rescue with reasons of his own.

FEEDBACK: Please, I'd love to hear you thoughts. This is my first
piece of fanfic, so be gentle. :)
AUTHOR'S NOTE: This part is still Spike remembering when they were
together after her being turned. This part also should answer the soul
question. If there are things that are still unclear, just e-mail me.

Forever With You Part 2
It had been a few weeks and Willow had aleady started training
with Spike. It was fun...for both of them. The first time they got up
to train, he ran towards her and she caught him and flipped him:
"Oh my gosh! I'm so sorry! I didn't mean to do that, Spike." She
was amazed at how easy it had been.
"Okay, pet, first rule of training: Never say you're sorry.
Anyway, this is a good thing. I knew that Angelus being your sire would
make you stronger than most vampires since he's so old." Granted, his
pride had been wounded, but she was too busy marveling at her new-found
strength to notice.
After a few hours, they had practiced hand-to-hand combat and block
and punch techniques. Anyone with half a brain could tell they worked
great together. They really enjoyed each other's company, and they
spent every waking hour together. The vampire in them had become an
issue. When it rained at night, they would curl up in front of the
fireplace and one time, they kissed:
"Lovely weather we're having," Spike said half sarcastically, half
playfully. They could hear the rain beating methodically on the roof.
"We can't go out every night, ya know. Besides, I like the sound of
rain," she said in her musical voice.
He gently pulled her closer to him and they gazed for what seemed
like an eternity into each other's eyes. He softly touched her cheek
with his hand and pulled her into a kiss...long, passionate kiss. When
they broke, they were both embarrassed and shocked. Willow was the
first to speak.
"I think the rain's stopped."
"Right then. I guess we should go now." And they were both eager
to get outside as fast as they could.
As time went by, they became very good friends. It was amazing:
If you looked back about a year, you would have seen them plotting
against each other. Now, they were inseparable.
* *
*
"So, what do you think, Spike?" Willow asked for the third time.
The sound of her voice sent him swimming back to consciousness.
Think? Think about what? He was so lost in his thoughts he had no idea
what she was talking about. But he intended to play along for the sake
of not getting in trouble.
"Um, I think what you think, luv." He thought that was as good as
anything. As long as he agreed with her, she couldn't get mad at him.
"Okay, then it's settled. We're going out for a picnic under the
stars. Go ahead and pick a spot outside while I get ready." She knew
exactly what she was going to wear. It was a new dress that she had
just bought...long, silky in her favorite color, silver. Spike hadn't
even seen it.
He was relieved when she mentioned the picnic. He loved it when
they had picnics. She was so fun to be around. He walked outside into
the crystal clear night. It was so beautiful tonight, he thought to
himself. Not a cloud in the sky...all the stars had come out to greet
them. He picked a spot on top of a hill quite a ways from their home.
He knew she liked to be as close to the stars as she could. He bent
down and spread out the light blue blanket she had given him. He sat
down and patiently waited for his Willow to come.
After she had put on her dress, she pulled her hair up and loosely
held it with a clip. She wished that she could admire herself in the
mirror, but she knew it wasn't possible. She put on some lip gloss and
headed out the door to search for her Spike. After she was out in the
night air, she didn't think they could've picked a better night for a
picnic. She took a deep breath and began to think back a few months to
when they had met their first so-called enemy.
* *
*
It was a year after she had been turned, and the demon in her had
almost if not completely taken over her. She had begun thinking of ways
to destroy the Slayer, even though there was a tiny voice down inside
her that kept telling her not to. She ignored it. She told Spike about
her thoughts, and at first he was happy. He knew that together they
could overcome the Slayer. They were a perfect team. A vampire who had
already killed two Slayers, and a vampire the Slayer could not kill.
Then he remembered the promise he had made to her when she first found
out that she was a vampire. He told her that they would be happier in
Europe, and she didn't know why, but there was a part in her that was
overjoyed that they were moving.
