Did ya'll find the hidden track on the album yet??? When I was
listening to my copy, I found that after the last track if you let
it play for a few seconds, an acoustic version of "Addicted" comes
on... :)

After I bought mine early yesterday afternoon, there was only one
left. Not sure whether they only had a few or that it sold that
quick. I would like to think the latter. I also bought it on Itunes
for my ipod. None of the drives on my computer work so I needed to
do it this way. Besides Ace will get credit for it so that's a good
thing. I also plan to buy another to send to a friend of mine. If
anyone hears numbers sold the first week, I would like that
information. Thanks. Oh and I must say, it's a great CD, well worth
the wait. I really love "You Redeem Me"!

> Ryan Seacrest is already an anchor on E! News; host of "American
Idol," "Dick Clark's New Year's Rockin' Eve" and "American Top 40";
and the morning-drive personality on a top Los Angeles radio station.
Now, he's about to come to radios nationwide each day, too. And, if
that's not enough, the ubiquitous Mr. Seacrest will be peddling the
ads for that show.
>
> In a deal with Clear Channel Communications Inc.'s Premiere Radio
Networks unit, Mr. Seacrest's five-hour L.A. radio show will be
boiled down to three for use middays and afternoons in the rest of
the country. Mr. Seacrest will tape localized comments for each
market that syndicates the show.
>
> The deal is most noteworthy, however, for its advertising
component. In an unusual arrangement, Mr. Seacrest will own and
control a portion of the advertising time on the show. The goal:
bringing in some of the sponsors he already has a relationship with
on television, with the potential fringe benefit of getting them more
interested in radio. He will also sell some of his own advertising on
the "American Top 40" radio countdown.
>
> While some radio personalities own their shows, they tend to leave
the selling up to their employers. Few have the national presence of
Mr. Seacrest, 33 years old, who reaches audiences young and old and
moves seamlessly between television and radio. Now, Mr. Seacrest is
going to try to parlay his fame and squeaky-clean image into a closer
and more lucrative relationship with advertisers.
>
> "Ryan is one of the most commercially viable, advertiser-friendly
personalities in radio today," says Kraig Kitchin, a consultant to
radio personalities like Rush Limbaugh and former head of Premiere
Radio Networks. "He is as clean and endorsement-appropriate as they
come."
>
> For radio, the show could provide an important boost. While 94% of
Americans listen to radio every day, revenue is stagnating. Network
advertising, the kind that accompanies nationally syndicated, well-
known shows, in ways is the simplest to sell, with one buy placing an
ad in as many as hundreds of markets around the country. Many radio
executives say national advertising has the most potential to grow.
>
> But buying radio on a network basis costs much less than buying it
market by market, making it less of a moneymaker for the radio
companies. If radio firms could boost their networks' appeal to
national advertisers, they could rely less on expensive local sales
forces that burn through a lot of shoe leather rounding up each sale.
In 2006, the last full year with numbers available, network
advertising shrank 2%, to $1.11 billion; local advertising shrank 1%,
to $15.48 billion.
>
> The products Mr. Seacrest peddles won't be so much through the
traditional 30- and 60-second spots familiar to radio listeners.
Instead, the ads will mostly be integrated into the programming. For
example, Mr. Seacrest might say a coming segment is brought to
listeners by a particular advertiser, or refer to a product in
passing. "I think the product-placement model is what catches
people's attention," Mr. Seacrest said in an interview.
>
> Coca-Cola Co., a company Mr. Seacrest works with extensively
through "American Idol" advertising campaigns and other projects, is
one he would like to tap for his new show. On Saturday, he hosted
Coca-Cola executives and some of their customers at his home for a
pre-Oscar dinner of Kobe beef and macaroni and cheese with black
truffles cooked up by chef Wolfgang Puck, who served the same menu he
was planning for the following day's post-Oscars Governors Ball. Mr.
Seacrest gave his dinner guests a quick preview of the radio program.
>
> "We are definitely interested in looking at any opportunity Ryan is
involved in," says Beatriz Perez, senior vice president for
integrated marketing at Coca-Cola, who was at the dinner. The
marketing ideas Mr. Seacrest has brought to the company over
time "have always been relevant and in the sweet spot of how we
should be reaching consumers."
>
> Best of all for Mr. Seacrest, the new show, to debut in April,
won't require much additional work on his part, as much of it will be
adapted from his popular radio show in Los Angeles, a chat-and-music

Quote: Next Up for Mr. Seacrest: Peddling Ads for Radio
By SARAH MCBRIDE
February 28, 2008; Page B1

Ryan Seacrest is already an anchor on E! News; host of "American Idol," "Dick
Clark's New Year's Rockin' Eve" and "American Top 40"; and the morning-drive
personality on a top Los Angeles radio station. Now, he's about to come to
radios nationwide each day, too. And, if that's not enough, the ubiquitous Mr.
Seacrest will be peddling the ads for that show.

