft!" Willow
exclaimed enthusiastically.  "I found this new spell I
really want to try out."  Buffy grinned.
GO GIRL, she handed her.  Willow grinned back.
"Should be fun.  And you are gonna have a perfectly
lovely evening with Riley, right?" she asked
pointedly.
YES DEAR.
"Okay, I’m going to go to the bathroom.  You need a
necklace.  Something simple and pretty," Willow said
with a firm nod.  Buffy smiled despite herself and
gave a salute, mouthing aye aye captain.  Willow
walked past her and out the door and Buffy turned to
her jewelry box.  She opened it, looking through the
necklaces.  Her eye fell on a heart locket and she
took it out at once, before remembering what it was,
and where she got it.  There was a rose on the front
and inside…she let it fall open.  One one side was a
pencil sketch of her, four years before.  And on the
other was Angel, a crooked little half smile on his
lips, his eyes on something else, away from the
camera.  Angel…
Buffy felt tears well up in her eyes and dashed them
away impatiently.  She wasn’t going to ruin her
make-up.  She closed the locket with a snap and took a
deep breath.  And then she hung it around her neck.
Maybe she’d never have Angel again.  But that didn’t
mean she couldn’t carry him with her.  She always
carried him with her.
"Ready?" Willow asked, re-entering the room.  Buffy
turned, summoning a smile and nodded.  Willow spotted
the locket.  "That’s really pretty, where’d you get
it?"  Buffy shrugged and turned away, ostensibly
looking for her shoes.
There was a knock at the door and Willow went to get
it.  "Hi Riley!" she said.  Buffy took a moment to
pull on her strappy sandals and grab her black lace
shawl.  She took a deep breath and turned to face her
boyfriend, summoning a bright smile.
"Hey Buffy," he said, walking into the room and
leaning down to kiss her.  Buffy turned her face so it
landed on her cheek.
I’m still sick, she reminded him.  He sighed heavily.
"I have a feeling this may put a damper on the
evening," he teased.  Buffy wrinkled her nose, then
grabbed her purse and pulled him out the door, waving
to Willow, who was watching them with an odd
expression.
"Have fun!" she called, then closed the door after
them.  Willow turned back to the empty room and walked
over to her bookshelf, pulling out her magic book and
opening it to the spell.
"I’m insane," she told herself.  "I don’t know whether
this will help or mess everything up."  She sighed and
put the book down, pulling on her shoes and grabbing
her coat to go over to Tara’s.  This was one spell she
wasn’t going to try without help.
On the bed, the book lay open to How to Make a Curse
Permanent.
AUTHOR: April (acflager@...)
DISCLAIMER:  Not mine. I promise to give them back when I'm done. The
song Remember Me This Way is performed by Jordan Hill, from the movie
Casper.
SPOILERS:  Graduation 2 and back
SUMMARY:  Grr, my one problem with the season 3 finale, other than it
didn't live up to the hype, was that Buffy and Angel never got a proper
goodbye.  This is my attempt to fix that.
FEEDBACK:  Please?  This is my first attempt at a sadfic and a songfic,
so it would be appreciated.
NOTE:  Hehe...I know..I know...i've kinda been flooding the list with
fics...but i don't think many of you mind right?  Anyway..I have like 3
stories in progress right now...and i'm being flooded with people asking
for sequels to my stories...so I'm going to try and do that, since i've
pretty much decided on making a fluff series based on my Future
Bliss...but i digress...on to the story:
     Buffy Summers sat at the group's usual table at the Bronze, looking
out onto the dance floor.  Everyone from graduation
seemed to have had the same idea, everyone who had survived that is.
They were happy to be alive, and they each looked it.
They had fought for their lives, and had beaten the evil that Buffy had
been protecting them from for so long.
     Through the usual dim lighting, Buffy faintly made out Willow and Oz
dancing, looking very close.  Buffy raised an eyebrow,
taking a mental note to ask Willow about that later and why she had been
late to graduation.  Though she had a pretty good
idea what had transpired.  Her eyebrow raised further as she spotted
Xander and Cordelia,  who must have formed a truce,
because they were groping each other like in the good ole days in the
center of the the dance floor.  At least some people's love
lives were going well.  Every once in a while, some one would come over
to say thank you, people that had never spoken to
her, people that had ignored her, everyone.
     Propping her chin on her hand, she tried not to look too depressed,
or too tired, no matter now much she wished she was at
home, in bed, with a carton of Triple Fudge Brownie ice cream.  He'd
left.  He really had.  She'd understood that much, that he
felt he had to go.  But it didn't stop the pain any.  She'd almost lost
him, not just because of his stupid chivalrous reasons, but
because of something that they were almost unable to stop. He'd almost
died.
     Her heart clenched at the thought of him dying.  Him not being
there.  She'd almost died when he'd been in hell.  If he had this
time, she knew she wouldn't have survived it.  It was bad enough that he
wasn't going to be around.  Giving up all pretense of
trying to have fun, her head fell into both of her hands, and she fought
back the tears that were beginning to form from behind
her eyelids.
     "Can I have this dance?"  The voice was soft and unsure, but so
familiar as it washed over her.
     Looking up, her eyes leaking slightly, making tracks down the smoke
smudges she knew were still on her cheeks, she caught
his gaze. Angel.  He stood there, dressed in the black sweater and pants
he'd been in before, but without the duster.  His deep
eyes were sorrowful as one hand outstretched, pleadingly, to take hers.
Without answer, she slipped her small hand in his big
one, giving him a small smile as he led her onto the floor just as the
soft strains of a slow slong played over the speakers.
Every now and then
You find a special friend
Who never lets us down
Who understands it all
Reaches out each time we fall
You’re the best friend that I found
     "You came," she breathed, as his hands slid around to clasp behind
her waist.
     "This doesn't change anything Buffy."  Angel's voice was apologetic
as her own hands travelled up his strong build, across his
broad shoulders, her fingers burying themselves in the hair at the nape
of his neck.  "I just thought you deserved a goodbye."
I know you can’t stay
A part of you will never ever go away
Your heart will stay
     "I know."  Buffy rested her head against his chest in a familar spot
under his chin. "Thank you."
     "You're welcome."  They danced for a few more beats, before he spoke
again.  "Thank you."
     Buffy looked up, surprised.  "For what?  Angel, I wasn't about to
let you die."
     "Not for that.  For just being you."
I’ll make a wish for you
And hope it will come true
That life will just be kind
To such a gentle mind
If you loose your way
think back on yesterday
Remember me this way
Ooooh remember me this way
     Buffy looked at him, confusion plain on her face.
     "You've given me so much Buffy.  More than I ever deserved.  You
allowed me to love you.  And no matter what pain that
might have brought us, I'm always going to look back and smile because
you were with me."
     "Angel..."
     "I can only hope that you don't let me hold you back.  I want you to
have that normal life Buffy.  I want you to have
everything that you ever dreamed of..  Without me."  One of Angel's
hands moved up to cup her cheek, the pad of his thumb
gently wiping the tears off her cheek.  "I want you to try."
     "I can't promise that Angel."  The tears began to fall harder now,
as she shook her head in desparation.  "I'm always going to
love you.  You've ruined me for anyone else."
     "I want you to try.  I'm always going to love you Buffy.  Nothing is
going to change that.  But its never going to be more than
that.  We can't let it.
     "I've done so much in my past that I need to make up for.  You need
to move past me."
I don’t need eyes to see
The love you bring to me no matter where I go
And I know that you’ll be there
Forever more a part of me your every where
I’ll always care
I’ll make a wish for you and hope it will come true
That life will be kind
To such a gentle mind
And if you loose your way
Think back on yesterday
Remember me this way
Remember me this way
     Buffy gave up trying to argue with him.  She knew that he was never
going to accept her loving him, if he wasn't able to come
to terms with the damage that his demon had caused.  She simply nodded.
Squeezing her eyes tight as she laid her head back
down on his chest, their bodies moving in perfect unison.  They'd been
through so much.
     That first kiss they'd shared in her bedroom, full of passion and
awakening.  Her coming to terms with the fact that the man
she was in love with was one of the creatures she was sworn to destroy.
Professing their love for each other,  in both words
and physical actions.  Buffy having to watch as the demon her lover had
turned into stalked her and her friends.  Angel being
sent to hell by her own hand and the grief in the knowledge that he was
never coming back because of what she'd done.  Angel
coming back and having to deal with what he had caused.
     Even through all that turmoil, she had still loved him.  She had
felt his love for her even then.  He would alway be with her, in
her thoughts, her memories.
     Her body gently began to wrack with sobs.  This was the last time
she'd probably ever see him.  The last time they'd hold
each other.  Almost urgently, she attempted to rememorize every part of
him.  His hands on the spot on her waist that seemed
as if it was made just for his hands; his long, cool length pressed up
against her body. The way she fit just so below his chin.
     "I love you Angel."  Her words were a whisper.
And I’ll be right behind your shoulder watching you
Oh baby, standing by your side in all you do
And I will never leave as long as you believe
     Angel heard her soft words, and closed his eyes, almost in agony at
the prospect of letting her go, forever. He was trying to
do the right thing by letting her go.  Giving her a chance at what she
deserved.  She who was his light, his joy.  Who gave so
much of herself to everyone that she cared about.
     He ignored the pit of jealousy forming in his stomach at that
thought of any othe man touching her, being with her.  Being the
focus of her love.  He was doing this for her.  She deserved that much,
because all he had ever brought her was pain.
     His arms tightened reflexively around her, as the memories of the
past 3 years came back to him.  Being knocked on his back
in the alley and looking up to see her face, knowing in that instant
that he was going to fall for her.  The worry as Giles had told
him that she was going to die, and then the relief as she had taken that
gasping breathe that had brought her back into his life.
Her crying in his arms as she'd dropped the sledgehammer that she'd used
on the Master's bones.  The ecstasy of that one night
they'd spent together, losing himself in her depths.  The hundreds of
years spent in hell, the only thing he remembered being her.
The nights spent together after a patrol, just enjoying their time
together, leading to Buffy finally falling asleep beside him. Finally,
watching as she had been called in L.A., swearing that he would always
protect her.  That promise would never change, he told
himself.  He'd always be there for her when she needed him.  But that
was all he could offer her, help when the forces of
darkness proved too much.
You just believe
I’ll make a wish for you
And hope it will come true
That life will just be kind
To such a gentle mind
        Neither of the two lovers realized it when the dancers had
stopped dancing around them halfway through the song.  Neither
did they know when a small space had cleared around them, as the
graduated students that had fought watched the couple
they'd seen continously off and on over 3 years holding on tight to one
another.  No one really knew what was going on, but the
agony in their protector's and the man's face was clear, even in the
dimly lit room. Couples held onto one another, many of the
girls holding back tears, as they watched the girl many had idolized
from a distance almost in tears.
     The air crackled with tension as the song wound down, and the couple
pulled apart, looking into one another's eyes.
And if you loose your way
Think back on yesterday
Remember me this way
     "If you ever need me, I'll be here for you.  You know that right?"
     Buffy nodded sadly, wishing that the song could keep going forever,
knowing that he was talking business only.  "Same goes
for you.  I hope you find what you're looking for."
     Angel held back as his gut screamed for him to say 'I've already
found it.'  He gave a sad, half smile.   "Thanks Buffy.  I'm
always going to love you."
     "I know. I love you Angel. Nothing is going to change about that."
