I knew when Lily walked into Craig's room that he would think it was
her holding him!  I haven't seen Wednesday's so hopefully she can
help him.  Again, it sounds like Craig has wronged a few people.  So
tell me guys -- should he get out or is he getting what he
deserves?  And Sierra -- knows she is Lucy's mom and Craig's ex, but
I don't know she seems cold.  Maybe because of what Craig has done
to her or is that just her.  Help!

And oh boy that cat fight with Julia and Carly!  I feel for Carly
having to deal with Julia.  In a way and again I haven't seen
everything, it seems like Julia is partly to blame for her situation
as she knew that Jack was a married man and then fell in love with
him.  I feel so sorry for JJ, but not for Julia!  Am I wrong to
think that?

Recap for As the World Turns - Tuesday December 21st 2004


MUSON HOUSE

Barbara tries to get Emily to tell her more about what happened at
Fairwinds the night before. Emily remembers her run-in with Will but
does not reveal to Barbara what happened; she simply says that
something got in her way. When the phone rings, Barbara leaves the
room to answer it and Emily opens the door and finds Will standing
outside. Will demands that Emily explain why she is torturing
Rosanna about Cabot but Emily has nothing to say. Will continues to
press and Barbara interrupts, demanding to know what is going on. At
first Will does not want to say but he finally tells Barbara that
Emily has been trying to harm Rosanna. Barbara decides to face Will
on her own and sends Emily upstairs. Will explains everything to
Barbara, who is shocked to learn that Paul and Rosanna both think
Will is responsible. Quick to get her son home, Barbara says that he
should move back to the house and be with her and Hal. Will explains
to her that he has been hiding from Hal and that if Hal finds him,
he will be sending him back to the hospital. Barbara offers money to
hire lawyers who will keep Will from returning to the hospital but
he refuses. She offers to remove the bracelet and join him on the
run but he says that will make it too easy for the police to find
him. He tells Barbara that if she really wants to help, she needs to
convince Emily to confess. Barbara tells Will that she cannot do
that, proving to Will that once again he is on his own. He takes off
and Barbara chastises her so-called brilliant plan. She is about to
get rid of the drugs she has been slipping to Emily when another
plan hatches in her mind. She has one more way to help Will.


AARON'S APARTMENT


Aaron opens the door and sees Alison standing outside holding a
Christmas tree. She thought it would brighten up the apartment.
Aaron is still seething from the scene at Al's and asks Alison to
explain her actions. She tells him that after the fight she just
wanted him to focus all his energy on getting well. When she learned
about Ben's problems she did not want him to find out because she
did not want anything to set him back. She tells him he has always
done things to try and help her and that is all she was doing for
him; for once she was not lying for her own selfish reasons. She
tells him that he's her guy; he's her best friend and she wants to
do anything she can for him. Aaron explains to her that he is having
a hard time trying to remember the guy he used to be and her
hovering over him and coddling him is not helping him and he asks
her to leave. Alison promises to change if he lets her stay but he
tells her that if she stays, he will change and he won't like the
person he becomes. He leaves so she can pack up her things and
leave. Alison leaves a Christmas present for Aaron under the tree,
when she is done packing. She is ready to leave when Will knocks on
the door, begging for her help.


METRO


Ben finds Curtis and asks where he was all night. Curtis no longer
feels obligated to disclose to Ben every detail of his life and
decides that he is going to take a page out of Ben's book; he will
share only what he wants to share and he will do it when he chooses
to. He cannot understand how Ben could give up on everything and run
and Ben tells him he does not understand how important a reputation
is in order to have a successful career. Curtis makes it clear that
he cannot forgive his father. Ben decides to call Jessica.


AL'S DINER


Jessica joins Chris for a cup of coffee and starts to pressure him
about Alison getting the hospital record from Aaron's surgery. She
suspects that Chris is responsible for this and issues a veiled
threat. Chris knows Jessica wants to do all she can to help Ben,
partly because she is trying to make up for the pain she caused and
partly because she thinks he is an excellent doctor, but Chris tells
her that if she wants those records, she is going to have to get
them through Ben. Jessica receives a call from Ben who wants to
meet. Ben tells her about his talk with Curtis and tells Jessica he
wants to rescind the resignation and fight for his job. Jessica
agrees to help him.


Aaron comes in and he and Chris talk. Aaron tells Chris he asked
Alison to move out and Chris calls him an idiot.