In a deal with Clear Channel Communications Inc.'s Premiere Radio Networks unit,
Mr. Seacrest's five-hour L.A. radio show will be boiled down to three for use
middays and afternoons in the rest of the country. Mr. Seacrest will tape
localized comments for each market that syndicates the show.

The deal is most noteworthy, however, for its advertising component. In an
unusual arrangement, Mr. Seacrest will own and control a portion of the
advertising time on the show. The goal: bringing in some of the sponsors he
already has a relationship with on television, with the potential fringe benefit
of getting them more interested in radio. He will also sell some of his own
advertising on the "American Top 40" radio countdown.

While some radio personalities own their shows, they tend to leave the selling
up to their employers. Few have the national presence of Mr. Seacrest, 33 years
old, who reaches audiences young and old and moves seamlessly between television
and radio. Now, Mr. Seacrest is going to try to parlay his fame and
squeaky-clean image into a closer and more lucrative relationship with
advertisers.

"Ryan is one of the most commercially viable, advertiser-friendly personalities
in radio today," says Kraig Kitchin, a consultant to radio personalities like
Rush Limbaugh and former head of Premiere Radio Networks. "He is as clean and
endorsement-appropriate as they come."

For radio, the show could provide an important boost. While 94% of Americans
listen to radio every day, revenue is stagnating. Network advertising, the kind
that accompanies nationally syndicated, well-known shows, in ways is the
simplest to sell, with one buy placing an ad in as many as hundreds of markets
around the country. Many radio executives say national advertising has the most
potential to grow.

But buying radio on a network basis costs much less than buying it market by
market, making it less of a moneymaker for the radio companies. If radio firms
could boost their networks' appeal to national advertisers, they could rely less
on expensive local sales forces that burn through a lot of shoe leather rounding
up each sale. In 2006, the last full year with numbers available, network
advertising shrank 2%, to $1.11 billion; local advertising shrank 1%, to $15.48
billion.

The products Mr. Seacrest peddles won't be so much through the traditional 30-
and 60-second spots familiar to radio listeners. Instead, the ads will mostly be
integrated into the programming. For example, Mr. Seacrest might say a coming
segment is brought to listeners by a particular advertiser, or refer to a
product in passing. "I think the product-placement model is what catches
people's attention," Mr. Seacrest said in an interview.

Coca-Cola Co., a company Mr. Seacrest works with extensively through "American
Idol" advertising campaigns and other projects, is one he would like to tap for
his new show. On Saturday, he hosted Coca-Cola executives and some of their
customers at his home for a pre-Oscar dinner of Kobe beef and macaroni and
cheese with black truffles cooked up by chef Wolfgang Puck, who served the same
menu he was planning for the following day's post-Oscars Governors Ball. Mr.
Seacrest gave his dinner guests a quick preview of the radio program.

"We are definitely interested in looking at any opportunity Ryan is involved
in," says Beatriz Perez, senior vice president for integrated marketing at
Coca-Cola, who was at the dinner. The marketing ideas Mr. Seacrest has brought
to the company over time "have always been relevant and in the sweet spot of how
we should be reaching consumers."

Best of all for Mr. Seacrest, the new show, to debut in April, won't require
much additional work on his part, as much of it will be adapted from his popular
radio show in Los Angeles, a chat-and-music fest on pop station 102.7 KIIS-FM.

Nationally, it's the topical, often celebrity-heavy material that he thinks will
draw people in. On Monday's show, for example, actor Gary Busey called in after
an awkward encounter the night before at the Academy Awards. On the red carpet,
Mr. Busey had barged in and interrupted as Mr. Seacrest was interviewing
actresses Laura Linney and Jennifer Garner for E!

The event and subsequent phone call, which included Mr. Busey's musings on the
nature of spontaneity and paying attention to the light, were "soap opera," says
Mr. Seacrest. "That happened on a global level."

In the future, Mr. Seacrest says, his show could go middays- and
afternoons-only, all around the country. As he gets older, he questions whether
he wants to stick to a grueling schedule that has him up and at KIIS-FM in time
for the show's 5 a.m. start. Normally, giving up a morning-drive show would be
considered a step down in radio, but Mr. Seacrest is a believer in a new
audience measurement tool from Arbitron Inc. that is being rolled out around the
country. Known as the Portable People Meter, the new electronic device seems to

Mr. Seacrest's L.A. radio studio is being updated so that key moments will be

as cups of Coca-Cola appear prominently on "American Idol."

Mr. Seacrest hopes to target other companies he has existing relationships with,
such as Procter & Gamble Co., with whom he promotes Crest toothpaste and Scope
mouthwash. A P&G spokeswoman says the company is increasingly working with
integrated content and that the new show "seems like a great fit for us."