     Slowly, Angel lowered his head,  capturing her lips in a tender,
almost painful kiss, it was so sweet.  Their lips clung to each
other, not wanting to let go.  As the last lines of the song played out,
they pulled away, holding onto each other for one last
moment before Angel stepped away from her, their hands clinging to each
other before Angel turned and stalked from the small
circle like the graceful predator that he was, the crowd splitting as he
made his way through, leaving Buffy on the dance floor
like she had him when she had first found out who he really was.
     As he melded into the shadows, the crowd turned expectantly back to
Buffy, who was looking after him with a sort of
resigned air.  Her lower lip was captured between her teeth in an
attempt not to cry as the four of her closest friends pushed
their way to their friend, the 4 sometime warriors standing protectively
behind her.
Remember me this way
Ohh yeah.. this way
Hi everyone-
Okay, when 'The I in Team' aired, did anyone catch what Xander said about
Riley in the very beginning?
"Yeah, Riley's nice, in an oafish sort of way."
So, we can call Riley Oaf Boy, or oafish.
Lilac Corncob and Lilac Boy and Fishboy are also great names.
I was just wondering if anyone else noticed that Xander called Riley oafish.
Anyway, that's all. Oh, and I was watching the WB tonight, and they showed a
commercial for Tuesday's Buffy, and Riley's aiming his ray gun at her!! That
shows a girl you love her.
And Angel looks freaky, some little kid is possessed! I can't wait to see it!
Okay, done now.
Annie
Riley: Welcome to the story of the world. Things fall apart Buffy, and evil?
It comes and goes, but the way people manage is, they don't do it alone. They
pull each other through. If you weren't so self involved you'd see that.
Buffy: You have no idea what you're talking about. You barely know me.
Riley: I know it's not just the job thing. I'm sure that there's some good
looking guy who done you wrong in there too, but mostly I think you want to
stay down in the dark place. Because maybe it's safer down there.
Buffy: You are so out of line
Riley: No, see I don't think so. Look, we have an oppurtuniy her, you and me.
The fact that you're to scared to give it a try-
Buffy: Is my business. So why don't you just leave me alone.
-Buffy and Riley, Doomed
"What's this? Sittin around and watching the telly while there's evil still
afoof? That's not very industrious of you. I say we go out there and kick a
little demon ass! What, can't go without your Buffy? Is that it? Too chicken?
Let's find her, she is the chosen on after all. C'mon *vampires* grrr, nasty!
Let's annihilate them for justice and the for the safety of puppies and
Christmas, right? Let's fight that evil! Let's kill something! Oh *come on*!"
Spike, Doomed
Buffy: I'm through with the whole needing to be mature thing. That time you
just spent in the kitchen, that was enough time apart.
Angel: Too much
this song and had to use it.  I'll make it up to ya guys somehow.
     The sun had just begun to show itself over the far off horizon.
Buffy Summers, stood on the cliff overlooking the sleepy town
of Sunnydale, her heart breaking, and the tears long since dried up,
leaving smoky paths down her cheeks.  From her vantage
point, the charred remains of the high school were visible, smoke still
rising off the burned stones.  The jubilant students had
gone, most to the Bronze where the all night party had started.  The
rescue vehicles were gone as well, leaving yellow tape
along the circumference of school grounds. And he was gone.  Just like
he’d said.  Without a goodbye, he’d turned and melted
into the smoke that was drifting, hanging heavy in the air.
It must have been love
But its over now
      She’d left the party early last night, not wanting to ruin the
triumphant spirit of the crowd.  She’d gone home, only taking the
time to change before she’d fallen into bed, curling in on herself as
she had begun to let herself deal with what had happened in
the past few days.
      He was truly gone.
Lay a whisper
On my pillow
Leave the winter
On the ground
I wake up lonely
      She woke up sometime in the early morning, his name on her lips,
not an unusual occurrence.  When she’d sent him to hell
last summer, all her dreams and ended with her waking up, crying out his
name in tears.  She opened her eyes slowly, half
hoping that he’d be there, at her window, as he’d done so many time in
the past.
The stare of silence
In the bedroom
And all around
Touch me now
I close my eyes
And dream away
      When she saw that her room was truly empty, a choked sob escaped
the walls she’d fought for so long to build up, trying to
shield her from the pain that she knew would ultimately break her heart.
      Throwing the tangled sheets off her legs, she moved the window sill
that had seen so many comings and goings in the few
years she’d lived there.  Leaning against the wall, she pressed her
forehead to the cool pane of glass, and looked out into the
grey world, where everything was quiet.  Closing her eyes, tears still
leaking from under dark lashes that were already wet, she
let the memories wash over her, the happiness of the past times
bittersweet with the knowledge that times like those would
never come again.
It must have been love
But its over now
It must have been good
But I lost it somehow
It must have been love
But its over now
From the moment we touched
Till the time had run out
      No matter how many times the others tried to tell her it wasn’t her
fault, she still felt to blame for what she looked upon as
the turning point in her life, more so than her calling as a Slayer.
Her becoming the Slayer was trivial to the one memory that
was both the happiest and saddest points in her life.  The night that
she had made love to Angel; the night that she had lost Angel
forever.
      She still had Angel; she always would, because a piece of his heart
would always be her’s, but she could never have him the
way she truly wanted him.  The way she’d wanted him from the moment his
lips had touched hers, the way she’ll always want
him.  Carefree and happy, the way they’d been together before the
knowledge of the curse and the clause had put a damper on
their relationship.
Make believing
We’re together
That I’m sheltered
By your heart
But in the outside
I turn to water
Like a teardrop
In your pond
     The past year…being near him had been torture.  Wanting to touch
him, be touched by him, and knowing that if it happened,
that she would lose him again.  Pretending to be just friends, when just
about everybody but them knew it could never truly be.
And now, she wouldn’t even how the luxury of having some sort of
relationship with him.  When it came right down to it, to
either have Angel in her life in any way, or not at all, she knew that
she’d take him any way she could.
      She was being selfish, she knew.  Wanting that from him.  Willing
to put up with the torture of never being truly with him
again, and asking the same from him.  He deserved so much more than
that.
And it’s so hard
Winter stayed
I dream away
It must have been love
But it’s over now
It was all that I wanted
Now I’m living without
      Walking out of her front door, grateful that her mom wasn’t back
yet, she wrapped her arms around herself as her feet
moved down the sidewalk, taking their own path.  She’d found that one
love that everyone spent their whole life looking for, but
it was to come to nothing.  She’d had that one perfect night.
      Now all she had to look forward to was a lonely life, living
without him.  Forced to dream of the past and what could have
been.
It must have been love
But it’s over now
It’s where the water flows
It’s where the wind blows
      Whoever was up there running her life, sure must being getting a
kick out of what fun her life was.  Taunting her with all
everyone ever looked for, and then snatching it away, never to be given
to her again.
It must have been love
But it’s over now
It must have been good
But I lost it somehow
It must have been love
But it’s over now
From the moment we touched
Till the time had run out
      Without knowing it, she’d reached the cliff that Angel had almost
killed himself at last Christmas.  She’d thought she was
about to lose him that morning, this time with no chance of ever getting
him back.  That morning wasn’t half as bad as the
knowledge that Angel didn’t want his life to be with her.  That he’d
just walked away from 3 years of history together.  Without
saying goodbye.
Yeah it must have been love
But it’s over now
It was all that I wanted
Now I’m living without
      Buffy stood on that cliff until the little town below her showed
signs of movement and awakening.  People getting up and
going on with their lives.  Working, playing, loving. Without knowing
that the girl that went out every night, keeping their world
safe for them to go on with their oblivious lives, was looking down at
them, her heart breaking as she knew that she’d go on and
survive, but never really live with out him.
It must have been love
But its over now
It’s where the water flows
It’s where the wind blows
I think Lilac Corncob is a damn good name for Riley. Fish Boy is another
good name. :)
Anyway, I was just in the threaded posting board at the Bronze today, and
some girls and I were talking about the greatest B/A moments ever. Here were
some that were listed: the good-bye kiss in "Angel," the hug in "When She
Was Bad," all the kissy moments in "Bad Eggs," the ring scene/sex scene in
"Surprise," the hilltop scene in "Amends," practically all of "Becoming",
when Angel got on his knees and hugged Buffy in "Beauty and the Beast," (I
think it was called that, but you guys know what I mean,) and all of "IWRY,"
and countless others.
Thinking off all these wonderful episodes, which are everybody's favourite,
which are so beautifull crafted and written and filmed, which cut straight
to the heart, really, really, REALLY make me wonder how the hell Joss could
do all that bad crap to Buffy and Angel's relationship. It just makes you
think. I seriously think he IS on acid...*big, big sigh*
I'm sorry about the rambling. I just had to get it off my chest. Who else
agrees with me? (Well, I know you guys all do, but I'd just like to hear
what you think. *g*)
Angel called Buffy during class was SO cute!!! More, more, more! And while
Okay.. some feedback to people, and some response to feedback for "Threat
of Love"
FEEDBACK:
Untitled, by Serena
SERENA! You HAVE to continue! They were so cute in this, and I was LMAO
during the cellphone part, that was hilarious! I could actually imagine
that happening too. That is, if Walsh was still alive. In ways I'm kinda
glad that she died, but in others I wish she was still alive. Anyway,
great story, I'm loving it, WRITE MORE! And BTW... who's turn is it to
write "Afraid to Fly"? When did you say  that was coming out again? *G*
I Still Do
You HAVE to continue this! It's SOOO good! I can't wait to see if Buffy
and Angel are going to get back together.. 'cause from the way it looks
it seems like Riley is just normal and isn't a cow-lover or anything..
you are gonna get them back together, right? 'Cause this is BA_Fluff,
island of the B/A shippers, right? Right? Please get them back together!
</begging> *G*
RESPONSE TO FEEDBACK FOR "THREAT OF LOVE"
>OH MY GOD!  oh my god..that was soo good!
>A little less fluffy...but it was still...oh my god! i'm
>speechless..hehehe
>april
Thank you, thank you, thank you! I wasn't aiming for fluffy, 'cause I was
in a depressed kind of mood, but that's okay right? *G*
>That was an incredibly though provoking story.  I read it with tears in
my eyes.  >Powerful, harrowing and moving stuff.  You have an amazing
talent.
  >Thank you also for the dedication and the kind words..they mean a lot.
Thanks! I'm so glad that it was that riveting. And your welcome for the
dedication, your story really did inspire me to write this one. I reread
it this morning and it just hit me. So good job for you too!
>Aww!  Sare Bear, that was just TOO sad!  But I loved the ending, and
that
>last line was perfect.  Poor Buffy!  And I think you had Angel perfectly
in
>character, I could totally picture him saying those things. Everyone's
>emotions were so strong, and you wrote a wonderful story.  Awesome job.
:-)
></mush>
Thanks so much! That means a lot! I'm always worried that I won't get the
characters right, and that they'll be totally wrong.. anyway, this helps
a lot! I always hope that my stories will be as good as yours and
Felicity's.. especially your story AFRAID TO FLY. Yep, that's one of your
greatest ones! (Gee, can you guess that I'm begging for the next
installment? *G*)
As he gazed down at her seemingly calm and serene countenance, he sighed.
Frankly, he was quite concerned. Her nightmares had never been so vivid
or tormenting as these seemed to be. He was scared for her, scared of
what she would do in the aftermath of these dreams, or how emotionally
traumatizing the dreams were becoming.
He didn't know what had happened to her, because they hadn't talked to
eachother much in the last few days that he saw her before he had died.