SNYDER HOUSE


Lily calls Margo over and tells her about the monastery and Sierra's
ties to it. She convinces Margo to call Brother Francis. At first,
Margo is doubtful that Sierra could have played a part in Craig's
disappearance but Lily convinces her to call. She speaks with
Francis who agrees to meet with her. Francis arrives but does not
give them a straight answer about anything they ask. He agrees to
let Margo search the monastery, provided she has a search warrant.
Margo agrees that Francis knows something but knows she cannot get a
warrant. Lily decides to take matters into her own hands and she
takes off.


THE LAKEVIEW


Lucinda tries to convince Sierra to release Craig. If Dominic did do
something to Lucy, they need someone who can play dirty. Sierra is
confident that Dusty will be helpful but Lucinda cannot understand
why she would trust him and not trust Craig. Sierra is not sure
Craig has truly redeemed himself and she is confident that his
involvement would make matters worse. Brother Francis meets with
them and tells Sierra of his meeting with Margo and Lily. He is
disturbed that Craig's disappearance is now hurting two innocent
people and thinks reading a letter from Craig may help to change her
mind. Sierra reads the letter but is still reluctant to trust Craig.
She rings Dusty who believes he may know where they are. Sierra
leaves.


MONASTERY


Craig requests that Brother Francis give his captor a Christmas
present – a letter he wrote to them. Craig tells Francis he believes
either one of his ex-wives arranged his stay, or perhaps his
daughter. Either way, he would like an opportunity to communicate
with them. Francis agrees to give the letter.


Later, Craig is alone in his cell, utterly fed up with all the
chanting. A hooded monk enters his cell and Craig is shocked to see
that the "monk" is in fact Lily.

CAN DUSTY SAVE LUCY?

January finds Lucy once again in jeopardy.  "Dusty and Rafael are both
deeply concerned for Lucy's safety, and both go to great lengths to save
her," the exec explains.  But as her ex-lover and friend both struggle to
rescue her, will the one who does win her heart?  "You'll have to watch to
see what happens!" Dwyer-Dobbin teases.


EMILY FIGHTS BACK!

Barbara continues to manipulate her family instead of trying to heal
herself.  "In Barbara's mind, she's doing the right thing to reunite her
family and bring Will home," the boss says.  But when her latest round of
tricks leave Emily forced to defend her honor to Hal, has Babs found the
Munson marriage's Achilles' heel?


IS ROSANNA'S MARRIAGE IN TROUBLE?

With her union to Paul only a couple of months old, Rosanna finds herself
struggling to keep her home together as she ties to repair her strained
relationships with her husband and especially his little brother.  "Will
was very excited about their marriage," Dwyer-Dobbin previews, "but
circumstances may cause him to rethink how he feels about Rosanna."


WILL JULIA STEAL HOLDEN?

Though reunited with Carly, Jack continues to be drawn to Julia and JJ.
"Jack's true love is Carly," says Dwyer-Dobbin, "but he cares deeply for
both women.  Also Jack considers JJ his son, and vows to stand by his
promises to him."  Complicating matters further, Julia leans on Holden for
support, creating friction in his already fragile marriage.  "Although
frustrated with Lily, Holden is committed to his family,"  she explains.
"He feels sympathy for Julia and offers his friendship to her."  How will
Lily react to this new threat to her happiness?


ROMANCE BLOSSOMS

"Alison is hopeful and determined to help Aaron both physically and
mentally," previews the exec.  And as she aids in his recovery, their love
begins to grow and strengthen.  Also, Tom and Margo continue on their path
to reconciliation while Ben and Jessica also begin to take small steps
toward each other.


KATIE WANTS MIKE BACK!

Despite the fact that her every attempt to steal Mike away from Jen has
blown up in her face, Katie won't give up and hatches an elaborate plan
with Henry to win back her love.  Why not come clean?  "What would be the
fun of that?"  Dwyer-Dobbin laughs.  "Katie just can't help herself!"  But
will she succeed?

released from the show; a show spokesperson describes the actor's exit as
"storyline-dictated" -- logical, since Jordan has had little to do ever

revealed that Beetem will last air on Thursday, January 27th.

Bryggman Out AFter 35 Years!


Larry Bryggman, who took home a pair of Emmys over the course of his run
as Dr. John Dixon, vacated the role in mid-November and last will be seen
on screen Tuesday, December 14.  "We'd like to thank Larry Bryggman for
his 35 years of dedication to ATWT," says executive producer Christopher
Goutman in a statement.  "We will miss him in Oakdale."

