Fan Fiction Advice   Message List

Let me preface this by saying that I am not normally a writer of fan fiction. I write fiction a lot, but my few attempts at writing a fan fiction were all abortions. I once started a Pretneder/X-Files crossover but never finished it, and I once starting composing a Pretender/X-Files/Buffy crossover but it never even made it out of my head. (I like creating my owner characters and universes).

Well I recently wrote a Star Trek: TNG comedy piece called "Sub space spam"... but it's more of a spoof than a fan fic really... but I digress...

However, I've had this idea for a Buffy episode in my head for years now, at least three years, maybe longer, and over the years I've been composing it in my head and finally a few days ago I broke down and began typing it. It takes place a little past the middle of the 1999-2000 season (my favorite Buffy season) and I'm thinking... perhaps right before the episode with Oz's return... thereabouts.

Anyhoo, given my inexperience with fan fiction, I was wondering if the list had any advice for me, like where to post it and whatnot. As far as content, I'm not doing any R or NC-17 rated Buffy/Spike sexathons or anything, there's nothing in it that couldn't be shown on TV. In fact it'd make, in its entirety, a really great episode for the show, IMHO.

I know sometimes people posted to this list... sometimes in pieces. I dunno. What do you all think?

Thanks!