Whenever he did talk to her, it was like nothing had happened. He had
only known about one death, that of one of her best friends Willow
Rosenberg. And even then, she had showed no emotion, had locked away her
pain so that it was unnoticable unless you looked very hard into her
unfeeling eyes. Only then could you trace the slightest glimmer of hurt
that one of the people she loved so dearly had been so brutally killed.
He sighed, resting his forehead on the back of her head and breathing in
the soft vanilla scent of her silken hair. So much had happened, so much
that he needed to know and so much that no one would tell him.
He would have to get it out of her.
If she was going to survive the emotional torture that seeing her watcher
and her lover again was creating, she was going to have to talk to
someone.
And he wanted that someone to be him.
*
Buffy awoke several hours later, and found with great joy and happiness
that she hadn't left her vampire lover's tight embrace.
She shifted slightly, and he loosened his hold on her, allowing her to
turn her head into his chest before tightening his arms around her once
more. "Hey." She mumbled.
"Hi." He whispered back.
She lifted her head from his solid frame to meet his eyes. "How long have
you been here?"
His lips quirked up in a half-smile. "A long time."
She snuggled deeper into the comfort of his arms, and gave an almost
inaudible sigh of contentment. "Is Laura okay?"
He halfheartedly smiled, the knowledge that she was so selfless still
marveling him to no end. "She's fine. We talked." He exhaled and placed a
light kiss atop of her head. "She wants to try talking again."
"I'm not sure I'm up to it." Buffy responded, shifting slightly so that
her body lay on its side and her head rested upon his chest.
"Why?" Angel responded, beginning to smooth down the golden strands of
her hair.
"I'm just not ready to deal with everything. I know that I have to, but I
need to take things one at a time."
He nodded. "That's completely understandable."
She suddenly reached over his stomach and grabbed hold of his other hand,
grasping it tightly. "Angel, I want you to know how sorry I am about what
I said before.. before you died."
"Buffy, there's-"
"No, let me finish." He relented, but not before he cast her a
sympathetic and worried look. "I was really mean and heartless to you,
and I didn't really realize how much you still meant to me until you were
gone. I'll regret my words to you for the rest of my life, and nothing
you can ever say will change that."
Angel was about to respond, but figured he should wait until she was
completely done until he spoke.
"I love you so much, Angel, and the thought of you dying in my arms hurts
me so much. I hate that you had to tolerate my behavior for so long, and
I hope that you forgive me. And even though it's a lot to ask for, I hope
that you still love me."
His mouth dropped in shock, and he pulled her tighter against him.
"Buffy, I could never, ever stop loving you. No matter what. That's
something that will never change. I promise."
She smiled, and clung to him tighter. "You.. you won't leave me, right?"
She whispered.
He sighed and kissed her on the forehead once again, knowing that
whatever trust he had once gained had although not completely
disappeared, had somewhat diminished. He vowed to himself to earn that
trust back. "I promise that I won't leave you. And I'll never stop loving
you."
For the first time in a long while, she felt completely happiness fill
her soul. And it wasn't a happiness plagued with worry that her hopes
would come crashing down on her. Because she knew Angel too well, and
could tell that he was going to do whatever was in his power to stay with
her.
And however long that may be, she wasn't willing to let him go.
Part 1
The phone's ring sounded like a piercing scream to Cordelia Chase as she
snapped her eyes open. She looked sideways and glared at the phone lazily.
With a sigh, she picked it up.
"Angel Investigations, we hope the helpless... er, no... wait..." <i>Never
fall asleep on the job,</i> she thought. Cordelia blinked her eyes open and
forced herself to concentrate. The voice on the other line was enough to do
that.
"Er, Cordelia, good morning."
"Giles?"
"Yes, it's me. Is..." He hesitated slightly. "Is Angel there?"
Cordelia sighed. "Please don't tell me it has to do with the end of the
world, or whatever, because I am just so sick and tired of..."
"Cordelia," Giles snapped. "Please put Angel on."
"Fine, jeez, hold on." She didn't even bother to cover the mouthpiece as she
yelled for her boss to come to the phone. "Coming," she replied sweetly to
Giles.
Angel appeared several moments later. "Who is it?" he asked.
Cordelia held out the phone wordlessly and waited for him to take it. As if
he were afraid it would lash out and bite, Angel hesitantly took the phone
from Cordelia and put it to his ear. "Hello?"
"Hello, Angel."
Angel took a sharp, unnecessary breath at the sound of Giles' voice.
"Sunnydale," he replied, seeing as Cordelia rolled her eyes.
"Pardon?" Giles asked.
"Nothing," Angel answered. "Anything wrong?"
"Yes, well, I am not quite certain yet," Giles said, immediately seeming to
take a professional tone. "It, um, appears that Buffy has had a dream that
disturbed her to a degree and I have been researching on it. However, I
can't seem to find anything that could be of any use..."
"And you wanna know if I can help," Angel finished.
"Well, yes, as a matter of fact. I know that you have many... resources to
your disposal that would certainly help."
Angel snorted softly. "Yeah, you could say that. But you do have your share
of resources too, you know."
Giles' helpless sigh was not lost on Angel. "I'm afraid Willy knows nothing
on this. In fact, I'm quite sure that no one in Sunnydale knows about this.
I could be overreacting of course. Buffy's dreams are not <i>always</i>
prophetic, but..."
"I've had dreams, too, Giles," Angel interrupted softly.
"...it's good to be on the safe... pardon? Dreams?" Angel could almost
picture Giles' raised eyebrows and trademark confused look.
He pursed his lips. "I was kinda hoping it was my imagination, but then
Cordy had a vision..." He trailed off, not knowing what to conclude.
"What happened in your dream?" Giles asked.
Angel looked pensive for several moments, trying to remember the dream he
had had only two nights ago in detail. "Um, the army of demons, the words
'more will come' were definitely a highlight..."
"Remarkable," Giles breathed.
"What?"
"It's almost as if you and Buffy are... sharing dreams again."
Angel shook his head quickly, knowing that Giles couldn't really see. No, he
knew it wasn't just a dream. If Buffy was seeing the same things in her
sleep, it must've meant that the memories had simply been taken away from
her immediate memory and had been resting in a far away place of her mind.
They were there and somehow, they were being used to warn her of something
to come. And if that was the case, then they were probably up against
something big. "No, Giles," Angel replied. "I know what it is, but I can't
explain it." He stopped and sighed reluctantly. "Do you want me to, uh, go
back and help?" He chose to ignore the way Cordelia was wildly waving her
hands and shaking her head no.
"That would be most appreciated, yes, thank you, Angel," Giles stated. "But
this time... I believe you should inform Buffy of your presence."
Again, Angel sighed with some reluctance. "Yeah, I think so, too."
They said their goodbyes and hung up the phone. Angel glanced up to see
Cordelia sigh and plop down on her chair. "Looks like it's back to Sunnydale
for us," he told her.
"Why'd you go and do that for?" she asked.
"They need us, Cordy, and I can't just abandon them. Plus, if it's the end
of the world, the world does include us..."
"Don't you mean 'abandon her?'"
Angel looked at Cordy and shook his head. "I won't deny that I still care
for her. But she moved on, she has a nice, normal boyfriend that can give
her everything I can't, and I am in no way expecting anything from her out
of this visit."
With raised eyebrows, Cordelia stood up and walked around to feel his
forehead. She nodded, as if it explained everything. "Yeah, that's it. You
have a fever, because you have to be delusional to actually say you believe
that."
Angel ignored her. "She has a nice, normal boyfriend who can give her
everything I never could..." he repeated. <i>Everything I could've...</i>
******
Her feet were taken from under her and she dropped gracefully to the ground.
Immediately, she stood up and faced her opponent again. The stake she
carefully held on her right hand created a reassuring sense of belonging.
This was what she did. This was what she was good that. And in this, no one
could easily beat her.
She twirled the stake around a few times as she lashed out with a kick, a
punch, and drove the stake home. She looked on with satisfaction as the
vampire turned to dust right before her eyes. She jumped slightly and
whirled around as she heard clapping.
"Riley, what are you doing here?"
"Just came to enjoy the show," he said with a smile. "They don't stand a
chance against you. Why do they insist?"
Buffy shrugged and glanced around to make sure there were no more. She
definitely sensed something, but she couldn't put her finger on it. "They
all think they're better than the Master or something, if they think they're
gonna do what he couldn't," she replied. "And anyway, what are you doing
here? I thought I told you not to come patrolling unless you have weapons or
at least something to defend yourself with."
Riley shrugged and walked over to her to place a gently kiss on her lips. "I
didn't come here to fight."
"Yeah, well, I did," Buffy answered, feeling a sudden sense of deja vù.
Where had she heard that before? "And unless you wanna be on the other end,
I strongly suggest you don't sneak up on me like that."
"I'll keep that in mind," Riley replied with a grin.
Returning the grin, she asked softly, "Walk me over to Giles'? I need to
talk to him."
Riley nodded. "Sure."
******
Angel watched carefully as Buffy and her new boyfriend talked for a few
moments. They turned around and walked off together, her arm around his
waist and his arm around her shoulders. It pained him to see her with
someone else, but it was for the best.
And maybe if he said that enough times, he might've actually believed it,
too.
Before he could let himself start brooding and pitying himself again, he
snapped out of it and looked around, trying to see if there was anything
Buffy had missed. He was really in the need to pummel something. As he
started walking out to the cemetery, passing by some fresh and older graves,
some that he even recognized as some of his own victims from his "bad days"
two years back, he started to feel a presence. Faint, but there.
He glanced around warily, like a predator watching for his prey, turning
around and trying to pinpoint the location of his would be assailant... only
he felt like the prey, instead. Sensing a sound from some nearby bushes, he
whirled around just in time to see a pair of eyes retreat back into the
shadows. He was about to follow when he felt a tap on his shoulder. Reacting
solely on instinct, he jumped back and brought his fist, fully prepared to
slam it into his opponent's face.
He caught himself just in time. "Cordy," he breathed.
"You slam that thing into my face and I swear, Slayer or not, demon or not,
I will kick your ass all the way into next week," Cordelia replied in a
dangerous voice. "Do you have any idea how hard it is to..."
"Sorry," Angel said, not wanting to listen to her babble on about make up
and plastic surgery. He turned around again, searching for his earlier
target. "You should know by now not to sneak up on me like that."
She shrugged. "Whatever. I just saw Buffy and her new boytoy walking away.
Aren't you gonna talk to her?"
Angel shook his head. "I'm going to Giles' first." He turned to face her
again. "Where's Wesley?"
"With Giles," she answered. "Actually, I just came from there. Giles wants
to talk to you about some dream or something. He already drilled me for my
vision. Believe me, no fun."
"Let's go," Angel murmured.
With one last look, Cordelia and Angel walked away from the cemetery... and
from the pair of eyes still watching from the shadows.
******
Buffy opened the door to see both of her former Watchers talking eagerly and
comparing notes. She raised her eyebrows at the amusing sight.
Giles.
And Wesley.
Talking eagerly?
"There is something seriously wrong with this picture," she muttered,
stepping aside and letting Riley in.
"Oh, Buffy, good, you're here," Giles noted. "Um, Wesley, this is Buffy's
boyfriend Riley Finn." Both men exchanged nods of acknowledgement.
"So, what's the up? And what's Wesley doing here? Didn't you go back to
England or something?"
"Yes, well," Wesley began, "I decided to leave the Council and become a
rogue demon hunter."