Bryggman, also a two-time Tony nominee, currently co-stars in Broadway's
TWELVE ANGRY MEN, and has "moonlighted" in such films as DIE HARD: With A
Vengeance and SPY GAME.  An ATWT rep says there are no plans to recast,
and that John's absence will not immediately be explained on screen.

"I'm going to miss Larry very much," says Helen Wagner (Nancy), who, as an
original cast member, is one of the few to eclipse Bryggman's seniority.

I haven't seen much of Mike and Katie.  The actress I know just had
a baby, but boy does she look young! lol

In any case, I also like Jennifer and Mike together.  They have
chemistry.  I cannot believe that Katie is lying about her "supposed
husband" still.  That is just plain dumb!  I know I read that it
wouldn't be as much fun if Katie just told him the truth.  Ok maybe
it wouldn't be but I still think it is dumb!  LOL

Ok so is James, if I remember seeing this off and on the right soap,
was James in a prision and Paul would go and visit him from time to
time?  Is James' the father of Jordan and Paul?  And did James'
leave the show for good or temporaily?

Well I haven't seen it faithfully since July.  Been
really busy and haven't had time to watch tapes so I
stopped taping it for a little while.  As I have time
I am reading the transcripts, but what I had read is
that he isn't really dead.  James Steinbeck kidnapped
him and made it look as though he was killed (in a
fire I beleive)

Recap for As the World Turns - Monday December 20 2004


At Metro Katie gives her cell phone to Mike telling him Simon would
like to speak to him. Henry (who is pretending to be Simon) asks
Mike to help him with Katie. Simon asks Mike to keep Katie Company
over Christmas.

At Fairwinds, Rosanna cries and wonders why Will would walk in
holding a doll dressed exactly the way she dressed Cabot last
Christmas. Paul also wonders why his brother could do something like
this to Rosanna.

At Al's Diner, Jack buys J.J a gigantic Sundae as he tries to
persuade J.J that living at the farm will be fun.


J.J wonders why Jack can't live at the farm with him and his mom if
it is so much fun living there. Jack explains that he has his own
family but that doesn't mean their relationship will ever change.
Jack tells J.J. that they will see each other all the time.


Carly is stunned to see Julia at the farm when she goes to deliver
the wrapping paper Emma ordered to her. Carly calls Emma's name a
few times but doesn't get an answer from her. Julia informs Carly
Emma will be back soon she is just running an errand. Julia assures
Carly she didn't break into the farm because Emma welcomed her with
open arms. Julia begs Carly not to make trouble for her with Emma.
Julia also asks Carly to have some decency and leave her and J.J
alone.


At Fairwinds, Will explains to Paul and Rosanna that he had just
gotten home and was about to open the front door to come inside the
house when a woman shoved the doll in his hands. Will tells Paul and
Rosanna that he didn't see the woman or even know what the doll
looked like until he came inside the house. Paul decides to call Hal
so he can check if there are any signs that someone tried to break
into the house.


At Metro, Mike wonders why Simon is making such a strange request of
him when Katie has family and friends in Oakdale. Simon explains to
Mike that Margo will probably be busy looking for Craig and won't
have much time to spend with Katie. Simon also tells Mike that this
Christmas may be difficult for Katie since her brother is messing.
Simon tells Mike he is just to spend time with Katie until he can
arrive which won't be until the first of the year. Mike tells Simon
he will think about the request then he gives the phone back to
Katie. Katie keeps up the charade and thanks Simon for calling then
she hangs up the phone.


At Holden and Lily's house, Holden arrives with flowers for Lily but
is told by Luke his mom is upstairs wrapping presents and he has
instructions that nobody is to go upstairs. Holden wonders if Carly
is in the kitchen. Luke tells his dad that Lily sent Carly over to
Emma's to deliver the wrapping paper she needs for the hospital
Christmas party. Holden senses trouble so he calls jack but Jack has
his cell phone turned off. Holden considers asking Lily to go to the
farm but thinks better of the idea. Holden thinks his mom will be
able to handle things between Carly and Julia but he has his doubts
so he heads over to the farm.


At the farm, Carly wants Julia to stop playing the victim act like a
grown up pack her bags and leave Oakdale. Carly asks Julia to stop
using the husbands of other women to fix her problems. Carly thinks
Julia is a parasite and tells her to take her claws out of Jack and
Holden and leave town so she can find someone else to bleed dry.


