Grey's Anatomy: Katherine Heigl Talks About Her Personal Life
Monday, July 13, 2009

katherine-marieclaire.jpgKatherine Heigl has been the subject of controversy when it comes to her status on Grey's Anatomy but she hasn't exactly been forthcoming about the direction of her career and personal life. In an interview with UK Marie Claire, in which she appears on the cover of the August 2009 issue, the 30-year-old actress speaks about her relationship with husband Josh Kelley and her take on doing romantic comedies.

"Josh and I didn't live together before we were married because I wanted to hang on to those last days of my single-girl pad as long as I could. I'm not going to lie - it was rough when we finally moved in together. It's the simple stuff everyone talks about. I like things neat, he leaves things everywhere," the Grey's Anatomy actress revealed to Marie Claire.

And while her husband, who works as a singer and songwriter, is no stranger to the entertainment field, Heigl reveals that there are still some things that bothers him when it comes to Heigl's career.

"It's not his favorite part of the profession," said Heigl of her sex scenes. "But I told him, 'It's my job, and if I feel uncomfortable doing my job, and it suffers because of it, I'll kill you."

At present, Katherine Heigl is the fifth highest-paid actress in Hollywood with a string of successful films, including Knocked Up and 27 Dresses, as well as a regular post as Izzie Stevens on ABC's Grey's Anatomy. Soon, fans will want to see her working with more serious projects but Heigl isn't just ready to take the leap just yet.

"I know I'm catching some crap for it, but I really like doing them. People keep asking me if I want to do anything more serious, or Oscar-worthy, and I do, but I'm not quite there yet. I did a lot of heavy stuff in Grey's Anatomy. My mother went through breast cancer 12 years ago, and it brought a lot of that back. I don't want to do that 24/7," she said.

Would you like Katherine Heigl to continue doing romantic comedy movies?
Yes