"A what?" Buffy asked, puzzled.
"A rogue demon hunter," Wesley repeated. "It's..."
"Complete with leather and all," a new, familiar voice said from behind her.
Buffy grinned and turned around. "Cordy!" she exclaimed, only to notice that
Cordelia wasn't alone.
"Angel."
Chapter 24
When our children got back from the excursion with their godfather, they were
totally surprised that I was out front waiting for them with their mother in the
sunlight. Their godfather was as shocked as they were but he knew that if there
was a way to regain my humanity then we would find it.
We got the children settled into watching a movie and we proceeded to tell him
what broke the spell. He was shocked to find out that we were expecting another
child but also extremely happy for us because he knew how much love we had to
give.
After he left we set Zoey and Drake down and told them that they were going to
have a new little baby brother or sister in about 5 months time. They were both
happy to be getting a new sibling but Zoey wanted a little sister and Drake
wanted a little brother. They both had their own little motives and we told them
that they would just have to wait and see.
We found out that a few days later that my crazy mother-in-law had escaped from
the loony bin. We asked to see the list of people that have been to see her
lately and that made frequent visits. We saw that the only name on the log was
my loves watcher.
We always knew that my loves watcher was extremely attached to my mother-in-law
but we did not know how deeply the feelings he had for her ran. The doctor told
us that she has been making a vast improvement since he started going and seeing
her and thats why he let the visits continue.
She had even convinced the doctors that she was not crazy any more and that she
was back to her normal self. What they did not realize is that she is very
manipulative and she could get them to do all most any thing she wanted them to.
She even used her pathetic little plea to get people to tell her what was going
on in our lives.
I guess what set her off is when she found out that I was back to being a
vampire and that my love had not left me. But I think they forgot to tell her is
that my spell was broken and that everything was back to normal.
When we went to Sunnydale to try and find my mother-in-law we left Zoey and
Drake with their godfather little did we know at the time was he was in love
with my mother-in-law, so when she showed up at our house in LA. He let her in
because she told him that they released her and all she wanted to do is to see
her grandchildren.
Zoey and Drake were playing on the patio when their grandmother arrived, Zoey
had gotten up to see who was there she hoped that it was her parents but to her
surprise it was the lady that took her away when she was younger. When Zoey saw
that her godfather was talking to the lady she thought everything was going to
be okay but when she saw that the lady was holding a steel pipe in her hand, she
got this strange feeling that something bad was going to happen. Zoey thought
that it would be better to be yelled at by her parents for trying to keep her
and her younger brother safe then to let this woman do something to them.
After my mother-in-law hit my loves watcher over the head with the steel pipe
she made sure that he was unconscious and that he was tied up for when he did
come to he would not be able to call for help. She then went and searched
through out the house trying to find Zoey and Drake. When she could not find
them anywhere in the house she went out on to the patio to see if they were out
there playing, They were nowhere to be found but she did see all their toys that
they were playing with. After awhile she found them hiding in the cliffs near
our house.
	 After trying to call our home several times and receiving no answer we assumed
that something was wrong and we decided to head home to LA since we were not
really accomplishing anything in Sunnydale. When we arrived in LA two hours
later our house was totally trashed and there was no sign of Zoey and Drake.
When we walked into the dinning room we found my loves watcher tied to a chair
still unconscious.  Soon after we untied him he woke up with a major headache,
when we asked him where the children were he told us how my mother-in-law had
taken Zoey and Drake. She was calming it was for their own good because we were
unfit parents.
We notified the police right away telling them that my mother-in-law that had
just escaped from the Sunnydale insane asylum had kidnapped our two children. We
explained to them how she had kidnapped our daughter, Zoey when she was a baby.
They told us that they would put a warrant out for her arrest.
It didnt settle our minds any to know that a crazy person had our children and
they didnt even know this woman. Instead of waiting for the police to catch my
mother-in-law, we started to search for them ourselves. It had been over 6 hours
before some one finally recognized the picture we were showing of our children.
The person said that it looked like the children did not want to be with the
women.
We would not give up on finding our children but my love need to rest because
she is pregnant with our third child. The next day we started our search again,
we knew that they had put more distance between us but that did not stop us. We
both noticed that we were going around in circles, we seem to end up in the same
neighborhood as we started out, which meant that she had to be extremely close.
We started going door to door and showing the pictures of our children stating
that some one had kidnapped them, when people started to say that there had been
some strange people in the neighborhood lately we notified the police. We still
kept on going house to house and then we came up to the house were Zoey and
Drake were being held at. We were not certain that they were being held there it
was just a feeling that my love had. We knocked on the door and my loves father
answered the door. She had not seen him in over 4 years and now he was here.
We asked him a ton of question but he still would not let us inside the house, I
noticed that there were children toys scattered through out the living room.
They police had finally arrived in the neighborhood and while my love was
talking to her father, I went and talked to the police officers. I explained to
them how we thought it was really strange for her father to be here and how he
has childrens toys scattered through out his living room.
When I was talking to the police officers, my love heard Zoey verbally fighting
with her grandmother and then Zoey crying. That only infuriated my love even
more to hear her daughter crying and at that moment is when she pushed her
father out of the way and entered the house looking for her children. She found
Zoey sitting on the floor bawling her eyes out and Drake standing in the corner
afraid that he might get hit next.
By the time I had made it into the house my love was all ready confronting her
mother. My first instinct was to take the children out of harms way and to let
the police officers deal with my mother-in-law and my father-in-law. When Zoey
and Drake saw me they both ran to me and I told them to go with the nice police
officer outside and wait. I went to where my love was standing yelling at her
mother and I bent down and whispered in her ear she is not worth it and
remember you are pregnant with our child. That seemed to snap my love out of
the blinding rage she was in and she turned around and grabbed my hand and
walked out the door to where our children were waiting.
We went home and let the police deal with the kidnappers. Zoey and Drake were a
bit shaken up but they would be all right after a while. They didnt understand
how some one that was related to their mother could be so cruel. Their godfather
was extremely sorry for his part in this horrible tragedy.
People keep secrets for a reason at least they say they do but I think it is
because they dont want to hurt their loved ones. But when they tell certain
people things they dont need to know they end up hurting the people they are
trying to protect.
Chapter 25
The stress that my mother-in-law inflected on my love was not appreciated. The
stress caused her to have a difficult pregnancy. Her blood pressure was up after
this incident I was deeply concerned for my love and the child that she carried
inside of her.  She was only in her 5 month of the pregnancy and there was a
tremendous chance that she could go into premature labor or that she could lose
the baby all together, this scared us more then anything else right now.
Zoey and Drake understood that mommy had to have special care and that she could
not do a lot of things but they did not understand that something could be wrong
with the baby. They wanted a new sibling more then anything in this world. To
them this baby was a symbol of their family and how much love they had in their
family. The baby that my love is carrying inside of her was a symbol of our life
together and how much of a miracle it is. Each one of our children is a miracle
and this one will be as special as Zoey and Drake.
If anything else could go wrong, the trial for the kidnapping was coming up and
my love wanted to go even if it was against doctors orders. She wanted to go
and make sure that they got the strictest punishment possible for kidnapping. I
could not even convince her to go on a little vacation while the trial was
taking place. The judge would probably put my mother-in-law back in the insane
asylum even though my mother-in-law assaulted some one with a deadly weapon but
my father-in-law would probably just receive a large fine. Neither of those
punishments even do justice to what they did to our family.
At the trial, my mother-in-law was put back into the insane asylum under the
understanding that she was not to be released or to have any visitors under any
circumstances. My father-in-law did not even get a punishment for his part in
the crime because his lawyer said that his ex-wife manipulated him into helping
her. Even though we knew the truth we let the judgment stand as long as he knew
that he was not to try and have anything to do with our family.
After the trial my loves blood pressure went down and the doctor was hoping
that everything would get better and that the rest of her pregnancy would be
normal.
Chapter 26
It has been over a month and half since the trial. My love was now almost into
her 7 month of the pregnancy and it had not gotten any easier. The doctor put
her on strict bed rest and she was not allowed to do much of anything. She had
been on this prescription for over two weeks and she had gotten very impatient
within a couple days but she knew that it was best for the baby.
Zoey and Drake were very understanding about how they needed to spend a lot of
time with their godparents, so I could help out mommy. Their godmother was more
than willing to take them off our hands considering she just got married and was
trying to convince her hubby how nice it would be to have children running
around. I will never understand that one considering her husband is more like a
kid then an adult.
Zoey and Drakes godfather was a little more than skeptical, he thought that we
might no trust him or they would not trust him because of what happened before.
But we explained to him that everyone makes mistakes once and awhile and they
all deserved to be forgiven at least once.
Between the two of them I thought we were going to make it until the end of her
pregnancy but fate and the baby had other plans. My love was just entering her 8
month when the baby decided that she could not wait any longer. We both were
extremely worried that there was something terribly wrong with the baby and that
she would not make it. She was coming into this world a month early and that is
something that is not good.
When she was born the doctors took her away from us so fast and they would not
tell us anything about her condition. After about two hours the doctor came in
and explained that she was extremely underweight but beyond that she was
perfectly healthy as much as they could tell. She also explained how they would
need to keep her under close observation for the next couple of weeks. She then
proceeded to tell us that in a few hours we could go and meet our daughter for
the first time.
When we were allowed into the intensive care room where they kept the preemies,
we saw our daughter for the first time since she had been born. We had not given
her a name yet because we wanted to name her when we saw her just like we did
with Zoey and Drake. My love was the first one to hold our daughter Alya, she
was just as perfect as her brother and sister were when they were born.
Alya had a fight to attend but we knew that she would make it and be just fine.
With one look at our daughter I knew that our life had just gotten that much
more special. When we made the call to tell Zoey and Drake that they had a
little sister they wanted to know when they were going to meet her and when
would we be home. We told them that she was a little sick right now and that she
would not be coming home for awhile. They were disappointed but they knew it was
for the best if she was sick.
Alya was kept in the hospital for over two and half weeks and they finally let
us take her home when they were sure that she was gaining weight extensively.
She was still pretty small but that just meant that she was extremely fragile
and had to be handle with care.
When we got home Zoey and Drake were waiting impatiently to meet their younger
sister, they both took one look at her and were taken back and I knew that they
were going to be very protective over her just like they were with each other.
Alya did not know what was in store for her when she got older.
The End
Chapter 24
When our children got back from the excursion with their godfather, they were
totally surprised that I was out front waiting for them with their mother in the
sunlight. Their godfather was as shocked as they were but he knew that if there
was a way to regain my humanity then we would find it.
We got the children settled into watching a movie and we proceeded to tell him
what broke the spell. He was shocked to find out that we were expecting another
child but also extremely happy for us because he knew how much love we had to
give.
After he left we set Zoey and Drake down and told them that they were going to
have a new little baby brother or sister in about 5 months time. They were both
happy to be getting a new sibling but Zoey wanted a little sister and Drake
wanted a little brother. They both had their own little motives and we told them
that they would just have to wait and see.
We found out that a few days later that my crazy mother-in-law had escaped from
the loony bin. We asked to see the list of people that have been to see her
lately and that made frequent visits. We saw that the only name on the log was
my loves watcher.
We always knew that my loves watcher was extremely attached to my mother-in-law
but we did not know how deeply the feelings he had for her ran. The doctor told
us that she has been making a vast improvement since he started going and seeing
her and thats why he let the visits continue.