At Metro, Henry returns to the table and is informed by Katie that
Simon called to wish her a merry Christmas but spent most of the
phone call talking to Mike. Mike and Jennifer leave because Mike
tells Katie they have something they must do. Henry tells Katie
every detail of the conversation that he had with Mike. Henry tells
Katie that Jennifer is a nice person. Katie tells Henry she doesn't
care if Jennifer is nice because soon Mike will be back with her
where he belongs.


At Fairwinds, Will tells Paul that after he confessed what he did to
Rose Paul promised him that he would always be his brother no matter
what he had done he would always love him. Will tells Paul that it
was his love and belief in him that kept him going while he was in
the mental institution. Will begs Paul to believe that he loves him
and Rosanna and he would never do anything to hurt her. Will tells
Paul he would never do anything to mess up his second chance. Will
asks Rosanna to look into his eyes so she can know he is telling the
truth.


Hal arrives and finds no signs of forced entry but Will thinks
Rosanna have already poisoned Hal's mind against him.


At Al's Diner, a sad J.J won't touch his sundae and tells Jack the
Sundae is too big for him. Jack decides to share the sundae with
J.J. and J.J, gets happy again. J.J. wonders if Santa knows his new
address. Jack assures J.J that Santa knows where he lives. J.J wants
to wait for Jack to arrive at the farm to open his presents on
Christmas day. Jack encourages J.J to open his presents first thing
in the morning but to take a lot of pictures because he must be with
his family. Jack tells J.J he will arrive at the farm later in the
day with presents for him from Carly, Parker, and Sage J.J gets sad
again and tells jack he doesn't want presents from them. Jack tells
J.J he must try to get along with Carly, Parker and Sage because
families must try to get along with each other.


At the farm, Julia tells Carly to leave but Carly refuses to leave
because it isn't Julia's house it belongs to Emma who is a member of
her family. Julia thinks Carly is insecure about her marriage that
is why she feels threatened by her and J.J. Julia tells Carly Jack
loves her and J.J and Carly can't stand that because they will
always be a part of his heart. Carly makes it clear to Julia that
what Jack feels for her and J.J is pity not love. Carly also tells
Julia that Jack couldn't possibly love a woman he has only known for
a few months and a little boy who isn't even related to him by
blood. Carly tells Julia she and Jack have a long history together
and Sage is Jack's only blood child, which was conceived from their
love for each other.


The two begin to push each other back and forth until they get into
a huge and very physical fight. Julia notices Holden arrive and
continues to push Carly's buttons until Carly grabs her and puts her
hands around her neck Holden pulls apart the two women. Julia tells
Holden that once you have been an abused woman you can't stand to
have people put their hands on you in a violent way. Julia tells
Holden she always tries to find ways to solve problems in a
civilized grown up way rather then use violence. Carly explains to
Holden Julia started the fight but Holden looks like he believes
Julia not Carly. Carly tells Holden how Julia discovered Jack's true
identity and came to Oakdale spied on his family and kept the truth
from jack on purpose. Carly also tells Holden that having Julia live
at the farm was a bad idea and the person that had the idea needs to
have their head examined. Jack arrives and tells Carly that having
Julia live at the farm was his idea.

At Metro, Katie asks Henry to go over everything Mike said to him on
the phone one more time. Katie also wants to know everything about
Mike and Jennifer's relationship Henry explains that Mike, Nikki, he
and Jennifer always went out as friends and had fun together up
until recently when Mike and Jennifer have gotten closer. Katie asks
Henry to describe the sort of person Jennifer is. Henry describes
Jennifer as smart, classy, sensitive, nice and pretty.


At the Park, Mike apologizes that their friendly get together with
Katie and Henry got ruined. Jennifer tells Mike she understands and
not to worry about it. Jennifer wants to know what Simon told Mike
while they spoke on the phone. Mike explains Simon's strange request
of him. Jennifer also thinks the request is strange. Mike asks
Jennifer what he should do about it since he doesn't want Katie to
affect their relationship. Jennifer encourages Mike to spend
Christmas with Katie.


Jennifer thinks that if Katie's husband trusts Mike to be alone with
Katie after their past relationship then she shouldn't be threatened
by Mike spending time with Katie either. Mike thinks Jennifer is the
most caring and understanding woman he has ever met.