So, there they were, on a boat headed to Paris. They had to stay
in their room most of the time due to daylight. And they were relieved
to find out that it was night when the boat docked. They found an old
and deserted caslte-like house...mysterious enough to fit their needs.
They figured the house looked haunted enough to discourage any visitors.
It was crawling with ivy and flowers. Willow thought it was the most
gorgeous thing she had ever seen. Inside they found it had three floors
and a basement. As they walked up the marble stairs, they couldn't
believe that someone had left this house with all the furniture still
inside. Everything looked so elegant, like out of a fairytale.
Hardwood floors with magnificently-colored rugs in just about every
room. Willow took a room with light blue everything. The walls were
blue with silver roses painted on them. It looked like it had taken a
few years to accomplish. The canopy bed looked so inviting that she
wished it was dawn so they could sleep. Spike took a similar room only
it was navy blue without the roses. Because the house was so large,
their rooms were side by side. They began to wander through the rest of
the house to see what else lie in store for them. They walked out the
back door and Willow gasped. There was a huge garden flowing with just
about every kind of flower in every kind of color you could name. In
the center, there was a large fountain. It was fairly plain, but it's
greatness made it seem extraordinary.
They heard a rustle in some bushes that lined the garden. They
turned to see two male vampires staring at them intensely. They were
both about the same height as Spike, but they had dark brown hair. They
looked strong, like they worked out a lot. The way they were grinning,
Willow and Spike knew they were not going to be friends.
"Well, look what we have here, Raven," said the one wearing the
black shirt.
"I don't think they were invited, do you, Dante?" the other one
snickered.
"We were invited by the doormatt," Spike remarked stepping in front
of Willow. He had heard about these two. Dante and his sidekick,
Raven. They were written about in some books. Spike made it a point to
study each and every vampire he might cross one day. These two were
about as old as he was and had killed a Slayer. He knew they weren't
too dangerous, and he also knew they didn't know who Willow was,
considering she was so young. They didn't know how powerful she was,
and he was positive they could overcome them. But he wasn't too pleased
they lived so close to their new home. He was sure they didn't live
here, but he had to admit he didn't know exactly where they did live.
"Man, don't tell me that stupid welcome matt is still out there!
Raven, I told you to move that!" He was way passed angry and entering
furious. He had told that idiot countless times to move that matt so no
vampires could disturb them when they came here to get flowers to lure
young women so they could get a meal.
"Who are they?" asked Willow obviously flustered at the idea that
someone had interrupted their house-warming party, if that's what you
would call it.
"Stay back...don't worry. They won't hurt you. Not so long as I'm
here." Spike, too, had wanted her first stay in Paris to be a pleasant
one, but that's usually when things go wrong.
"Aren't we kinda egotistical?" said Dante, the leader of the two.
"No, I believe that's your job," growled Spike. He wanted them
gone as soon as possible so he could explain to Willow who they were and
how to defeat them.
"Well, we've got what we came for, but don't worry, this ain't over.
We'll be back." He couldn't believe the luck Raven and him had gotten.
They weren't sure who Spike was going to come with, and when they saw
this meek little girl, it was all they could do from laughing. This was
going to be fun.
End part 2.

I just have to say that the only thing I love more than a Willow/Angel piece
is a Willow/Spike piece. She's so damn awesome, and I like her with Spike way
more than Dru. Please, keep 'em coming!
Virgo,

> Willow.
Part 3. The last line is borrowed from "Casablanca" which belongs to
MGM/UA. This is it for now. I am planning on writing a sequel some
time. Let me know if you think I should.
Willow ran after Spike as fast as she could, but she didn't think she
would ever catch him. Lucky, he heard her behind him and stopped. When
she got to him, she was panting and out of breath. Spike just stood
there looking at her, waiting for her to speak. He took a cigarette out
of his coat pocket and lit it. Willow watched in fascination as he did.