She had even convinced the doctors that she was not crazy any more and that she
was back to her normal self. What they did not realize is that she is very
manipulative and she could get them to do all most any thing she wanted them to.
She even used her pathetic little plea to get people to tell her what was going
on in our lives.
I guess what set her off is when she found out that I was back to being a
vampire and that my love had not left me. But I think they forgot to tell her is
that my spell was broken and that everything was back to normal.
When we went to Sunnydale to try and find my mother-in-law we left Zoey and
Drake with their godfather little did we know at the time was he was in love
with my mother-in-law, so when she showed up at our house in LA. He let her in
because she told him that they released her and all she wanted to do is to see
her grandchildren.
Zoey and Drake were playing on the patio when their grandmother arrived, Zoey
had gotten up to see who was there she hoped that it was her parents but to her
surprise it was the lady that took her away when she was younger. When Zoey saw
that her godfather was talking to the lady she thought everything was going to
be okay but when she saw that the lady was holding a steel pipe in her hand, she
got this strange feeling that something bad was going to happen. Zoey thought
that it would be better to be yelled at by her parents for trying to keep her
and her younger brother safe then to let this woman do something to them.
After my mother-in-law hit my loves watcher over the head with the steel pipe
she made sure that he was unconscious and that he was tied up for when he did
come to he would not be able to call for help. She then went and searched
through out the house trying to find Zoey and Drake. When she could not find
them anywhere in the house she went out on to the patio to see if they were out
there playing, They were nowhere to be found but she did see all their toys that
they were playing with. After awhile she found them hiding in the cliffs near
our house.
	 After trying to call our home several times and receiving no answer we assumed
that something was wrong and we decided to head home to LA since we were not
really accomplishing anything in Sunnydale. When we arrived in LA two hours
later our house was totally trashed and there was no sign of Zoey and Drake.
When we walked into the dinning room we found my loves watcher tied to a chair
still unconscious.  Soon after we untied him he woke up with a major headache,
when we asked him where the children were he told us how my mother-in-law had
taken Zoey and Drake. She was calming it was for their own good because we were
unfit parents.
We notified the police right away telling them that my mother-in-law that had
just escaped from the Sunnydale insane asylum had kidnapped our two children. We
explained to them how she had kidnapped our daughter, Zoey when she was a baby.
They told us that they would put a warrant out for her arrest.
It didnt settle our minds any to know that a crazy person had our children and
they didnt even know this woman. Instead of waiting for the police to catch my
mother-in-law, we started to search for them ourselves. It had been over 6 hours
before some one finally recognized the picture we were showing of our children.
The person said that it looked like the children did not want to be with the
women.
We would not give up on finding our children but my love need to rest because
she is pregnant with our third child. The next day we started our search again,
we knew that they had put more distance between us but that did not stop us. We
both noticed that we were going around in circles, we seem to end up in the same
neighborhood as we started out, which meant that she had to be extremely close.
We started going door to door and showing the pictures of our children stating
that some one had kidnapped them, when people started to say that there had been
some strange people in the neighborhood lately we notified the police. We still
kept on going house to house and then we came up to the house were Zoey and
Drake were being held at. We were not certain that they were being held there it
was just a feeling that my love had. We knocked on the door and my loves father
answered the door. She had not seen him in over 4 years and now he was here.
We asked him a ton of question but he still would not let us inside the house, I
noticed that there were children toys scattered through out the living room.
They police had finally arrived in the neighborhood and while my love was
talking to her father, I went and talked to the police officers. I explained to
them how we thought it was really strange for her father to be here and how he
has childrens toys scattered through out his living room.
When I was talking to the police officers, my love heard Zoey verbally fighting
with her grandmother and then Zoey crying. That only infuriated my love even
more to hear her daughter crying and at that moment is when she pushed her
father out of the way and entered the house looking for her children. She found
Zoey sitting on the floor bawling her eyes out and Drake standing in the corner
afraid that he might get hit next.
By the time I had made it into the house my love was all ready confronting her
mother. My first instinct was to take the children out of harms way and to let
the police officers deal with my mother-in-law and my father-in-law. When Zoey
and Drake saw me they both ran to me and I told them to go with the nice police
officer outside and wait. I went to where my love was standing yelling at her
mother and I bent down and whispered in her ear she is not worth it and
remember you are pregnant with our child. That seemed to snap my love out of
the blinding rage she was in and she turned around and grabbed my hand and
walked out the door to where our children were waiting.
We went home and let the police deal with the kidnappers. Zoey and Drake were a
bit shaken up but they would be all right after a while. They didnt understand
how some one that was related to their mother could be so cruel. Their godfather
was extremely sorry for his part in this horrible tragedy.
People keep secrets for a reason at least they say they do but I think it is
because they dont want to hurt their loved ones. But when they tell certain
people things they dont need to know they end up hurting the people they are
trying to protect.
Chapter 25
The stress that my mother-in-law inflected on my love was not appreciated. The
stress caused her to have a difficult pregnancy. Her blood pressure was up after
this incident I was deeply concerned for my love and the child that she carried
inside of her.  She was only in her 5 month of the pregnancy and there was a
tremendous chance that she could go into premature labor or that she could lose
the baby all together, this scared us more then anything else right now.
Zoey and Drake understood that mommy had to have special care and that she could
not do a lot of things but they did not understand that something could be wrong
with the baby. They wanted a new sibling more then anything in this world. To
them this baby was a symbol of their family and how much love they had in their
family. The baby that my love is carrying inside of her was a symbol of our life
together and how much of a miracle it is. Each one of our children is a miracle
and this one will be as special as Zoey and Drake.
If anything else could go wrong, the trial for the kidnapping was coming up and
my love wanted to go even if it was against doctors orders. She wanted to go
and make sure that they got the strictest punishment possible for kidnapping. I
could not even convince her to go on a little vacation while the trial was
taking place. The judge would probably put my mother-in-law back in the insane
asylum even though my mother-in-law assaulted some one with a deadly weapon but
my father-in-law would probably just receive a large fine. Neither of those
punishments even do justice to what they did to our family.
At the trial, my mother-in-law was put back into the insane asylum under the
understanding that she was not to be released or to have any visitors under any
circumstances. My father-in-law did not even get a punishment for his part in
the crime because his lawyer said that his ex-wife manipulated him into helping
her. Even though we knew the truth we let the judgment stand as long as he knew
that he was not to try and have anything to do with our family.
After the trial my loves blood pressure went down and the doctor was hoping
that everything would get better and that the rest of her pregnancy would be
normal.
Chapter 26
It has been over a month and half since the trial. My love was now almost into
her 7 month of the pregnancy and it had not gotten any easier. The doctor put
her on strict bed rest and she was not allowed to do much of anything. She had
been on this prescription for over two weeks and she had gotten very impatient
within a couple days but she knew that it was best for the baby.
Zoey and Drake were very understanding about how they needed to spend a lot of
time with their godparents, so I could help out mommy. Their godmother was more
than willing to take them off our hands considering she just got married and was
trying to convince her hubby how nice it would be to have children running
around. I will never understand that one considering her husband is more like a
kid then an adult.
Zoey and Drakes godfather was a little more than skeptical, he thought that we
might no trust him or they would not trust him because of what happened before.
But we explained to him that everyone makes mistakes once and awhile and they
all deserved to be forgiven at least once.
Between the two of them I thought we were going to make it until the end of her
pregnancy but fate and the baby had other plans. My love was just entering her 8
month when the baby decided that she could not wait any longer. We both were
extremely worried that there was something terribly wrong with the baby and that
she would not make it. She was coming into this world a month early and that is
something that is not good.
When she was born the doctors took her away from us so fast and they would not
tell us anything about her condition. After about two hours the doctor came in
and explained that she was extremely underweight but beyond that she was
perfectly healthy as much as they could tell. She also explained how they would
need to keep her under close observation for the next couple of weeks. She then
proceeded to tell us that in a few hours we could go and meet our daughter for
the first time.
When we were allowed into the intensive care room where they kept the preemies,
we saw our daughter for the first time since she had been born. We had not given
her a name yet because we wanted to name her when we saw her just like we did
with Zoey and Drake. My love was the first one to hold our daughter Alya, she
was just as perfect as her brother and sister were when they were born.
Alya had a fight to attend but we knew that she would make it and be just fine.
With one look at our daughter I knew that our life had just gotten that much
more special. When we made the call to tell Zoey and Drake that they had a
little sister they wanted to know when they were going to meet her and when
would we be home. We told them that she was a little sick right now and that she
would not be coming home for awhile. They were disappointed but they knew it was
for the best if she was sick.
Alya was kept in the hospital for over two and half weeks and they finally let
us take her home when they were sure that she was gaining weight extensively.
She was still pretty small but that just meant that she was extremely fragile
and had to be handle with care.
When we got home Zoey and Drake were waiting impatiently to meet their younger
sister, they both took one look at her and were taken back and I knew that they
were going to be very protective over her just like they were with each other.
Alya did not know what was in store for her when she got older.
The End
Chapter 21
It seems like just yesterday when we found out that we were going to have our
daughter Zoey, but in actuality today is the day our son wants into this world.
He is finally ready to make his appearance into this world, after what seems
like nine months of on going torture he is ready to meet his family.
When our daughter Zoey came into this world we had to change so much, we had to
accommodate for her needs and wants, now that our son is making his arrival we
know what to expect but that does not make this any easier. The first time my
love was pregnant everything went much smoother, this time she had to deal with
all this stress and we had to deal with how Zoey would react to not being the
baby any more.
Our daughter has been a perfect angel when it comes to understanding that mommy
cant do this and that but when it came to grasping that she would not be the
only child any more was a little more difficult then we thought it would be. She
knows that the only reason she is with her godmother today is because her little
brother is making his arrival into the world.
We are now preparing for the needs and wants that our son will produce with his
birth. We just hope that he will be as happy as Zoey was when she a born. Our
son, Drake made his presence known to the world with the use of his lungs and we
knew right then and there that he would be out spoken through out his life.
When we brought our son home our daughter was waiting anxiously for us to arrive
so she could meet her little brother. I watched Zoey, our daughter study the new
bundle of joy that my wife held in her arms. Drake decided that this would be
the prefect time to make his presence known to his family that was gathered
around. I was amazingly surprised when my daughter tried to calm her baby
brother down. She accepted her baby brother better then we thought she would.
What was totally amazing was she became very protective over him and would not
let anyone near him that she did not like, which meant that most people were not
allowed near him. Our daughter, Zoey is very skeptical of the world at such a
young age, which is extremely strange. But what can I say when she got genes
like ours.
I dont believe that my life can get any more perfect. I have a wife that I love
more then anything in this world and I have the two most precious children in
this world, a guy could not ask for any thing more.
Chapter 22
It has been a little over four years since we were married and it gets better
and better everyday of our lives. We have two perfect children, that are
talented beyond belief but what does one expect when they come from a slayer and
a former vampire.
Our daughter takes right after her mother in looks and in the attitude
department but she seems to have my sense of judgement. Our son on the other
hand takes after me his old man in the looks and brooding department and he got
his mothers quick judgement. He never thinks about what he is doing he just
goes and does it and waits for the consequences while his sister is the one who
looks out for him and gets him out of trouble.
They are both very protective over each other, they have this connection that no
one can seem to break. We are eternally grateful that they get along so well.
We have not explained the difficulties of our relationship and how we had to
sacrifice so much at one point in time. We thought it would be better if we
waited until they were a little older to explain the hardships of our
relationship. What they need to understand and realize right now in time is that
we love each other and we love them and we will always be a family no matter
what happens.