Mr. Seacrest will keep working on other projects, such as hosting his weekly

Interesting insights about the contestants...

Partying with the 'American Idol Top 24
     By Daniel Fienberg
   February 15, 10:35 AM

Lemme tell you, folks, you just haven't lived til you've spent Valentine's
Day listening to American Idol vet Ace Young sing his cover of U2's "Vertigo."
While FOX's official network-sponsored party celebrating the Top 12 is several
weeks in the future, Idol producers Fremantlemedia and 19 Entertainment got
together with Garnier Fructis -- which explained the shampoo-bottle curtains,
hair supplies in the bathrooms and mystery drinks dubbed "Fructinis" -- to honor
the freshly minted Idol Top 24 on Thursday (Feb. 14) night at The Day After, a
Hollywood hot spot that I usually can't get into without a press badge.
That FOX party will be a full-fledged media event with potential opportunities
to interview my favorite remaining Idol singers, but Thursday's party was about
introducing the Top 24 to the glamour of the Idol experience (Check out our Red
Carpet photos).
Or, as Mr. Ace Young put it, as he took the stage, "I want to be the first one
to welcome you guys to the fast life."
To be fair, Young's words were less an actual invitation and more a segue into
a performance of a song that sure seemed to be called "Fast Life." In all, Young
performed a whopping eight songs on Thursday night and although the main area
around the stage began to thin out rapidly, I have to say that he isn't bad. If
you'd asked me at this time two years ago, I'd have predicted that Young would
win his Idol season. He didn't, but vocal and performance limitations aside --
he still hasn't figured out what to do at the mic other than look mighty pretty
-- I'm not sure why he hasn't found a bit more post-show success.
Since the party was less about interrogation than observation, I just took
advantage of the chance to check out the Top 24 up-close.
   Some quick observations:

As I've said before, leaving talent out of the equation, this is unquestionably
the best looking Idol crop ever. For the gals, Kady Malloy is an absolute
bombshell -- like a curvier Dominique Swain -- and Alaina Whitaker is an
underage Kady Malloy. Even if Luke Menard can't sing a note -- and the producers
didn't have any interest in letting us hear him -- the guy's gonna get a soap
opera gig in a second if that's what he wants.
A lot of the singers are really tiny. Ramiele Malubay's pint-sized, as are David
Archuleta, Garrett Haley and Colton Berry. Asia'H Epperson isn't big, but even
from a distance, her personality just explodes.
Alexandrea Lushington seemed to enjoy cracking people up and making funny faces
in the group pictures. She'd be well-served to start showing that side of her
personality immediately.
David Cook appears to have mostly shaved his soul patch. Good move. Now Jason
Yeager needs to lose that blonde streak in his hair.
Up close, Robbie Carrico looks older than his age, while Amanda Overmyer looks
younger than she's appeared on-screen.
I'm not going to go back into that whole "Ringers vs. True Amateurs" thing, but
there's going to be a disconnect this season between the singers who are older,
more experienced and have been through some of this before (Kristy Lee Cook,
Michael Johns and Carly Smithson) and the younger, greener contestants for whom
this is all new and fun. I wonder if that personality contrast is going to be
visible to viewers at home on performance nights and if that will play into
voting. In addition to the current Top 24, the party brought out a Who's Who
and Who's That of random former Idol contestants. Justin Guarini, who has taken
on the curly hair and lightly scruffed patina of a missing Gibb Brother, is like
the dean at these events, though anybody with half a degree in Idol-ology would
have quickly recognized other long-running contestants like Jon Peter Lewis. It
would have taken a more advanced study of Idol to be able to pick up on such
quickly booted contestants as Alaina
Alexander, Bobby Bennett or Amanda Avila (who looks fantastic, by the way).
Other celebs in attendance included Rachael Harris, Pamela Adlon and some
pretty gal in a sash reading "Miss California." I'm just going to guess that
she's the reigning Miss California, otherwise she should be sued for fraud.
But really, I know you only care about one thing, dear reader ...
Gift Bag Contents: One bottle Garnier Fructis fortifying shampoo and one
bottle Garnier Fructis fortifying cream conditioner (both promising "Shine
Burst"). One tub Garnier Fructis water-based shine wax ("With fruit
micro-waxes!"). One squirt bottle Garnier Fructis glossing spray (also "With
fruit micro-waxes!"). [The implication all being that if my hair shined just a
bit more, I might also be an American Idol.] One Oscar Mayer Weinermobile
whistle (fruit micro-waxes not included). One Nestle Crunch bar (broken). One
American Idol Pop-Mic lollypop combining the pleasures of licking and batteries
(labeled from Season 6). One gigantic coffee/beverage insulator sponsored by
