Hey JHud fans! I just wanted to take the time out to say thank you
for continuing to support Jennifer and to warmly welcome all the new
members that I continually see joining the group. As I said before,
I would like to bring more life to this forum and I am beginning to
release some previous articles that I had written before but much
more communication between us is still needed. A few months ago,
Jennifer Hudson's version of "And I Am Telling You"
was "accidentally" leaked out to the public. I had written an
article on it but had failed to post it on this site so I will be
doing that now. It's a little out-dated but it is still resourceful
for you who are wanting a professional opinion. I hope you all like
it. Please respond. Enjoy.
And I Am Telling You…..

Unfortunately, this article is a little out of line because it
references to the Jennifer Hudson version of And I Am Telling You,
but the song isn't even supposed to be heard until late December,
during the release of the movie Dreamgirls. Sorry Jenny baby, but
looks like you have too many fans out there that don't mind stabbing
you in the back to hear your voice! You Tube, Limewire, and many
other random sites that you could possibly imagine were posting the
unreleased version like there wasn't no tomorrow. I know Jennifer
and the rest of the Dreamgirls crew would have liked for this tune
to stay on the hush, but I know many people (myself included) that
were lingering with an over eager anticipatory certainty that we
would soon hear the Hudson version. With that said, Lyrically Insane
reports as follows:
First off, this article is not intended to compare Jennifer Hudson
to Jennifer Holiday, or is it aimed to have responses sent back to
me with people casting their votes on who sang it the best. As a
matter of fact, you will not see Jennifer Holiday's name printed
anymore within this article, because I'm only hear to speak of the
greatness and prominence of Jennifer Hudson.
Hands down, this is singly the most difficult and challenging song
in the land of Soul. This is not a song that you practice to become
better at. Either you were born to sing this song, or you will NEVER
sing it…simple as that. Jennifer Hudson my dear, you sang this song
with so much dignity and aggressiveness bundled into one that if I'm
not very careful while listening to it, it will make me cry. I've
never heard anyone sing with so much passion and intensity. As you
sang this song, a story unfolded through the eyes of Effie. Though
I've heard many different versions of the song, I've never been able
to grasp the true definition of the song until now. There was no
rush to hit the high notes, but they couldn't have come at a more
opportune time. The pace of the song was so elegant, every note was
in place, every pitch was fitting, and the style was tremendous.
Jennifer delivered to me everything I was expecting her to deliver
in this song. I have not one negative thing to say about the way she
executed it. Without a doubt in my mind, the Hudson version of `And
I Am Telling You' will be strongly reminisced in generations to
come. So tear down the mountains, yell, scream and shout and
celebrate the awesome rendition of Jennifer Hudson's And I Am
Telling You.