It seems that more and more often my love is getting called back to Sunnydale to
fight the evil of the earth. I wish I could help her in this battle but with out
my vampire strength I am a distraction for her and a liability that I am not
willing to be. She says that I am helping a great deal by just being with our
children but I am so worried that something will happen to her, since there is
no one to watch her back. She does have a few people helping like her watcher
and one of her best friends from high school, that has seen the light and
accepted our life, but its just not the same. They are as mortal as I am and
they take her concentration away from the fight.
I have been thinking of what I could do to help her in this fight and the only
solution that I can come up with, is the one she does not want to hear. If there
was any other way to make sure that she comes home to our children after a
battle I would not even be thinking this but I cant be sure that she will make
it home. I have decided, I cant say that we decided because she does not want
me to but I am going to go and see the powers that be and ask them to turn me
back to like I was before just so I can help my love out with her quest in life.
When I talked to the powers that be I wanted to know if I did change back if I
would have to be a vampire forever or after this war was over I would be able to
go back to my life. They could not give me an answer since they did not know how
this war was going to turn out. But I had no choice I need to be turned back to
save her life and to ensure my childrens happiness. She knew what my decision
was, even though she did not want me to, she knew I had to do it.
I told them to take away their gift the next day, I spent the whole day with my
family and friends just enjoying the time together. Even though we knew it would
be ending soon it did not stop us from having a good time. That night my wife
and I expressed our feelings for each other in every possible way.
When the morning came I had to hide from the sunlight and had this craving for
blood that I thought I would never have again. I could not watch my children
build sandcastles on the beach with their mother. There is so much I can not do
but it is all worth it if I can prevent the death of the women I love.
The fight of our lives came only 2 short months later. The war between good and
evil was something that neither of us would forget, even though the we won there
was still that question up in the air if I would be given back my humanity. The
day after this tremendous war the powers that be came to see us at our
Sunnydale home.
They were deeply apologetic but they said that there was nothing that they could
do to give me back my humanity. I knew that it was a huge possibility that they
would not be able to give me it back and it was a chance I was willing to take
because if I did not take that risk my childrens mother would not be alive to
watch them grow up. The explained to us the reason they could not perform the
same spell is because some one had executed a spell on me that would not allow
them to interfere. Before they left they pulled me aside and told me that there
was one way to regain my humanity but I had to find that way on my own, they
said they could not help me.
We had no idea what we were going to do and what we were going to tell our
children but we knew that we would get through this.
Chapter 23
It had been a little over one month since we found out that I would not be
returning to the person my children knew. We have done our best to make sure our
children understand what was going on. They knew that our life would never be
the same again but we were together and that is what mattered.
Ever since that day the powers that be told me that there is a way to become
human again, I have not been able to get that out of my mind. I have spent many
hours researching what they meant and have only found out little facts that are
very obscure. What I do know for sure is that to become human again, I have to
be completely and truly happy, without any remorse or hate in my heart.
At this point in time in my heart I cant fulfill the obligations I need to
reverse the spell. I cant say that I will ever be able to accomplish that but I
will not stop trying for the love I have for my family will keep me going. My
heart is filled with so much happiness but also with this sadness that I cant
do certain things.
When my love told me that she need to talk to me about some important things I
was terrified beyond belief because I did not know what else in our life could
go wrong. What was extremely strange is that my childrens godfather took them
to Sunnydale for the day so we could get some time alone. After they were gone I
wanted to know what was going on and my love told me it would be better if I sat
down before she told me what was going on.
I sat down and looked directly into her eyes and all of sudden I knew that
nothing was wrong, that what she had to tell me would only make our life
together better. She did not want me to be upset with her for not telling me
sooner but she had her reasons for keeping this a secret. The suspense was
killing me and I wanted to know what was going on. I told her that no matter
what she had to tell me that we would get through it together.
She then proceeded to take my hand and told me that she was all most 4 months
pregnant with our third child. I could not believe what she had just told me and
then I figured it out why she waited to tell me. She waited because she knew
that I would not let her go into battle if I knew she was pregnant. For some
strange reason I was not mad or anything I was just happy that we were having
another child together. I took my other hand and I laid it on her belly and felt
our child move for the very first time.
At that very moment I was content with my life and the way that fate had played
into my life. I took my loves hand and put it over my heart and for the first
time in all most 4 months she felt my heartbeat once again. It was not the
powers that be that gave me life it was my love.
Life was back to way that it was meant to be now if it could only stay that way.
                     CHAPTER 3
                 Xander groaned and flipped over onto his right side.
                 "I-wanna-sour-cream-n-onion-muffin", he mumbled, incoherently,
in his sleep.
                 He rolled over and managed to roll right off onto the floor,
which woke him up from his slumber.
                 "Ow!", he said, rubbing his head, which was already beginning to
swell up with a nasty looking bump. He wiped his sleep encrusted eyes on his
pyjama sleeve and glanced at his Tweety watch that he had gotten from Willow for
one of his birthdays.
                 "Damn!", he swore. It was twelve o'clock already. He had planned
on getting up early to check out his new neighbor that was moving into one of
the townhouses across the street.
                 But his stomach grumbled, reminding him of his priorities. First
thing's first, Xander thought. He poured himself some orange juice and a bowl of
Fruity Yummy Mummy Cereal. Xander refused to eat Count Chocula cereal ever since
he had run into Dead Boy. But a nice sugary bowl of Fruity Yummy Mummy called up
nostalgic memories of Ampata, the Incan Mummy Girl that Xander had fallen for 2
years ago. (It didn't work out.) He poured milk into his cereal until the fruit
flavoured imitation corn puffs and marshmallows were sopping in it. He then
proceeded to test the Harris Marshmallow Theory by pushing a purple marshmallow
to the bottom of the bowl with his spoon. Yep, he thought,  works every time.
The marshmallow always floats! Xander scarfed down his cereal and OJ, threw on
some clothes, without noticing what they were and ran out the door, eager to
meet his new neighbor.
                 He strategically positioned himself on his front porch, so he
could be within easy access should his female neighbor need any help with her
boxes. All Xander knew about her was that she was straight off the boat from
Ireland. Xander didn't know anyone Irish. Except for that guy in the Lucky
Charms commercial and Dead Boy was supposedly Irish, but I don't think he
counts, Xander thought.
                 But the U-Haul van was gone and it appeared that Xander was out
of luck until he spied a dark blue Volvo pulling up to the townhouse where the
moving van had been when he had been eating brunch.
                 The young woman was quite striking, tall and slim with pale skin
with just a sprinkling of freckles over her cheeks and nose. She had large
emerald green eyes and a cascade of long wavy hair even redder than Willow's.
She was wearing an outfit Cordelia would be jealous of: a dark pink silk blouse,
form fitting navy blue designer pants, earrings that were little silver love
knots and a large silver broach that looked like a circle with a long pin stuck
through it. The broach had Celtic knotwork on it and was studded with
multicoloured gems.
                 She was taking a box out of the trunk of her car. And she was
alone.
                 Xander rushed over to the girl.
                 "Hey", he greeted her,"Do you need any help there?"
                 "No thanks. I can manage", she said, cheerfully.
                 Xander tried for another opening.
                 "I'm Xander Harris, short for Alexander, but only my mom calls
me that. I live across the street from you", he tried again.
                 "Oh!", the girl put the box down on her front porch and shook
Xander's hand,"Hello! I'm Ceara O'Connell". She studied him curiously,"So, is it
liking cartoons, you are, Alexander?"
                 "Wha-?", Xander said and then he saw what Ceara was looking at.
And was mortified.
                 He was wearing a pair of jeans with patches sewn on both knees.
And a Buzz Lightyear t-shirt.
                 His face turned beet red.
                    "Uh, yeah. Cartoons, I like 'em."
                     "Would you like to come inside?", Ceara asked him.
                     Would I ever!!!, Xander thought, deliriously happy. He'd
just met this gorgeous babe and had even looked like a complete moron in front
of her and she still invited him in! Chalk one up for the Xand-Man!
                     "Yeah!", he exclaimed, trying not to sound too eager.
                     He grabbed the last of the boxes from the trunk and followed
her inside.
                     Xander followed Ceara into the kitchen and dinette, where
she instructed him to put the boxes on the counter.
                     "Would you like a drink?", she asked him.
                     "Sure. Do you have any soda?".
                     "I have Diet Pepsi and Dr. Pepper."
                     "Dr. Pepper will be great."
                     Ceara handed Xander a Dr. Pepper from the fridge, got
herself a Diet Pepsi and sat down in the kitchen chair across from Xander.
                     "So", Xander said, trying not to slurp his Dr. Pepper, "What
brings you to good ol' Sunnydale?"
                     "Well, I just graduated from Trinity College in Dublin last
year and I was offered a teaching position at UC Sunnydale."
                     "Really? What subject?", he asked, wondering if she knew
Buffy, Willow or Oz.
                     "I'll be teaching in the Celtic Studies program."
                     "What's that?", Xander asked, bluntly.
                     "It's a program where you learn about Celtic culture,
history and mythology. Are you in college, Alexander?"
                     "Uh, not right now", he said, uncomfortably. He didn't want
her to know that he still lived off his parents and lived in their basement.
                     Just then, Xander hit on the perfect idea. It was perfect
because not only would it shift the focus of the conversation away from his
current living arrangements and unemployment but he would be able to satisfy his
curiousity about exactly what Giles' book contained.
                     "Hey, do you know any Irish?", he asked her.
                     "Yes, why?"
                     "Cause I have this really old book written in Irish and I
can't read it. Do you think you could translate it?"
                     Ceara gave him a puzzled look.
                     She's probably wondering why I have a book written in Irish
in the first place, Xander thought.
                     "Is this your book?"
                     "Uh, no. See, it belongs to my uncle. Uncle Giles. Yeah,
that's right. Good old Uncle Giles. He collects old books and other - stuff. He
won it on an auction on E-bay", Xander babbled,"I'll go get it. Be back in a
sec!".
                     Xander returned with the book, out of breath.
                     Ceara took the book from him and examined it. She read the
title out loud.
                     "An Dearg Due. It's a book about vampires, Alexander", she
told him.
                       "Uh, yeah. I know. Uncle Giles likes weird stuff like
that. He's interested in world legends."
                     "An your uncle won this at an auction? On E-bay??"
                     "Yep! Good old E-bay! God bless the Internet!", Xander lied,
with false cheer.
                     Ceara studied his face, frowning slightly.
                     Boy, she's gorgeous when she does that!, Xander thought, his
heart thumping madly, Come to think of it, she's gorgeous all the time!
                     Down boy!, Xander disiplined himself.
                     "I suppose I could do it, sure I could. I don't start
teaching until next semester, so I'll have lots of time to work on it, now won't
I?".
Buffy sat, gazing around at the serious faces of her friends, not quite
grasping the truth in their words.
She chuckled, the sound sounding eerily strange in the tense and nervous
atmosphere. "So you're trying to tell me that I was romantically involved
with a vampire for over two years, and that I somehow just forgot him?
There's something seriously wrong with that assumption. 'Cause I'm not
seeing how I would forget about something like that."
"There's proof!" Willow exclaimed from where she was perched beside her
friend, then leaned over and pushed back the cloth of Buffy's shirt that
covered her neck wound. "Look. The scar. That's where Angel bit you."