She loved the way he look in those leather jacket and pants. And the
way that red shirt contrasted with his bleached blond hair. <Down girl.
My hormones are in overdrive. This is Spike here. Remember, the bad
guy.>
"So, luv," Spike finally had to speak. He was getting antsy watching
her study him. "Why did you come after me? Was there something you
wanted to ask?"
"Well, yeah, but I am not sure how to ask it, so here goes. Why?"
"Why what?"
"Why did you help me? I guess I am confused."
"When Dru left me, all I could think about was getting her back. Then
I began to realize I was happy without her. And, as weird as it may
seem, I felt good after I helped the Slayer. Sounds stupid doesn't it?"
"No, it sounds like you what something else for life than causing
destruction. If you really mean it, I can help you."
"You would do that" Spike asked, his voice holding a combination of
surprise and excitement. "Why would you help me?"
"Because you helped me silly. So, do you mean it or is this another
one of your tricks to hurt us?"
"Listen sweets, I mean it. I think I mean it. Look, I am not saying I
want to be a nancy-boy like Angel, but I don't want to hurt anyone.
Well, unless I need blood of course. But I haven't fed off an innocent
in a long time. I won't stop killing, but I only kill those who deserve
to die."
"I suppose that is a start. If you ever need to talk, about anything I
am here for you. Like you said, we do make a great team." Willow
smiled as she said that. Spike loved seeing her smile. It was like a
light going on in his world. He hadn't seen anything that pure in his
entire life, and especially not in is undead life. <I really care about
this girl, but could she ever care about me? After all I have done to
her, it would be asking too much>
Almost sensing his thoughts, she leaned into him and gave him a light
kiss on the lips. Almost on reflex he put his arm around her waist and
pulled her to him, deepening the kiss. When they finally pulled apart,
she was once again out of breath.
"Wow" Willow gasped "that was uh really nice, and wow" She was
turning every shade of red in the book.
"Yeah, little red, it was. You know your friends will have a hard time
accepting this, but I would like to continue being friends with you.
And anything else you want to be. Just know whatever happens, I will
always protect you."
"Spike, you have proven to me you have changed. And even though I
can't explain it, I trust you. I know this isn't one of your games. I
believe you when you say you have changed. Furthermore" she continued,
in her best 'resolved' voice "I am your friend now. The others will
just have to accept that. You will have to prove yourself and it may
take a while, but they will. Maybe. If they don't tough."
"And about anything else between us?" Spike asked reluctantly. <I
have to know where we stand.>
"I just lost my boyfriend because your ex-girlfriend vamped him. I do
like you Spike, but I need this to go slowly. In time I think I could
be ready something more than friendship." <Yeah, like, oh, give me

wouldn't be too long before something happened between them. But he
knew he would have to take it slowly with the hacker.

Forever With You Part 1
It had been two years since it happened. But to Willow, it still
felt like yesterday. Oh, of course, she had had enough time to get over
it...the demon in her had made sure of that. When she slept, she had
the nightmare over and over. It happened the same way everytime. She
would be walking home in a dark alley...she still had no idea why she
thought that she was immune to the dark creatures that walked that--she
found out in the hardest way possible that she wasn't. Anyway, she
would be walking home in a dark alley. Then it would come clear as day.
A blow to the back of her head so hard that the world went black in two
seconds. When she woke, she found herself chained up to a wall in some
underground hideout. She looked up and saw him... the dark-haired
monster. Angelus. He was chuckling at her terrified face. She
couldn't move, even if she wasn't bound by chains...she was so afraid of
what was going to happen to her.
Although she had no idea what that was, she knew that he was keeping her
alive for some horrific torture that she couldn't imagine. Then it
came. He stood next to her and fed. She could feel the life being taken
from her and couldn't bear it. She closed her eyes for what she thought
would be the last time. But before she was gone, he shook her and was
trying to force her to take his blood. She wouldn't...she wouldn't
allow herself to become one of them. She screamed and screamed for what
seemed like an eternity. When they finally decided she wasn't going to
cooperate, they injected the blood into her stomach.