At Al's Diner, Hal wants Will to calm down so they can talk. Will
feels hurt that his father doesn't believe that he would never hurt
Rosanna. Will explains that a blonde woman gave him the doll. Hal
suggest s will go visit his doctor again for a few days. Will is
afraid once he enters the mental institution he will never leave
again. Hal asks Will if he can describe the blonde woman to him.
Will tells his father that if he told him the woman's identity he
would really think he was crazy. Hal walks away a few minutes to
take a phone call. Will tells himself the blonde woman was Emily and
he vows to discover who is trying to frame him.


At Fairwinds, Paul informs Rosanna that Will has decided to live at
Bob and Kim's house, Rosanna thinks Will needs more therapy while
Paul remains torn between his wife and brother because he finds it
hard to believe his brother would terrorize Rosanna. Rosanna thinks
Paul needs intensive therapy and suggests a clinic in Switzerland.
Rosanna is surprised Paul still thinks Will is innocent.


Holden fills Jack in on what happened between Carly and Julia. Jack
goes out on the porch to talk to Carly while Holden stays inside to
calm a shaky Julia down. Julia cries and tells Holden they will be
gone as soon as they find a place to live. Holden tells Julia that
she can stay as long as she wants and enjoy a Snyder family
Christmas with Emma. Holden promises Julia he will always be her
friend and she will never be alone. Julia thanks Holden with tears
still running down her face.


On the porch, Carly is angry Jack left a family celebration to once
again rescue Julia. Carly can't stand to watch Jack bend over
backwards to try and make everyone happy. Jack insists he loves
Carly and his family with her but he just can't cut J.J and Julia
out of his life. Carly explains that this arrangement isn't working
for anyone because he can't be a husband to two wives. Carly tells
Jack to truly search his heart and decide what he wants to do about
the situation.

ATWT's "Matie": Keep the Faith


Is there hope for ATWT's Mike and Katie?  Things seem to be going
smoothly for him with Jennifer and because Katie is so stubbornly
determined to lie about her (non)relationship with Simon, Matie fans
are losing hope.  Rest assured, it's all part of Katie's convoluted
plan.

"Initially, just seeing him with someone else, it's like, 'Boom --
there's competition.  Let's go,'" say portrayer Terri
Colombino.  "But I think she, at first, really thinks, 'This
couldn't be anything.'  It's only been a month with them, if that.
That's nothing compared to what Mike and Katie had."  This week,
Katie plots to win Mike back for the holidays.  "Brilliant Katie
thinks that if she burns the Christmas dinner, sweet Jennifer will
come to the rescue, so Katie can have time with Mike while Jennifer
is in the kitchen," explains the actress.

Wackiness ensues, but Katie didn't bargain for the tough competitor
that Jen turns out to be.  "She regrets leaving now because it
didn't really accomplish anything, and she feels like she's missed
out on a lot," sighs Colombino.  "If she were just honest with
him....."

happened to Rosanna's baby? I heard through the show that the baby
died, but how and why?

the soap about two weeks ago.  I got hooked with the
Carly/Jack/Julia storyline.

Carly has never been known for tact or patience and this week she
stays true to character when she tells Julia to leave Oakdale. How
will Julia respond? We don't know for certain, but we can share
this. By weeks end, Holden finds himself embracing Julia. Is her
conversation with Carly earlier in the week the reason why? Is there
a possibility for romance between these two?

Across town, guess what? Craig says he knows who is behind his
kidnapping. Who does he think is responsible? Is he correct?

Speaking of Craig, his daughter Lucy is moving on from Dusty. When
Rafael gives Lucy a Christmas tree how will she react? Speaking of
Christmas trees, Katie invites someone to help her decorate hers. Is
it Mike? If so, will Mike be forced to make a choice between Katie
and Jennifer?

Carly and Julia come to blows!
Will realizes Emily is gas lighting Rosanna. He also realizes that
no one will believe him.

CASTING NEWS:

SHRINER'S IDENTITY REVEALED!

As the World Turns is finally releasing a few facts about Kin
Shriner's new role on the show, and the Stenbeck name isn't anywhere
to be found! Beginning Feb 2nd, he'll play Keith, a mysterious
stranger with ties to Julia's past. With Sarah Brown, who plays
Julia, exiting ATWT in early 2005, could Shriner's time in Oakdale
be a short visit? The actor's rep says that the stay is open-ended;
Shriner and team are eager for a contract to materialize in the near
future.