"If Angel bit me then why wouldn't I have just staked him?" She replied,
rolling her eyes.
"Because you forced me." Angel softly replied, the memory of her body so
close to him, laying on top of her on the ground.. "You forced me to
drink your blood."
"Well if you truly loved me you would've been able to suppress the urge
to bite me." She retorted.
Angel lifted his gaze to meet hers. "No. That's not true and you know
it." He stopped suddenly, and wearily brought his fingers up to press
against his throbbing temples. "Actually, no you don't. You have no
comprehension of how deep my love for you ran."
Buffy tensed. "If you love me as much as you say you do, then I would
remember you. How could I ever forget something as meaningful as a
relationship like that? If anything had happened like you said it did,
even for just one day, I would never forget it."
Her words halted him, and he pushed back against the sudden flood of
memories he felt of their lost day. He sighed, blinking back unwanted
tears, and stood, then began to pace, willing the pain to subside. At
least for now.
Cordelia sympathetically stood up next to him, placing a gentle hand on
his arm,  realizing what he was thinking about and how her words were
affecting him.
"You should have told her, Angel." She quietly scolded, knowing that if
they had the memory to share together at least he wouldn't be holding so
much pain.
He nodded. "I know."
The others watched the silent exchange, not understanding what was
corresponding between the two but also recognizing that it wasn't as
important as the problem at hand.
They turned their attention to Buffy.
"You have to believe us, Buffy." Willow pleaded. "Please."
Buffy crossed her arms over her chest. "How do I know that what you're
saying is true? That you're not all part of some big conspiracy and he's
not the leader?"
Xander gave her a look. "Come on, Buff. Like we would do something like
that."
Giles favored her with a disapproving look, almost identical to Xander's.
"That was quite unnecessary, Buffy."
"Oh, it was completely necessary." Buffy disagreed. "I can't trust anyone
right now. You just saved the life of a vampire, and in my book, that's
not exactly the greatest thing anyone has ever done."
"But Buffy, you don't understand." Angel replied, again taking a seat
while Cordelia remained standing.
"But I *do* understand." She said, rising to her feet and giving them all
accusatory glares. "You obviously aren't quite right in the head, or you
wouldn't be thinking that this vampire is a loyal friend or whatever. You
would just kill him without a second thought."
"Now why wasn't she like this back in high school?" Xander wondered
aloud. Cordelia smacked him on the shoulder.
The others ignored them.
Willow stood suddenly and walked over to the table, grabbing a book and
then coming to sit beside her friend again.
"What are you doing?" Buffy hostily asked.
Willow glared at her from beneath her lashes, and Buffy silenced any bad
retorts, recognizing the witch's resolve face laying just below the
surface of her annoyed face.
"I'm looking for a spell that could help you remember stuff."
"Yes," Giles said, reaching over for a dusty old volume that sat on the
table, "That is very smart, Willow. I'm surprised we didn't think of that
earlier."
"So am I." Cordelia mused.
"Well, meanwhile, I think I'm just going to go patrolling." Buffy grabbed
a stake from the table and jumped up from the couch.
"I'll come with you." Angel immediately replied.
The others froze in their activity, raising their gazes to read the
expressions of both Buffy and Angel.
Angel's seemed pained and longing, while Buffy's seemed only disbelieving
and slightly apprehensive.
"Are you sure that's a good idea?" Xander asked.
Anya, who almost seemed permanently latched onto Xander's arm, pouted up
at him. "Why do you care so much if they live or die? You never liked
Angel, as long as they don't stop us from copulating, I don't see any
problems here."
Xander covered her mouth with his hand as Cordelia and Angel, not used to
the ex-demon's constant talk of sexual intercourse, sent them digusted
looks.
"Yes, Anya, there would be a problem with it. And I thought we discussed
the whole 'privacy' thing."
"Well, we did. I just don't see the problem with talking about sex in
front of other people. It's not like they don't know what it is or
haven't done it."
Grabbing her hand, he pulled her away from the group, and they just
simply stared for a moment before Angel again turned his attention to
Buffy.
"Look," Angel began, bringing a hand to place on her shoulder.
She flinched away, and his face reflected in initial hurt at the stinging
action, but he quickly covered it up and remindd himself that this was
not her. Not really.
"I won't hurt you." He whispered.
Buffy didn't say anything, but simply nodded and headed to the door. He
began to follow, but Cordelia tugged at his arm and he stopped to look at
her.
Her face held only concern and he gave her a small smile. "I'll be fine,
Cordy." He promised.
Cordelia rolled her eyes. "Whatever. She's gone psycho on us, Angel! She
could kill you!"
"She won't." He reassured her, attempting to pry her hand off of his
shirt. She only held on tighter. "And if she tries, well, I'm stronger
than her." Cordelia gave him an appraising look. "Alright, maybe she
isn't, but her strength is certainly equivalent to mine. I don't see how
she would be able to beat me in a fight."
She finally relented, dropping her hold on his arm. "Alright." She
grudgingly replied. "But if she does go all psycho on you, promise to
come back here."
"I will." He replied.
She sighed, lifting her face to meet his eyes. Again he saw not the
strong Cordelia Chase that he knew, but a compassionate young woman that
had gone through the death of a much loved accomplice and friend. "Be
careful."
He nodded, and was soon out the door, all the while dreading what would
become of her. Of his Buffy.
He wanted her to remember so badly, and as he ventured out into the
darkness, following her darkened form through the streets of Sunnydale,
he could only hope that somehow she would come back to him.
Without her, he was nothing. She was his redemption.
And the only way he could get that redemption was if he somehow proved to
himself, to the world, and most importantly - Buffy, that he was worthy
of her.
But he couldn't do it if she couldn't remember him.
I think you're talking about Erana's trilogy, she has one exactly like that.
You can find it at her website at
http://www.crosswinds.net/~erana/index2.html, I can't remember the name of
the trilogy, though.  Hope this helps!
I don't know when I'll be able to finish this, but I figured I'd send the
first part out now...  This week is gonna be hectic, but I'll try to get it
out as soon as possible.  Any ideas for a title?
*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~
TITLE:  "Untitled"  (1/?)  Help!  I need a title!
AUTHOR:  Serena
E-MAIL:  rdbdaws0n@...
SUMMARY:  Buffy and Angel spend Valentine's Day together.
CONTENT:  B/A fluff!  I'm not capable of anything else at the moment.
DISCLAIMER:  Oh come one!  <insert snort>  Do you REALLY think I own them??
Would *I* let Buffy sleep with Riley?  Didn't think so.  Joss would, though,
and he did.  All the characters are his.  But Angel is currently...detained.
*G*  I wish...
RATING:  PG-15 for LOTS of sexual innuendo and language.
TIMELINE:  Valentine's Day, set in my 'Lending a Helping Hand' and 'Ringing
in the New Year' 'verse.  Read them first if you want to know what's going on.
SPOILERS:  The above-mentioned stories, I Will Remember You, everything up
through Hush.  Oh, and Willow is NOT involved with Tara in this story.
DISTRIBUTION:  My site-http://www.angelfire.com/ny2/serenav/index.html, the
BA_Fluff Archive-http://www.angelfire.com/ca4/bafluff/index.html </shameless
plugs>, Felicity, Dreamer, Michelle,anyone who has the other two stories...
AUTHOR'S NOTES:  Since I KNOW I'm gonna be having a crappy Valentine's Day, I
figured I'd give Buffy and Angel a happy one.  You have to have read the
other two stories to know what's going on--short summary if you forgot. Angel
was turned human after him and Buffy proved to the Powers that they were
stronger together than apart.  Buffy broke up with Riley and Buffy and Angel
see each other on weekends.
FEEDBACK:  Is a must!  I feel some kind of writer's block forming, and it's
NOT a cool thing...  Any feedback at all is greatly appreciated.
DEDICATION:  To Sarah Michelle Gellar and David Boreanaz, who are 'shippers
just like the rest of us.  *G*  And for Krissy, just 'cause I love her and
she's awesome.
*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*Part 1*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*
Buffy Summers sighed deeply and shifted in the uncomfortable wooden chair she
was seated in.  She was trying very hard to concentrate on the lecture
Professor Walsh was giving--something about the dangers of co-dependency--and
was finding it increasingly difficult to keep her mind from straying to lusty
thoughts about her boyfriend.  He was coming to Sunnydale that night so the
two of them could spend some time together that upcoming weekend.  Plus he
was staying for Valentine's Day and had promised her a night out on the town.
  Buffy couldn't wait.
She brushed a piece of golden hair from her eyes and looked around the room
at her fellow students.  Some were enraptured by Walsh's lecture, while
others were snoring and one even had his discman blaring.  Buffy's eyes
traveled lazily around the room, catching Riley Finn's gaze.  She held it for
a moment and then looked away, knowing he still had feelings for her but not
caring.  She had Angel.
Buffy sighed happily when she thought of her lover.  She couldn't believe
that he had been human for two months already, it felt like only yesterday.
Being separated from him was hard and lonely, but they did what they could.
They dealt.  It was better than not being together at all...  She had not
seen him in nearly three weeks and felt as though she was going to go insane
from the feeling of incompleteness.  But he would be there soon and
everything would be all right.
Professor Walsh signaled to Riley, who began passing around a packet of
papers to each student.  During the lull, a cell phone went off.  Startled,
Buffy looked around, wondering who would be so rude as to call during a
class. She strained to hear the ring again to decipher where it had come
from, and realized with a wince that the sound was coming from her purse.
Quickly snatching it off the ground, Buffy hunted around for the tiny phone
Angel had gotten her. She hastily opened it.
"Hello?" she said, her voice an embarrassed whisper.  She felt the eyes of
fifty college students and one angry professor on her and groaned inwardly.
"Hey baby," Angel said, his seductive voice making her shiver.  She smiled
before remembering that she was being watched, at which point she shrank down
in her chair to try and remove herself from her classmates' eyes.
"Angel, sweetheart, I'm kind in the middle of Psych here," she hissed,
although she was actually rather happy he had called.
"You are?" he asked, a touch of disappointment in his voice.  "I'm sorry, I
thought you had Psych at three on Fridays."
"It's okay," she said reassuringly, touched that he had remembered.  "It's
just that I don't think Professor Walsh appreciates me interrupting her class
to make with the mushy talk with you."
Angel chuckled.  "Okay, I'll let you go.  I'll see you in a few hours?"
"You'd better believe it.  And you DO know that you're making up not seeing
me for *three* whole weeks as soon as you get here, right?"   Angel growled
playfully.
"I look forward to it," he said, promise in his voice.  "I love you, Buffy."
"I love you too, Angel.  See you soon."  She pulled the phone away from her
ear and stared at it for a moment, a goofy grin on her face.  Willow cleared
her throat and Buffy suddenly remembered that she was still in class.
Blushing furiously, she shut the phone off and slipped it back into her bag,
slumping down in her seat and suddenly becoming VERY interested in the packet
in her lap.
Professor Walsh looked at her expectantly.  "Well?  Who was that?"
Buffy blinked.  She hadn't been expecting Professor Walsh to care, she
thought she was gonna lecture...  "What?" she asked, unsure of the answer she
was looking for.
"We're all rather curious now, tell us all about this person who just called
you," she clarified, crossing her arms over her chest and leaning against her
desk. Buffy swallowed.
"It was my boyfriend, Angel," she said with a shrug.  "He's coming to town
later tonight and just wanted to call and check in."
"Oh, I see," the older woman said, bracing her hands on the top of her desk
behind her.  "And he had to interrupt my class to do it?"