* *
*
She awoke with a feeling that she knew she could do without. She
looked over, expecting to find the one who had saved her from death:
Spike. When she didn't see him, she resumed her former position. She
could remember Spike's behavior when he saw her being injected. He
swore furiously and knocked Angel unconscious. His beloved Drusilla had
been killed earlier due to the actions of the fool before him who was
trying to make yet another barrier between himself and the Slayer. He
despised any kind of plan of Angel's...any kind of plan. So, he
intended to sabotage this one without thinking about it. After he had
dusted some of Angel's minions, he picked up the innocent victim and
carried her off into the night.
Willow didn't allow herself to recall anymore of that horrifying
night. She got up and went to the dresser of the room in which she
slept in. She picked up the silver brush and began to stroke her hair.
As she looked into the mirror, she saw the bed and the painting on the
wall behind her, but couldn't see herself. It had been something she
had become quite used to. At first, she found it impossible to put her
hair up, but she had mastered the skill within a few weeks. She felt
more alive, hard as that may seem, as a vampire. She felt more
confident. More beautiful.
She could feel someone's presence, as vampires can. From the
familiarity of the presence, she concluded it was Spike. So, she
pretended not to notice him as he walked up behind her. When he grabbed
her waist, she let out a squeal that made him laugh. She turned around
and playfully hit him on the shoulder.
"Hey, what was that for, luv?" he asked. In the time they had
been together, he couldn't believe how strong she had been. No other
person he knew could've handle the amount of pressure she had been
under. She was so confident now, much more than Dru had ever been. He
liked that he had a loyal friend now, but she was beginning to become
more than that.
"You know I don't like to be scared," she answered. She had meant
to say that truthfully although since she had become a vampire, being
scared was much more exhilarating. In fact, she loved walking the
streets at night. Although she did like to be alone, when she was with
Spike, she felt she could do anything.
"But being scared is what makes life worth unliving," he remarked.
"Spike," she began, "I just want to thank you."
"For what, pet?"
"Remember about two years ago, after...uh it happened? I was about
to be killed by Angel, but you stopped him. You saved my life and gave
me a new one, Spike."
"Willow, I thought you had gotten over that."
"I know...I have, really. It's just, sometimes, I don't think I'm
strong enough, ya know. Sometimes, I wonder why I am still alive or
whatever we are."
"Undead. And don't say that. Listen to me, you are the strongest
person I know. When I look back, you and Dru are so different. She
would be here crying if she was in your shoes. But you, you are so
confident, and beautiful, and smart."
She smiled, as she always did, when he called her beautiful. He
was so kind to her, it was almost unbelieveable. Perhaps he
wanted...needed a friend. She felt lucky, in a weird sort of way, that
she was that friend. Although she knew she was his friend, she
sometimes day-dreamed, or well, nightdreamed about being with him
romantically. She knew it was far-fetched, but the vampire in her was
very flirtatious. Spike had to have seen it, or else he just passed it
off as vampirism. She wanted him to look at her, really look at her.
But since this relationship was too good just being friends, she didn't
want to be the one to mess with it.
He saw her smile and was relieved. Usually, they joked around like
brother and sister, but everytime this subject came up, he was always
worried he was going to say the wrong thing. He had hoped this
conversation wouldn't depress her, but he should've known. Nothing
could bring her down. He was certain of this. Considering all that had
happened to her, he was positive that she alone could rule the world.
But eh knew her, and he knew she was a simple girl with many talents.
He let his mind drift back to when they were first together after the
incident.
* *
*
It was a few nights after it happened. She was sleeping...again.
He didn't think she was going to wake up. She had been sleeping the
last two days. When she did wake up, he was sitting in a chair beside
her bed, trying to not seem too threatening. She let her eyes adjust to
the bright light the lamp gave off. She slowly sat up and became aware
of the presence beside her. She gasped, thinking this would be another
part of the torture.
"Morning, luv," he said cheerfully.
She didn't reply. But for some unexplained reason, she didn't feel
that alarm go off inside her like the one she had felt earlier that
day...or week...How long had it been since her encounter with Angelus?
She didn't feel any pain. Still, she kept her silence.
"I know what you're thinking. More torture. Well, sorry to
disappoint you, but since that had been Angel's plan, I am strongly
against it."
"What happened to me?" were the weak sounds that left her lips. She
hadn't wanted to converse with this mortal enemy at all, but she had to
know.
"Do you remember anything at all?"
"A little...uh, Angel...blood...being carried." She was so weak,
she could only communicate through little phrases.
"Ah, yes. Well, Angel tried to turn you into a vampire, and he
succeeded. The 'being carried' part was my doing. You see, Angel's
foolishness lead to the dusting of my Drusilla, and I made a vow to be
against any and everything of him and his plans. So, that is why you
are sitting here and not dust at his place."
She let this soak in. She couldn't believe it. The fact she had
been told she was a vampire suddenly made her a little more aware. She
snapped back to reality after this little fact had been told.
"A vampire? I'm a vampire?" she whispered timidly, afraid of the
answer she knew she was going to get. She only hoped he wouldn't rub it
in her face...that he would just leave her alone.
"Afraid so...I am sorry, pet, hard as that may be to believe, but I
really am. Angel was only using you as another way to hurt the Slayer."
Buffy. For some reason that name didn't mean that much to her. As
hard as she tried, she couldn't care for Buffy as she used to. She
supposed that the demon in her was slowly taking over her body. She
prayed to who or whatever vampires prayed to that she wouldn't want to
harm her lost friend as time went by.
"Where are we?" It was one of the many questions floating through
her mind.
"Uh, an old abandoned house just outside of Sunnydale. We're on the
second floor now; my room's a couple of doors down. When you get to
feeling better, I'll show it to you. This is your room if you want it.
The windows were already boarded up so don't worry about the sun. I
think you'll like it here," he was rambling and he knew it. It was just
so easy to talk to another vampire...especially Willow. He didn't know
why. He stopped talking to see what her reaction to living in a house
with him would be.
She felt very strange. Not because Spike had just told her that
they were going to be living together, but because she felt totally calm
about it. She never noticed how caring he could be. She continued to
look around her new room and then back at Spike. His face was dark and
serious, yet she could make out some kindness there she never knew
existed. She didn't know what to say, so she said nothing.
"Don't worry, ducks, I'll pay my half of the rent," he said, trying
to get some form of a response from her.
She couldn't help it. A faint smile spread across her face. She
couldn't believe how happy she was to be here with him. She remembered
a time when she wanted him dead, along side of Buffy. There was one
thing, though, she needed to get clear.
"Spike, when the demon in me takes over, will you take me somewhere
far away, maybe across the ocean so I won't hurt the Slayer or her
friends?"
"Sure, Willow. Anything for you, luv." He was beyond relief she was
going to open up to him...to live forever with him He couldn't be
alone, not now. He was going to train Willow as much as he could so
they could go out at night and rule the town.
End part 1.
I really loved Spike's redemption and can't to see what else develops! Good
job!

Hi! Just thought I would introduce myself. Name's Charity and I adore
Willow/Angel,
Willow/Angelus, Willow/Spike, or any combination of those (Willow/Spike/Angelus
etc...).
While I'm at it Willow/Oz is kind of fun in a cute little puppy kind of way too.
In fact the only Willow pairings I'm not to fond of are Willow/Xander or
Willow/Buffy (In my twisted little world if Willow went that way she would have
the good taste to go for Faith or Dru)
By the way loved Spike's redemption and am looking forward to reading more great
fic!