Buffy blushed and tucked a strand of blond hair behind her ear. "Sorry about
that," she apologized, "he didn't know I had Psych at three and not two."
"I'm assuming you two are involved quite seriously?" she asked, a thoughtful
expression on her face.  Buffy hesitated, not sure of where her professor was
going with this.
"Well, yeah.  We just got back together two months ago and I know I'm going
to spend the rest of my life with him," she said confidently, her eyes
glazing over in that sweet way they always did that told everyone she was in
love.
Maggie Walsh sighed.  "I see.  Now tell me, Buffy, would you consider your
relationship a healthy one?  Or is it a co-dependency, like the kind I just
described?"
"It's healthy," she said firmly, glancing at Willow to verify her answer.
Willow smiled slightly and nodded.  "It wasn't last year, but we spent some
time apart and then the Powers That Be decided it was time for us to get back
together.  So we did."  She smirked, knowing that everyone thought she was
just doing the freaky-religion thing, when in actuality that's what had
happened.
"And why wasn't it last year?" Professor Walsh pressed.  Buffy's eyes flashed
slightly.
"What's with all the questions?" she asked, an edge in her tone.  The
professor smiled smoothly and waved her hand dismissively at the offended
girl.
"Just trying to give the class some real-life examples," she said smoothly.
"Now, to continue on with my point..."
Buffy tuned her out almost immediately.  She felt a set of eyes on her, and
turned her blonde head to see Riley Finn staring at her with dark eyes.  She
coolly met his gaze with her icy one, until he finally looked away.
Rolling her hazel eyes, Buffy turned her attention to doodling in her
notebook, content to write 'Buffy and Angel Forever' in her notebook for the
remainder of the class, anxiously awaiting her lover.
*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*
After class was over, Buffy headed over to the campus coffee shop for a
cappuccino, then back to her dorm room to begin the homework Professor Walsh
had assigned for the weekend.  Arriving at her door, she was shocked to see a
lavender rose resting in the plaque that displayed their room number.  She
idly removed it, bringing it to her face and breathing its scent in deeply.
Buffy looked around but saw no one else in the hallway.  With a shrug, she
fitted her key in the lock and quickly opened the door.
She entered with her head down and turned to face the door when she closed
it, making sure it was locked.  Turning around and looking up, she started
and gasped.
"Are you trying to give me a heart attack?!" she demanded, dropping her bag
by her closet and taking off her cardigan to reveal a matching lavender tank
top.  Angel grinned at her and shifted.  He was laying on his side on her
bed, the latest issue of Cosmo open next to him.  He propped himself up on
his right elbow.
"I highly doubt surprising you would give you a heart attack, Buffy," he
said, cocking an eyebrow and smirking before turning his attention back to
her magazine.  Buffy shot him a look and draped her sweater over the back of
her chair.  She faced him once more and crossed her arms over her chest, the
rose dangling from her fingertips.
"Yeah, yeah, whatever.  What are you doing here this early?  I thought you
wouldn't be here until seven," she said.  "I'm assuming this is from you?"
She held up the rose in emphasis.  Angel nodded and smiled.  "Thank you, it's
beautiful."
"You're welcome, beloved.  And I was able to leave earlier than I thought, so
I figured I'd come and surprise you," he replied, turning the page.  His eyes
nearly bulged out of his head when he saw the article about sex.  "Where in
the world do they come up with these things?!"
Buffy giggled.  "I don't think we want to know," she said, "but I'm sure
they're fun..."  She trailed off suggestively, unfolding her arms and
dropping the rose on her dresser before crossing to the foot of her bed.
Angel closed the magazine and put it on her nightstand, inching over so she
would be able to lay on the bed comfortably as well.
"Why don't you come here so we can find out?" he told her, patting the bed
suggestively.  Buffy smiled and quickly kicked off her sneakers, slowly
beginning to crawl up the bed towards him.  She looked like a predator about
to strike, her eyes dark with lust.  Angel swallowed hard, trying to not give
in to his instincts and pull her to him.
Buffy crept up the bed, rubbing her body against Angel's in the process.
When she was finally near him, Angel pulled her up the rest of the way and
crushed his mouth to hers.  Buffy grinned against his lips and pressed her
body against his as Angel wrapped his arms around her waist.
They broke apart only when the need for oxygen became too great.  Buffy
sighed happily and nuzzled his neck, pressing a soft kiss on his delicate
flesh.  Angel groaned and pulled her face up to his again, kissing her gently
this time.  Buffy's hands snaked down and began the task of undoing his belt
as Angel's hands ventured up the front of her shirt.
And then the door opened.
They broke apart sheepishly and looked up to see Willow's shocked expression.
  Angel reluctantly removed his hands from underneath her tank top, moving
them down to rebuckle his belt.  Willow held up a hand.
"Don't bother," she said with a grin.  "I just wanted to tell Buffy that I'm
gonna be pulling an all-nighter at the library, I have a paper due tomorrow
and I'm nowhere near done."
Buffy tried to fix her mussed hair.  "Okay, Will, sounds like fun."  Willow
rolled her eyes.
"Oh, yeah, tons."  She turned to go, then looked over her shoulder at the
couple resting comfortably on Buffy's bed.  "You guys can go back to what you
were doing now, I'm leaving.  I'll see you in the morning."
Buffy blushed.  "Later, Will," she said as Willow left, making sure she heard
the click of the lock engaging.  Giggling, she turned back to Angel.  "Now
where were we?"
Angel gently pulled her up so he could remove her tank top and bra.  Laying
her against the pillows, he kissed her sweetly and said, "Right about here."
*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*
They lay intimately entwined in her sheets, Angel's fingertips gently grazing
her arm.  Buffy burrowed into his chest and sighed happily, placing a kiss
over his heart before looking up at him.
"I don't think I'll ever get tired of doing that," she said with a secretive
grin.  Angel raised an eyebrow.
"I like the sound of that," he replied, pulling her closer.  "We still have
all those things to try."  Buffy looked over her shoulder at the open
magazine and giggled.
"I think I liked that one best."
"Buffy, that's the only one we did," Angel said.  "The others will be better."
Buffy's eyes sparkled.  "Is that a promise?" she asked huskily, leaning close
to him.
"You'd better believe it," he said before catching her lips in a fiery kiss.
He pressed a soft one to her sweaty forehead and sighed contently.  Buffy
brushed a piece of matted hair out of her eyes and rubbed her hand gently
over his hard stomach.
"I missed you," she said, turning her head to look up at him.  She rested her
cheek on his chest, breathing deeply to inhale his scent.  Angel brought a
hand up to caress her cheek.
"I missed you, too, baby.  I missed not holding you," he replied softly,
gazing deeply into her hazel eyes.
"We really have to do something about this," she told him.
"About not seeing each other for three whole weeks?" he asked.  She nodded.
"I can't stand it," she whispered longingly.  Angel brushed his finger over
her lips and Buffy's tongue snaked out, drawing his pointer into her mouth.
She lightly sucked on it, looking up at Angel from underneath her lashes.
Angel groaned as he felt a wave of desire wash over him.  "Not being able to
hold you...kiss you...taste you...it drives me crazy."
She accentuated each word with a soft kiss, alternating between his chest and
his finger.  Angel whimpered and pulled her up to him, his flesh tingling
when it touched her bare skin.  "I know the feeling," he said hoarsely, a
gleam growing within the chocolate depths of his irises.  "But we're together
now, so let's make the most of it."
They began kissing again, Angel tugging Buffy on top of him.  They were
interrupted by Buffy's stomach growling, and Angel leaned back against the
pillows and laughed, moving to push Buffy off of him and get up.
"Or we can just go eat and--"
Buffy effectively blocked his arm, locking eyes with him.  "Sounds like a
plan to me," she whispered, leaning down to place kisses on his chest.  Her
questing mouth traveled down as Angel realized what she was doing.  "I like
the way you think," he told her, his breath coming short as she reached her
destination.
Angel forgot how to talk at that moment.
________________________________________________
Take one moment of time away, what it would be someone asked me. I saw
her today for the first time in over five years. She looked like a sad
puppy dog. Something in her eyes had gone out.
Buffy doesn't love Riley. I know that deep in her heart, she has
feelings for me. The way she looked at me was full of longing. Cordelia
says that I shouldn't have gone. All I did was cause Buffy more pain.
Wesley says that I should go to her and tell her how much I care.
Cordelia and Wesley, who would have thought that those two would have been
married. As different as night and day, yet when you see them together,
it's like nothing else matters. They only have eyes for one another.
They got married a year ago. I was Wesley's best man and Cordelia got her
friend, Sasha to be her maid of honor. Cordelia made a beautiful bride. They
had an outdoor wedding. In a way, I wish that had been me and Buffy.
That never happened because of my stupidity.
When I knocked on her door, things became tense between us. What makes
it worse is that me and Riley can't stand one another? Riley is a sniveling
little coward who doesn't deserve her. Yet she is married to the guy.
Personally, I want her and have to see her again. Seeing her
once was bad enough, but that made me realize I need my Buffy.
"Hello, I'm coming." Her sweet voice echoed as she opened the door
towel drying her hair.
"Hi, Buffy. I heard you were in town." That was the first thing I said
to her.
"Come on in Angel, let me get change into something more comfortable.
It's good to see you." Buffy curved her beautiful lips into a smile
that made me feel weak in the knees.
A few minutes later she came out in an old pair of jeans and t-shirt.
The way evcerything fit her, made her all the more appealing.
"Why are you really here, Angel?" She asked me so bluntly that it
took me by surprised.
"I needed to see you, Buffy. It's been so long since we've talked."
Knowing that Buffy would blame me for the whole Kate scenario a few
years back.
"We know the reason why, you left because you didn't want me.
You were selfish. I only wanted to be with you and it hurts that
we could never be together." Tears came to her eyes. I realized that
this wasn't such a good idea, when he came in.
"Buffy, sweetheart, why didn't you tell me we were having company.
I'm Riley and you are...?" Riley asked me smugly. I hated
his patronizing attitude towards the woman I loved.
"Angel, an old high school buddy of Buffy's." Extending my hand
out to her husband, who seemed to be more interested in his
home.
"Nice to meet you. Buffy, is dinner ready, yet?" He asked her like
she was his slave.
"Riley, let's go out to eat. Would you like to join us, Angel?" Her
eyes were pleading for me to join her, but I said the wrong thing,
"Normally I would love to you, but I'm working on a big case." Lying to her
sweet face. I knew that if I stayed there, that there would be trouble.
I can't shake the feeling that her marriage is not solid, but shaky.
Buffy, what am I going to do. These last few years have been so empty
without you. The last thing I want for you is to hate me. Hate me for breaking
up my marriage.
"Just go after and tell her the truth, Angel. God, watching you mope
over is her is not doing you any good. Besides, if she isn't happy,
you need to find out the reason." Cordelia voice's said as she
came to the office.
"Any particular reason you came to the office, Cordelia." Angel
asked his friend.
"Wesley wanted me to check in on you as he is off investigating
a lead on the whatever you call it, to see if you are okay." Cordelia
told me. Deep down, she was concerned for him.
"I'm fine, Cordelia. Go home and relax." I told her.
As she left the office, I realized that I wanted to be as happy as
she was. Buffy was unhappy, and he intended to find out the reason.
The End.
To be continued in another installment.
Don't worry about it.  This happened to another internet site once, where the
someone is screwing around with net addies or something.