Well, in the grand tradition of conformity, I've decided to say hello to
everyone. I really love Willow/Angel fics, so much more than other fics,
mainly because everybody that writes them does an excellent job. I'm in the

Guess since everyone else is saying Hi, I better too. My name is Dayna,
and I'm a huge Willow/Angel 'shipper, which probably explains why all the
stories I write are about them. :-)) But a close second is any fic with
Willow as the main character. Looking forward to lots of great Willow
fic!!
Happy Holidays

Part 2
Willow walked into her house exhausted. <I really need some sleep.>
However, she looked and saw she had a message on her answering machine.
She decided to check it first, then head off to bed. It was from Giles.
He needed her to come to the library as soon as possible. Buffy had
been hurt in her battle with Dru. Willow ran the whole way to school.
She walked in and saw Buffy sitting in a chair surrounded by Giles,
Xander, and Cordelia. She was covered in scratches and had a deep cut
on her face. Her left arm was bandaged.
"Buffy" Willow exclaimed. "are you okay?"
Buffy smiled weakly. "Yeah Will. I got her."
"Thank you"
"Where were you tonight?" Xander asked.
"I went to visit Ox's grave"
"You what?" he yelled. "Willow, you of anybody should know better
than going out alone at night. Have you lost your mind?"
"I had my supplies. Besides, nothing happened." She lied. <I can't
tell them about Spike now> she thought. <They would want to go after
him, and Buffy isn't strong enough to face him now.> At least that is
what she told herself. She didn't realize there could be another reason
for her not telling the others about Spike.
They decided for the next couple of days the slayerettes would take
over patrol.
The next night Giles, Willow, and Xander were checking out the cemetery
when a group of vampires ambushed them. They managed to fight off a
few, but the others had surrounded them and blocked their escape. It
looked like the remaining vamps were about to attack when Spike
discovered them.
"Well, well. What do we have here?" Spike snickered. "Looks like you
guys are in trouble. I guess the Slayer is out of commission tonight.
I think you could use some help."
With that, Spike turned to the other vampires and attacked. All but
one of the slayerettes stood frozen looking at Spike. Willow ran to his
side and began fighting with their former enemy. Together they managed
to destroy them all. Actually, Spike did most of the fighting, but
Willow staked a couple herself. Her fighting skills have been improving
greatly since Buffy left Sunnydale. Even after Buffy had returned,
Willow continued to practice.
Xander leaned over to Giles and whispered, "Is it my imagination, or
did Spike just help us?"
"He did" Giles responded. "I wonder what he is up to?"
Spike was standing there staring at Willow. He gave her a look over
and said seductively "You know, we make a good team luv. Are you okay?"
"I am fine Spike. Thank you for helping us." Willow responded,
laughing with Spike. "You do have good timing"
Giles interrupted before they could continue. "What are you talking
about. Spike, what are you up to?" "<Oh no. I probably should not have
come out and asked that directly.> "And Willow, why weren't you
surprised that he helped us? I want answers young lady."
Spike stepped up to Giles and stood directly in front of him. "Lay off
her watcher. I am not up to anything, I just didn't want her to get
hurt."
"Oh yeah right. You really expect us to believe that." Xander said.
"I really believe you were just being helpful. I mean you spend so long
trying to kill us, and now you become mister nice guy."
"Xander, " Giles said "if I were you, I would shut up now."
"Good advice, watcher." Spike snarled. While Xander was talking Spike
let his game face come out.
"Spike" Willow began, "calm down. Xander didn't mean anything by it."
Xander gave her a look. "Okay, so he did, but he says things like that
all the time. Don't take it personally. I figured with Dru gone you
would leave. Or are you going after Buffy." She said the last part
through clenched teeth. "Cause if you are. I will stop you. I know
some magic and spells now, and I will find one to keep you from hurting
her. Even after helping us tonight and me last night"
"Hush, little red. I am not here to get revenge on Buffy. I told you
I was glad Dru was killed. After everything with Angelus, I couldn't
live with her anymore. I couldn't live the things we had done. Buffy
is safe from me, you all are." Spike turned and walked away.
Willow looked at the others and saw their disbelief in their eyes.
Before any of them could say anything to her, Willow took off after
Spike.

Willow was sitting next to a grave crying. Night had just fallen as
she and Buffy were waiting for a new vampire to appear. As the vampire
rises for the first time, Willow stakes him from behind. She begins
crying harder. Buffy puts her arm around her and tries to comfort her.
"How could she do that to me, I loved Oz. Oh God Buffy, I just staked
my boyfriend" Willow cried. "Dru killed him. Devon said she kidnapped
Oz at rehearsal. She vamped him just to get to me."
"I am so sorry Willow. I wish I could have been there. Apparently Dru
knows you are the one who performed the restoration spell and wants to
get back at you Angelus' way. By killing those you love."
"So, who do think is next?" Willow asked, becoming calmer.
"I don't know, but it doesn't matter. We will stop her before she can
get to anyone else. It's late, let's get you home"
Buffy walked Willow home. They would meet tomorrow night in the library
to figure out a plan. Buffy promised herself Dru would never hurt
Willow again. First Angel gutted her fish, then she finds her boyfriend
dead at her front door, knowing by the marks on his neck what would
happen soon.
The next night in the library, Willow is surrounded by the Scooby Gang.
"Thanks for letting me do it Buffy." Willow said quietly.
"Man Will" Xander exclaimed "I can't believe you wanted to. I mean, I
don't think I could even stake Cordelia and you know how.... Ouch! Stop
it Cordy, that hurt!" as Cordelia reaches around Willow to where Xander
is sitting with his arm around his best bud and smacks him. "Sorry"
"I felt I should be the one to do it. He became a vampire because of
me."
Giles interrupted at this. "No Willow, he died because of what Dru
did, not because of you. You cannot let yourself feel guilty about
this."
"Really Will," Buffy said "no worries, tonight I finish Dru once and
for all."
After Cordelia drove Willow home, she decided to go visit Oz's grave.
She carried her cross, holy water, and stake. <The truth of the matter
is>, she thought, <I don't really care what happens to me tonight.>
"Oz, I am so sorry. If it wasn't for me you would be alive right now."
She was so lost in her thoughts and guilt about Oz, she didn't hear the
three vampires sneak up behind her until one of them grabbed her and
pulled her to her feet. She figured, <this is it. Now I die>
Before the vamp could do anything, he turned to dust. Willow turned
around shocked. There stood Spike.
The other two vampires attacked him. He staked one, but the other took
advantage of the distraction and managed to get Spike by the throat. He
was about to stake him when Willow doused him with holy water. As the
vampire spun around she raised her cross as Spike took the stake from
his hand and dusted him.
"Why, why did you save me?" was all Willow could think of to say.
"Those three have been hunting me since I came back looking for Dru.
They know I helped the Slayer beat Angelus. Now was as good a time as
any to kill them I guess."
"Dru killed Oz" <why did I say that> Willow wondered, <what will Spike
do to me now?>
"I know. I am sorry the wolf-boy got vamped. That's just how Dru is,
she attacks first and thinks later. I also know that the Slayer killed
Dru tonight."
"Spike, I, never mind."
"Spit it out. There is something you obviously want to say to me."
"I am sorry you lost the one you loved, but I am glad Dru is dead."
<Oh boy, now I die. But why is he looking at me like that.>
For a while Spike didn't respond, just stood there staring at Willow.
Then he said, "You know luv, in a way, so am I." With that he gave
Willow a smile and walked off.
<What did he mean by that?> Willow wondered <and has he always had
that sexy accent? Why did he smile at me. And why do I care. I must
really need sleep!>
Willow slowly turned around and walked home. She never noticed that
Spike was following her, making sure no one attacked her before she was
safe at home.
